punked Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 That's my point...nobody knows...including you. You can however count how much has been spent so far. So how much? I think we can agree on a greater then and a less then number. I would say from what I have read it is greater then 700 billion and less then 3 trillion. Also 1000 times Kosovo. Quote

That which has been spent so far is a matter of public record, including Afghanistan. Only a complete idiot would claim $3 trillion. We're still spending money on Kosovo..... Only an idiot would support something with out knowing the cost of it or even having a general ball park figure. Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 (edited) I gave you my number. You don`t have one. I smell a rat.....you don't know how to determine the size of annual federal budgets + war supplementals yet you do know how to find wild ass guesses with Google. Do you know what a federal budget is? Here is how it works in the USA (you should know this if ye be a true Yankee): 1) Each year, Prez proposes federal budget to Congress, which includes on budget Defense spending (total U.S. federal budget now tops $3 trillion annually for all government outlays) 2) Congress adds pork and appropriates funding (real money that can be spent) 3) Prez requests "emergency supplementals" for GWOT (Global War on Terror), including but not limited to Iraq and Afghanistan. (Total is up to about $900 billion since 2002 depending on how you count it.) 4) Congress gives Prez "emergency" money 5) Rinse and repeat Any questions?
