Topaz Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 I'm surprised no one has brought this topic up as yet. I don't think the Feds shoud sell MDA aerospace sector especially to the US. IF they get another president like GW who knows how they will use it! Your friend today, your enemy tomorrow. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 Too late for that...we know what Canada does with US technology....just ask the Serbs or Afghans. I worked for Honeywell/ATK/Thiokol for fifteen years....Canada was a customer for our technology and products...still is. Together, our new company will become an even stronger, strategic partner with NASA, offering a wide array of technologies and solutions that draws from our complementary expertise. Eventually, we will form the core of many space exploration initiatives and ensure that Canadians continue to have a leading role in space. http://www.financialpost.com/story.html?id=288200 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

If MDA goes there will be no access to certain tech due to homeland secuirty issues. We will certainly lose a great deal of satellite tech as well. This is a great deal for the U.S. of A. and a schitzen deal for canada. Borg Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 (edited) Perhaps you might like to expand upon what canadians do with U.S. of A. technology? Canadians do the same thing that Americans do with U.S. of A. technology....but sometimes they still need the Americans to do it. Case in point: MDA is the USA portion of MDA Corporation in Richmond, British Columbia which has an Engineering Services group in Houston, and a robotics group, Alliance Space Systems in both California and Colorado. If MDA goes there will be no access to certain tech due to homeland secuirty issues. We will certainly lose a great deal of satellite tech as well. This is a great deal for the U.S. of A. and a schitzen deal for canada. Then don't do it. ...cue Avro Arrow saga in ...three....two...one... kp186 Posted March 27, 2008 Report Posted March 27, 2008 Is there any such thing as a wholly-owned Canadian company anymore? I've heard tongue-in-cheek references to an American invasion of Canada over one issue or another. Take a look around. It's already happened. The USA owns us lock stock and barrel. I'm really surprised that Bombardier hasn't relocated to someplace like Texas yet. It's only a matter of time. Quote
