sharkman Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 (edited) Good on yah... ... using this thread to get in a slam. GeezMy family attended the ceremonies yesterday. A young girl recited "In Flanders Fields"... and her voice... it was so tiny, so fragile....well there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. Hey, Dion did it to himself. The pastor at my church had a little ceremony in the service yesterday. We sang O Canada and listened to a military trumpet salute. Then In Flander's Fields was recited, and all were touched. It reminded me of an old song I used to know, which was originally a poem written by a soldier at the end of WWI, Edward Shillito . Here is a verse: The heavens frighten us, they are too calm In all the universe we have no place Our wounds are hurting us; where is the balm?
