  1. I agree--holding firm to alchohol laws (being 19 in Ontario) is ridiculous. Lets look at it this way: We can marry at 18...but cant drink at our own wedding. There's something REALLY wrong with that. Though it is working in Quebec...look at Alberta. Only 66 restaurants actually have this licence and all report that it has not been very successful at all. Would it work in Ontario? I guess thats the question. Since it is voluntary for restaurant owners to apply for this license, its not exactly the most pressing issue. Just a good topic of conversation thanx for your input!
  2. We are keeping the LCBO. It doesnt have anything to do with that. Its primarily whether people can bring their own, purchased wine into a restaurant and have it opened and drank there.
  3. *claps* I agree in reference to the "civil marriage" comment just made. Its not marriage. Its a union. Marriage has HISTORICALLY been defined as "the covenant between a man, woman and God". Period. You dont change history--especially one as old as that. Why can homosexuals be happy with "union"? They'll have the same rights. Why marriage?? Why? I dont get it.
  4. *has been laughing since the day of the election and the position re-won... ...hasnt been able to stop... ...keeps going 10 days later...* WOAH THE STATES ARE SCREWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh wow *wipes eyes* personally, if I was an American, I would do what my yank significant other did--declare yourself a libertarian and not vote for either. heh But if I couldnt do that, hell I'd take Bush over Kerry. Kerry flipped flopped SO many times, fence sitter. At least Bush kept solid with MOST of his campaigning. But its not my concern HAHAHAH!!!!!! OHHHH THOSE POOR AMERICANS! We need to go and save them all. Ready? HEAVE!
  5. Simple question: Do you think that the new BYOW is a good legislation to continue with? *curious to know what others think--just had a debate about this at a seminar* ~H.C p.s that should say LIQUOR lol my bad.
  6. Though I dont agree with my fellow conservative here (about Harris--the man was a twit) I dont think Dalton is THAT much better. They're ALL politicians--they're out for #1 and the goals of #1. Its like saying "I'd rather have Clinton over Bush"... ... sorry that makes me laugh to this day. As another Ontarian, I dont believe EITHER would be better than the other. Daltons just gonna impose new crap to this province that Harris didnt get around to. Remember--conservative is a political ideology. Just because some politicians call themselves by that term...doesnt mean they're actually out to promote those values. *cough* Harris  *cough*.
  7. First of all, we as Christians are taught to understand that ALL of the Bible is God's inspired Word. Since Christ Himself did not write it, he would obviously allow other writings to be submitted...because Matt, Mark, Luke and John werent around during Old Testament...the Old Testament is the basis of the New Testament and the New Covenant. The works of St. Paul in his letters to the Thesselonians or the Romans or whomever, are also God's own inspired work. Further study and analysis of Paul's letters only SUPPORT what the Gospel's themselves say. We only derrive our ethics from Christ--thats what makes us Christian. EVERY ethic, whether is it our sexuality or abortion, is traceable to Christ and his Gospel. Once again, I'd like you to present to me which ethic you believe is not. Or more than one. Heck, all of them I'd be pleased to show you! Peace! ~H.C
  8. Well Im not muslim but I am a woman and all I have to say is that if those women CHOOSE to continue wearing the head scarves, NO ONE has the right to tell them not to. Also about religion breeding intolerance--goodness isnt intolerant. PEOPLE are intolerant. Period. Back to the headscarves, why dont they make $hit like this optional instead of all out BANNING it? Oppressing? I'll tell you whats oppressing....er...that'll be for another thread ~H.C
  9. First of all, Doctrine is far more than "theory". Theory is putting it VERY lightly. Secondly, yes, these doctrines are updated constantly with the new rise of many technologies and whatnot. Infact, everyone knows about Vatican II in the 60's when MAJOR reformation within the Church occurred... but thats a topic for another time. Like I said in another post, there are bad people in every organization, evil people who will hide behind the goodness that the organization wants to and, REGARDLESS of these evil doers, CONTINUES to portray and promote. So yes, they really DO have the right to continue telling us what is right and wrong. Its worked for 2000 years. Also, in reference to the ethics practices that are not those directly attributed to Christ...heh...I'd like to know what you think those are...and I will be happy to show you where those "ethics" or practices or traditions or whatever you'd like to call them, come from and ARE clearly attributed to Christ. Peace! ~H.C
  10. Thats what I dont understand. They want equal rights but at the same time, want to be recognized as a different minority. They want to be one and exclusive. Kind of double sided isnt it?
  11. Well done Stamps. Kudos to you And thats merely your opinion that they should be "dismantled". They've lasted FAR worse than this and they're they oldest Christian church dated back to the time of Christ. They've survived far more then the evils that yes, HAVE infiltrated. Makes me ill.
  12. *is still laughing*.....oh those Americans *slaps her thigh and keeps laughing* er... right...calm.
  13. First of all, there is nothing wrong with organized religion. There are bad people in EVERY organization. There are horrible people in politics. Should we turn to anarchy then? Secondly, yes, it is disgusting that there are so many bishops and whatnot using the sacred cover of the Church to use their profane and revolting and immoral acts. But just because there is a few bad apples in the barrel does not mean you have to throw out the entire case. Peace.
  14. [1] the ultra-left Pierre Elliot Trudeau LOL!!!!!!!!! [2] Trudeau openly admired Fidel Castro LOLOL!!!!!!!!!! [5] on September 11, 2001, Mr. Chretien failed to offer a genuine, heartfelt word of solace to the American people LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! [6] Paul Martin, another America hater *falls down, rolls on the floor* OH MAKE IT STOP HAHAHAAHAH!!!!!
