  1. I hadn't seen the post, but with reading it, you're continuing to rehash the same point(s) already addressed..........The F-35 was never marketed as superior to the F-22 in aerial combat

I do notice the F-35 critics have yet to address the mock aerial combat between the F-35 and F-15E.......In which the decades long dominant F-15, only bested by the F-22, was unable to even find the F-35........

you can keep that nonsense up! Only in your deflection is there any remote attachment to comparing the F-35 to the F-22. That superiority facet is one where the F-35s aren't superior to anything out there... and require the F-22s for 'in close, high maneuverability' support. You know, just like the former big-chief for the USAF said... just like that.

I've read lots of those "F-35 critics" laugh at LockMart's attempts to counter the prevailing views... with simulators!

    .

  2. Dallas, Louisiana, Minnesota incidents reveal who America's gun rights are for, critics say

Legal or not, 'if you're an African-American with a gun, you're a threat' in the eyes of law enforcement

weren't those 2 American citizens killed while doing what the NRA claims is a constitutional right? Louisiana is an open carry state... Minnesota allows concealed carry. Where's the NRA standing up for these 2... black... American's rights? Doesn't every American have a right to arm themselves without fear of being gunned down by the police! Were these not 2 "good guys" with guns?

    .

  3. .............I don't think Brexit, as outlined in the topical thread, will have a long term negative effect on the markets.......hence little effect on the F-35.......of course if the UK purchase F-35As for the RAF versus the F-35Bs it would reduce the overall purchase price for them.

of course that's what you think! Of course. Your opinion in countering those industry expert possible impacts & projections is noted. That you double-down by quoting a vested interest in purchasing even more - even more, is gold... real gold!

    .

  4. At the end of the day, ejecting from a moving aircraft is dangerous.

which is why, I presume, LockMart is looking to an alternate manufacturer and the need to retrofit/redesign to accommodate that aspect... with accompanying concerns over extended delays to (the TARGET) 'mid 2019' full-rate production. The same point you continue to ignore.

  5. wow! That's some hard-hitting investigative journalism... that the Ontario Liberals could curry such favour for such piddling amounts!!!

One was on June 9, 2014, just before the 2014 election on June 14, and was attended by Mr. Sousa. It was a small event – just 12 tickets were sold at $5,000 a piece. At least three insurance companies bought tickets.

The second one, on Oct. 5, 2015, was even smaller. Only nine tickets were sold, at $3,000 each, and there were at least five insurance companies present.

don't wait for an actual analysis of that described, "159 such private events and another 64 fundraisers"... over 3 years - raising $19.6 bmillion. You know, something that could actually address the editorial itself. I guess there might be industry reps attending some of those! It's too bad the G&M couldn't provide a summary accounting - then again, the $30K in purchased tickets for those 2 example events is "earth shattering" enough. Oh my... powerful Argus - powerful stuff!

    .

  6. It could, but of course the economic impact of BREXIT is but a short-medium term uncertainty........none the less, a decreased pound could be offset by a split purchase resulting in a mixed fleet for the RAF and RN FAA......a mixed fleet of F-35s.

uhhh... your quoted boy (chomping at the bit to buy... more), somehow, doesn't manage to factor Brexit! :D Considering the broad reference I threw out there drew an analogy to the U.S. sequester, I was sure you would actually address it - you know, that sequester thingee that significantly impacted/impacts upon U.S. military budgets.

your projected invincibility for the F-35 program remains strong... remains resolute! Good on ya.

    .

  7. The ~140 lbs weight limitation on the F-35 seat is the same current limitation on our current Hornets and the Super Hornet........in one of the other threads (I think in discussion with you, but it could have been OGFT) I provided a graphic of the "impact" of the bottom weight limitations for USAF service.......IIRC, it would effect ~5% of males and ~15% of females, granted it would likely have a greater impact in Asian service......but for Canada, no difference then the current bottom weight limits.

huh! "~140 lbs"??? This article speaks to "pilots under 200 lbs"... and this very recent article speaks to delays and supply chain/work agreement impacts. Now... I did mention an impact on that most questionable 'mid 2019' full-rate production target date - I've got my crack research team out looking for that reference... stay tuned. Somehow in your reply you failed to address this point.

    .

Hey now, has the lethal Super Hornet oxygen generation faults been solved yet? ;)

testy much! :D You also confuse me as principally a Super Hornet proponent... I'm the AnythingButF35 guy.

    .

  8. How is sending a retired aircraft to a museum "feeding the gap"? The RCAF has been retiring Hornets no longer suitable to fly for decades now.....so become "gate guards", some become static training aides and some become beer cans and razors.

oh pleeese! It was a joke... lighten up. A joke and a chance to highlight NORAD and the museum - if you get a chance, check it out; there are other Canadian planes there!

and here I thought bumping the thread might get you to finally comment on the last post you chose to ignore!

  9. I like this reader response to the simsub issue and American programming (Super Bowl):

well... I guess if you think your banal (and dated) reference to simultaneous substitution, particularly focused on "Super Bowl commercials", is speaking to the threads emphasis on the future of Canadian tee-vee! It's always so telling when you resort to the need to play out your agenda with such frivolous efforts as this. Wow... some Canadians want to catch those commercials live - go figure! You know, those commercials from foreign (non-US)-owned brands like H&M (Sweden), Axe and Danone (France), SodaStream and Wix (Israel), Clash of Clans’ Supercell (Finland)... like Samsung and L’Oreal... from such automotive industry leaders as Toyota, Maserati, Hyundai, Nissan, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz... like KIA, Honda, Volkswagen and Jaguar...

and let's not forget those U.S.-based advertisers, like PepsiCo, Anheuser-Busch, etc., that actually chose to buy ad time on the Canadian broadcasts of the Super Bowl... apparently Canadians are just as important to them, as they are to you!

speaking of that global world-wide audience for the Super Bowl (some 40-45 million non-U.S. viewers), there's football... and then there's the 'beautiful game' football, the real football, where some 3.2 billion viewers watched the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Let those ~165 million Americans watch their Super Bowl... just make sure those Super Bowl commercials are available live to Canadians!

    .

  10. Incredibly, the CRTC's "Let's Talk TV: A Conversation with Canadians" process has yielded procedures to complain about simsub errors while watching American programming.

Substantial ? Compared to what ?

please! No need for you to dredge up a dated Jan, 2015 reference. In keeping with my prior post that highlighted the void of news category shows within the U.S. top 30 rankings... in keeping with that broad intellectually lacking and insular stereotype for Americans, your post provides the perfect related hook. Here, let the waldo bring you forward/current to June 15, 2016 and relate the relevance of simultaneous substitution in a regulatory framework: Broadcasting Regulatory Policy CRTC 2016-224 --- Policy framework for local and community television

Licensees have a duty to serve the public interest in return for using the public airwaves and the privilege of holding a licence. In the case of conventional television stations, privileges such as distribution on the basic service, the right to broadcast local advertising and simultaneous substitution go hand in hand with the responsibility to provide local programming. Further, given that a vibrant, free and responsible news ecosystem is a public good, licensees must ensure that the news and analysis they broadcast meets a high standard, particularly at the local level.

simultaneous substitution - a privilege for licensees; one that requires, in turn, an assurance that, "news and analysis broadcasted meets a high standard". Why yes, thank you... thank you very much: we have high standard news broadcasted... and per your provided Numeris rankings - we apparently watch it too!

    .

  11. speaking of Great Britain - waddabout the impact of Brexit on UK military spending... or across Europe proper for that matter? Why... forecasts are rosy for an increase in the export of Britain's own military arms sales... the dropping pound and all. However, "experts" forecast a significant decrease in overall military budgeting... so... with a dropping pound, the F-35 becomes more expensive potentially impact on total procurement numbers and overall cost for the F-35. For Defense Firms, Brexit Could Be Europe’s Sequester

    .

  12. Indeed....F-35's are strutting their stuff at Farnborough 2016....here it dances the old AV8B Harrier nay nay:

airshows are particularly good for 'smoke and mirrors'! But hey now, I just read the latest 'cock-up' with F-35 injection seats is set to shift so-called "full rate" production another year ahead... into latter 2020! (but then again, who gave 2019 any legitimacy anyways... well, other than LockMart and its fanboys?).

oh my! And the best is yet to come as the most rigorous and complex testing still awaits. Talk about reinforcing that CF-18 capability gap and the need for some form of "interim relief", hey!

    .

  13. National Numeris ratings for English Canada shows strong preference for American reality TV shows. Perhaps reruns of American dramas and situation comedies lose favour during the warm Canadian summer:

    http://assets.numeris.ca/Downloads/June%2020,%202016%20-%20June%2026,%202016%20%28National%29.pdf

 hey now! When you need a go-to... go-to your favoured weekly Numeris ratings! Now for those who still watch much tee-vee, here's an interesting point of departure when comparing to the latest top ranked U.S. broadcast shows. That Canadian Numeris listing has 6 news category shows within the top 30... meanwhile, in keeping with that broad intellectually lacking and insular to the world stereotype for Americans, there are 0... zeero... news category shows within the U.S. top 30 rankings. Oh my!

    .

  14. Sure...just like the Canadian mining corps and oil services contractors quickly to follow. Smells like...money !

why... this rings of the many related past posts where you speak to Paul Martin in the desert tent! Seems my recollection has you forever talking up Iraqi "Canadian oil service contracts"... I believe your deflecting way to shift responsibility for the failed invasion to others. And then... why the waldo put his crack research team into gear and showed you exactly the degree of that quite minuscule number/amount of Canadian firms secured contracts. Let me know if you'd like me to search for that particular summary accounting post. However, you have added in a slight new wrinkle here with reference to, "Canadian mining corps contractors". Please elaborate - thanks in advance!

  15. The NRA's response with regards to the Minnesota shooting:

    The entire message:

considering the number of times the NRA has "shot itself" with premature comments... looks like it's learned at least one thing! By the by, I was particularly taken with your comment that mentioned ISIS as a possible contributor - but had you throw in your covering caveat, "who knows". When you mention it with that type of caveat, does the caveat really mean anything? :D

    .

  16. Could be........or ISIS trained.....or played a bunch of video games, who knows?

in police negotiations, shooter/sniper claimed to be U.S. Army veteran... lots of Facebook sourced pics of the guy in uniform. It's a good thing there are no other potential disgruntled black U.S. military trained persons out there taking exception to police killings of blacks. So now... a CNN media talking head is playing up the guy as a 'lone wolf' and... and... that this doesn't meet the "U.S. standard" for terrorism labeling. Say what?

How the USA PATRIOT Act redefines "Domestic Terrorism"

Section 802 of the USA PATRIOT Act (Pub. L. No. 107-52) expanded the definition of terrorism to cover ""domestic,"" as opposed to international, terrorism. A person engages in domestic terrorism if they do an act ""dangerous to human life"" that is a violation of the criminal laws of a state or the United States, if the act appears to be intended to: (i) intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination or kidnapping. Additionally, the acts have to occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States and if they do not, may be regarded as international terrorism.

  17. However, it's funny to see the people who were terribly wrong be bitter about it and lash out at those who were absolutely right.

what's even funnier is to read the foreign interloper so taken aback that anyone would question or challenge his perception that the U.S. has carte blanche to just go rogue while squealing "might makes right" and "get out of the way... we've got a regime to change"! Blowback has "questionable intellect" American's so petrified they're willing to vote for an idiot, charlatan fraud like Trump!

    .

  18. The President who whether he likes it or not is the leader of the nation made a comment that the shootings were not isolated and are indicative of systemic racism in policing.

First off I always found the word "systemic" to be one of the most over-used and meaningless of words. No one knows what it means. Its a generalize stereotype when used. The way Obama uses it, its a sweeping stereotype that all police are racist.

Its used to express an unproven, subjective allegation that asks you to assume something wide-spread and in this case racism.

Now if I were to use a stereotype to say a negative thing about all black people. we'd call it racism. Say it about all police couching it with the word systemic. and its acceptable.

I don't buy that and I think once again Obama has acted in an absolutely irresponsible manner stating a sweeping condemnation of police he knows, he absolutely knows will inflame and incite anger.

    .

    .

Well you would think the President would say-people, calm down. Its painful. I know you are afraid and frightened. Let's stay calm and find out what happened. Let's try learn from this. Let's work together to find solutions.

No not Bam Bam. He's a lame duck and he's soon to return to being a civilian and all he gives a damn about is his legacy. He's been called a sell out by many blacks and I believe he's used these shootings to say something popular to blacks in a time of extreme emotion to get him some brownie points for when he leaves office.

I question his judgement, his words and I think they were crass, opportunistic and designed to make himself look black after years of being accused of acting white by blacks.

    .

    .

As for Obama, I think he is what he always was, someone who thinks himself a black activist militant but had no problem sucking the white tit of the White House to get what he was given. His sudden black militancy is oh so convenient.

you can write a brazillion words but somehow can't manage to actually quote/link to what you claim U.S. President Barack Obama stated. Imagine that! Until you put forward a quote that aligns with your screed, I call BS. Here... let me quote you something he actually stated... something that busts your BS narrative, big time!

“All Americans should be deeply troubled by the fatal shootings of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Philando Castile in Falcon Heights, Minnesota. We’ve seen such tragedies far too many times, and our hearts go out to the families and communities who’ve suffered such a painful loss.

“Although I am constrained in commenting on the particular facts of these cases, I am encouraged that the U.S. Department of Justice has opened a civil rights investigation in Baton Rouge, and I have full confidence in their professionalism and their ability to conduct a thoughtful, thorough, and fair inquiry.

“But regardless of the outcome of such investigations, what’s clear is that these fatal shootings are not isolated incidents. They are symptomatic of the broader challenges within our criminal justice system, the racial disparities that appear across the system year after year, and the resulting lack of trust that exists between law enforcement and too many of the communities they serve.

“To admit we’ve got a serious problem in no way contradicts our respect and appreciation for the vast majority of police officers who put their lives on the line to protect us every single day. It is to say that, as a nation, we can and must do better to institute the best practices that reduce the appearance or reality of racial bias in law enforcement.

“That’s why, two years ago, I set up a Task Force on 21st Century Policing that convened police officers, community leaders, and activists. Together, they came up with detailed recommendations on how to improve community policing. So even as officials continue to look into this week’s tragic shootings, we also need communities to address the underlying fissures that lead to these incidents, and to implement those ideas that can make a difference. That’s how we’ll keep our communities safe. And that’s how we can start restoring confidence that all people in this great nation are equal before the law.

“In the meantime, all Americans should recognize the anger, frustration, and grief that so many Americans are feeling — feelings that are being expressed in peaceful protests and vigils. Michelle and I share those feelings. Rather than fall into a predictable pattern of division and political posturing, let’s reflect on what we can do better. Let’s come together as a nation, and keep faith with one another, in order to ensure a future where all of our children know that their lives matter.”

  19. I get it there are finite resources available to operate each and every dept within our federal government.

.....Military people don't want you to worship them, call them hero's, or even shake there hand, they just want to be treated the same way our employer treats you. the just want to be equal.....

I don't recognize that you do... get it. Several times in this thread, 2 of the more prolific MLW members in these military procurement related threads have offered related comment on that fiscal reality; your described 'finite resources'. One of those 2 members is actually grounded in reality; the other just wants his toys for his preferred military branches. In any case, I may have missed it, but I've not read you challenge either of those 2 members on their statements suggesting the Canadian Army should be significantly downsized; in one case, relegated to supporting a "strong reserve force". Not quite the equal you're speaking to, yes?

    .

  20. I remember the time of the invasion, wondering why so many people were falling for this stupidity. It was so obviously based on BS. I agree that it's weird watching people gradually realize what was perfectly clear all along.

there are those that knew/projected from the onset, those that eventually realized and acknowledge their mistakes, those that now realize but won't acknowledge their mistakes... and those who could care less while gloating and relishing the next U.S. foreign policy blunder while tallying their MIC stock-market gains.
