darthsmall Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 What does it say that in the event of a Clinton candidacy, adding Obama in the number-two spot makes the ticket nearly unbeatable, while doing the reverse makes the ticket nearly unelectable? Click Here for Full Article Quote
fellowtraveller Posted March 10, 2008 Report Posted March 10, 2008 Neither ticket will happen, of course. My view is that a Clinton candidacy will beat McCain handily. Obama would lose to McCain. The reason is simple. Despite all the blah blah about change, what Americans really want is not change, but stability that looks different from Geo Bush. Both McCain and Clinton represent that, but Clinton is just different enough, yet familiar- to carry an election. McCain would Hhammer hammer hammer at Obama to define every aspect of his breathless 'change' message, to delineate every detail. And of course in politics to commit is to perish. Obama would not survive that experience. It is truly astonishing, but the Democrats are slowly but surely wrenching defeat from the jaws of certain victory. Quote The government should do something.

Those who believe Obama doesn't stand a chance will be pleased to be able to make some easy money. Obama is currently 10 points ahead of McCain and 32 points ahead of Clinton on Intrade.com. If you're confident in your prediction, bet the rent. Quote "I think it's fun watching the waldick get all excited/knickers in a knot over something." -scribblet

Obama would not survive that experience. No, it's not that even. Americans know that Senator McCain is the most qualified based on experience. Hillary has admitted as much. He is the best known with a long track record. Clinton and Obama, by your own admission, represent risk. This will be apparent in the general election. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

Obama would not survive that experience. We have not seen the potential toughness of Obama yet. I have no doubt that he will bring out the full guns if he wins the nomination. He is holding back on Hillary because she is democrat and also to maintain his platform of change, which means change from old party campaigning techniques. He has done well leaving the dirty tricks all up to Hillary and she has bitten the bait. Currently, he is on a pedestal and that's just where he wants to stay. Why change what's working? I wouldn't underestimate what he has in store for McCain. We may just see the another side of this facinating man. Edited March 11, 2008 by Carinthia Quote
