  1. Unless of course an all together new party is formed. Lets call it the Liberal Democratic Party of Cananda, if this is what it takes to make sure the majority of Canadian voters run the country, it will happen.
  2. Like using the imaginary threat of a seperatist agenda to avoid losing what little political power you have? This seems quite popular with conservatives who indeed are bereft of any politcal aptitude. Running away and hiding behind prorogement does not = political savy, its called being a coward. Does this country really need a coward for a leader? Trudeau jr. will be our version of Obama, the sonner you accept this, the sooner you can get back to killing puppies.
  3. Wow, looking at the poll results I can tell that I'm going to butt heads with the majority of you....good times, good times. I promise to try to keep things on the on the right side of repspectful, as long as those with differing opinions, make sure logic and whats best for the majority of Canadians doesn't get left behind
  4. My vote always has been and always will be cast left of center. The logical thing to do in my mind is to vote Liberal. If another election is called I firmly believe that the majority of people who voted NDP, Green, or BQ will vote to prevent a majority conservative government. Result: Liberal majority. The Conservatives know this and will now reach out across the floor and kiss a little opposition ass in order to retain power, IMHO.
  5. My bad, my apologies, should have proof read my post, but there again 37% of the popular vote does not constitute a majority, I think we can all agree on this. yes? Can we also agree then that forming a coalition government would not be setting a prescedent? With that in mind why should the conservatives be granted another election when the previous two have resulted in minority governments? By the way this 'good chunk' is not representative of 63% of those who voted. Riddle me this, what if an election is called and yet another conservative minority government is the result, which would probably be the outcome, would it then be OK so to speak, for the Liberals and NDP to form a coalition with the support of the BQ?
  6. I respectfully disagree with this train of thought. How many elections have we had in the last 5 years? How many have resulted in a minority government? I think the prudent thing to do is let the House unfold as it should. This is the Westminster way and I don't see why we should make an exception for Harper and his Refor...Canadian Allian.....Conservatives. Let this be a lesson to the Extreme right wing that you can't lead with a carte blanch(sp) mentallity when you only hold 37% of the seats.
  7. Let me start by saying that I'm new to this forum, but by know means new to prognosticating on all things political. I would be greatful if you could please explain how 37% constitutes almost a majority? I would also like to know if anybody else here is of the same mind as I, when I say that perhaps the conservatives pander to the uneducated, ignorant, masses when using fear mongering in order to push through 'reform' style legislation? Is it not a fact that the majority of the seats held by Harper's conservatives are rural seats? Do we as a country want these ridings cramming their extremist religious ideology down our throats? Furthermore is it not fact that this proroging tactic is not dis-similar to tactics emplyed by fascist regimes throughout history?
