ScottSA Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 (edited) I can't use some of the features at the top. It keeps claiming there's an "error." An error occured when trying to automatically change your DST settings. If the error continues, please switch off auto DST correction. Edited October 22, 2007 by ScottSA Quote
Charles Anthony Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 You need to provide more information about how and when this occurs. For the time being (please accept the pun), you have to change your time zone settings -- either in the forum or on your browser. In the forum, try these two things: 1) go to your control panel and change the number of hours difference from Greenwich Meant Time; you are probably off by one hour 2) change your DST settings (from Off to On or from On to Off) Quote We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society. << Où sont mes amis ? ScottSA Posted October 23, 2007 Author Report Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) I changed the time to PST...that's done. Whenever I click on the "political Forums >..." or any of the associated topics I get sent to the error page. In order to get anywhere, I have to click on "Forum Home" above all of that and start over again. Edited October 23, 2007 by ScottSA Quote
ScottSA Posted October 23, 2007 Author Report Posted October 23, 2007 Here's the text on the page: Welcome to your control panel Time Zone An error occured when trying to automatically change your DST settings. If the error continues, please switch off auto DST correction. DST Correction Auto correct DST? (If selected, your DST setting is automatically adjusted when you next load the board index) Is daylight saving time in effect? (If you have selected the correct time zone and the clock appears an hour out, check or uncheck box to suit) My time is set correctly, I unchecked auotcorrect, and it still gleefully gives this message. Clearly the Bushfiends are out to get me. Quote
Charles Anthony Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) Clearly the Bushfiends are out to get me. That could be the case. I would certainly give you the benefit of the doubt. Problems with Daylight Saving Time adjustments have occurred in the past with this forum and other forums that use the same software. The error that you describe often occurs with an individual and not globally across the entire forum. Myself, I am not encountering the problem. I changed the time to PST...that's done.Well, since "Pacific Saving Time" is not a direct selection in the forum software and can only be enacted by combining more than one selection of which there are more than one combination -- in other words, there is more than one way to skin a cat -- I am going to insist again that you provide specific information. Do you have (GMT - 8:00 hours) Pacific Time (US & Canada) selected? Yes or No? Do you have the Auto correct DST? box checked or unchecked? Do you have the Is daylight saving time in effect? box checked or unchecked? One more thing: there is a button that says "Change my Account Options" at the bottom of that settings page. Make sure that you click on it after each time you make a selection up above to save your changes. Checking or unchecking a box is not enough. ScottSA Posted October 23, 2007 Author Report Posted October 23, 2007 (edited) Says GMT - 8 hours Pacific Time Canada US Auto correct DST? box is unchecked Is daylight saving time in effect? box unchecked I have clicked the "Change my Account Options" until my clicking finger bleeds. In fact, I tried it standing on my head once, and got my dog to do it a couple times too, as a control mechanism. Just admit it...you're discriminating against me because of my sheep shagging heritage. You're in league with Haliburton and Bush. You're brainwashed by the Queen and her black rood. Stop it! Revised: The page said that if I was an hour out, to check Is daylight saving time in effect? , so I did. It changed the time to the correct time, but the problem persists. Still fusked. I'd like to see all posts date and time stamped using the same time zone so we have an absolute we can use for comparison. Quote "We have seen the enemy and he is us!". Pogo (Walt Kelly).

Charles Anthony Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 Revised: The page said that if I was an hour out, to check Is daylight saving time in effect? , so I did. It changed the time to the correct time, but the problem persists. Still fusked. Now, do the opposite: Put a check in the Auto correct DST? box and make the Is daylight saving time in effect? box unchecked. Keep your time zone the same. Finally, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the "Change my Account Options" button. Quote We do not have time for a meeting of the flat earth society. << Où sont mes amis ?
