  1. Doubtful. Canadian bureaucrats are unlikely to release any stats that run counter to the progressive agenda.
  2. I can't be responsible for your lack of understanding of english. It seems to be a common occurrence. The data they have is continuously updated every time someone is born, gets married, files their taxes, buys a house, uses their health card, etc, etc.
  3. Actually it does: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/duress "force or threats meant to make someone do something"
  4. I'm saying making the answers to anything mandatory degrades the data. People claiming the opposite in the case of the census are full of it.
  5. To be included in the Olympics, they should at least be playing speed golf.
  6. Get out of here. Confessions obtained under duress are notoriously unreliable.
  7. If not filling out the census can lead to less government spending, that's a pretty good reason not to fill it out.
  8. So only data obtained under duress is useful?
  9. There was. I got one. So did 4.5 million other Canadians.
  10. The "National Household Survey" was the name of the long form in 2011.
  11. It's way past "edging" -- it's completely absurd.
  12. There was. 4.5 million people got them in the mail.
  13. As many as you have for your position.
  14. Right. But it was still there for everyone who thought it was important to fill out.
  15. Balanced out by the lying/not contributing liberals, socialists, and undecideds.
  16. Not my problem. They should fix that.
  17. Yes, the long form portion of the census was voluntary. Your position was that it didn't exist, which is false.
  18. Not in my experience.
  19. There absolutely was, I got one.
  20. It's strictly principle. I don't recognize the government's right to compel me to answer personal questions. None of their business. Doubly so when the basic information such as what province I live in is firmly established in several govt databases -- they do NOT need my answers. I suppose if I didn't always get the long form, it's possible i might not feel so strongly I know one guy who did his online, and just copied and pasted the questions back into the answer blanks for every question. Pretty clever, wish I had thought of that. I know another who writes factual statements that don't really answer the question: Q - "How many people reside at this residence?" A - "Not thirty-eight".
  21. "Possible"? I just throw it out. Then, when the statistics gestapo comes by to collect it, I lie and tell them I already sent it in. One thing I am considering doing, is leaving the whole form blank, EXCEPT for where it asks for my province. Manitoba still gets counted, but my personal info is left out.
  22. It never has been there, so the govt will have no extra money to spend. That's a good thing. Might cut spending accordingly, even better.
  23. It's YOUR logic that a mythical $50K will somehow be "missing".
  24. They've literally never gotten a census from me, so if I don't fill it out now, it's status quo. It won't "cost" anything.
  25. That horse-hockey. I'm already accounted for in MB's population several times over. The fact that they even CAN raise my taxes means they already know I exist.
