Very interesting article margrace - lots of players involved here. I guess this could confirm that they (Monsanto) are getting ready to release the 'terminator' technology. This 'bank' would save their hides when viable, naturally produced seeds go the way of the dinosaur). Bad news certainly - for the human race - great news for the elites who wish to cleanse the earth of the virus called mankind. Quote "An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind" ~ Ghandi
margrace Posted December 29, 2007 Author Report Posted December 29, 2007 It certainly makes one believe that we need to support the seed banks now collecting vintage seeds. One can easily keep their own too. Quote

They have all kinds of varieties of Cannabis and poppy seeds, as well as coca, and other natural herbal medicines. I'm not sure but i believe they also carry mushroom spores. Quote
margrace Posted December 31, 2007 Author Report Posted December 31, 2007 Some more interesting reading on this front Just Ten Corporations control over half the world seed market, Monsanto recently became the world's biggest seed company, trailed closely by DuPont. In the mid 1970's there were around 7,000 seed companies and not one of them had even 0.5% of the world market. Nowadays just 10 corporations control 49% of the world seed market http://www.gmwatch.org/archive2.asp?arcid=8595 Ontario Grower ordered to pay Monsanto $160 per acre Monsanto continues to aggressively persue farmers for infringing its patents. The latest vitim is Paul Beneteau of Ontario in Canada. DrGreenthumb Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 Monsanto is an evil corporation. They are one of the most unethical companies in history right up there with Bayer Pharmaceuticals (IG Farben). Some of these big greed driven companies are getting to be more dangerous to the earth than some of the bad governments. Then again some would say that some of our governments are nothing more than fronts for these companies. Money buys power. Quote
kimmy Posted December 31, 2007 Report Posted December 31, 2007 I think that a secure seed vault is an excellent idea, and I applaud Bill Gates and his foundation for supporting this. Although his business practices may be ruthless, I do think he is a true humanist. I think that a secure seed vault could conceivably save our collective hides after people like Monsanto put us on the short-track to extinction. I can't even guess what Monsanto gets out of supporting this vault, however. I'm not generally one who gets all worked up about "big evil scary corporations", but Monsanto genuinely worries me. -k Quote (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Friendly forum facilitator! ┬──┬◡ノ(° -°ノ)
margrace Posted January 1, 2008 Author Report Posted January 1, 2008 Well of course Monsanto wants to control all food and water. Given several other topics on here I am very leary of this whole business. The new world order for instance. Quote
