Leafless Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 (edited) Charlottetown MP Shawn Murphy was heckling his Conservative seatmate last Thursday when he shouted: "Hang him high, hang Mulroney!" Conservative MP Ed Fast of British Columbia, who sits next to Mr. Murphy, was celebrating the passage of his government's new crime bill when Mr. Murphy started shouting."Let's get this Mulroney before the courts as soon as possible and hang him high! We gotta get Mulroney, put a noose on his head, put a noose on his head. Get tough on crime," he shouted. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/news/s...db-9a8dd34aa586 Is this all the Liberals are good for? ................................................................................ ..................................................... BTW-How to stop heckling, during question period? Answer: They have cameras, use them, zoom in on these squealing screeching MP's shouting insults, acting like a bunch of uncivilized animals. Identify them in action, so we can ALL see WHO THEY ARE. I would bet it would not take long before MP's began acting in a civilized manner. Edited March 4, 2008 by Leafless Quote
southerncomfort Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 Exactly, I hate watching QP it's nothing but a sandbox. Don't you just love it when the Liberals go all bug eyed and frothing at the mouth over nothing LOL Show all the MPs. Is there anything anyone can do about this behaviour? Quote

It is funny, the same way the PC's, CPC, NDP all frothed before. SNAFU since Parliament was a baby. Quote

Just part of the game really....they are trying to unbalance the opponent to get them to speak off the script. ...I wonder if I could get elected on the strength of my heckling ability? guyser Posted March 4, 2008 Report Posted March 4, 2008 ...I wonder if I could get elected on the strength of my heckling ability? I'm not sure, but I sure would love to see it on CPAC. Could you use that "....not if two thoughts come at the same time" line from the other day? That was a classic. Quote

This is a serious situation IMO. PM Harper when trying to reply to an unfounded allegation from the Liberals the other day, could not answer because of heckling and catcalls for the good part of a minute. This type of behavior is getting worse all the time and shows little respect for the PM and the House of Commons itself. The Liberals are becoming especially skilled in this area as reaction specialists who exploit excessive emotions over trivial or unproven matters in a desperate attempt, it appears, to help increase their low ratings in the polls. Funny when it was the other way around, were you complaining? Somehow I doubt it. Change the words in your last paragraph to read "Conservatives were" and we would be talking about a few years ago. No difference now as then . Unless of course, you only woke up to this phenomena recently. Quote

Qeubecers have nothing to do with this , sad as it must be for you. Go back, the Cons hassled the Libs in the HoC, before that the Libs hassled the Cons, it has not changed except some are coming to realize it. SNAFU for the win. Quote
Shakeyhands Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Who let you get out of your cage? Har.... point being that there are lots of things said in the HoC that could get the dander of either side up. Quote "They muddy the water, to make it seem deep." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Topaz Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I've watched c-pac since Harper came there and things have gotten worse since he's in the PMO. I've watched it to find out who the first to throw the first insult and its usually Harper himself. He starts the ball rolling and its all down hill from there. The Cons have the court jester Baird, who is now seating quietly, something to do with the Ottawa mayor perhaps? What I object to from any party is when they are asked a serious question they won't answer it. IF they are not going to answer the question than scrap question period!!!!! I really don't think these people are earning their pay. If I were the speaker, I give one warning, then fine them and turn the money over to charity. OR do what the Ontario speaker did, he would stand up called order and then just stand there staring at them until they quiet down, it worked every time. The speaker has to get more control and quiet being a nice guy. Don't these generationX politicians know they are being judge by the way they act and talk on TV for all of Canaada to see?? Quote
guyser Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I've watched c-pac since Harper came there and things have gotten worse since he's in the PMO. If you didnt watch it before, how could it get worse? It is virtually the same as it ever was. As for Harper throwing the first insult, why yes, he is the boss. Chretien did it Mulroney did it PET did it (probably the best at it) Campbell.....not so much. Quote
