  1. I think that anyone could be supported other than those that served in any way, shape, or form with Mike Harris.
  2. If this was his plan, he isn't very intelligent.
  3. A neo-con dressed as a progressive...there is only one end.
  4. I was just saying why the BQ would back a coalition, not whether the BQ is a good/bad entity. As for what the people voted for, you are right, they voted in a CPC minority. Unfortunetly, Harper surrounded himself with Mike Harris failures that helped form a group that acted as if they were a majority. It is entirely constitutional and democratic in the sense of law. You may disagree with the process, but I mean, Harper was ok with the idea in 2004 when he was on the other side of things. These are turbulant times, sometimes things happen.
  5. That is up to the Governor General though isn't it. We will see how she responds. We live with the decision.
  6. Cutting a "consumption" tax right now is terrible fiscal management.
  7. There are two options. 1. Let the US do it and see how it works out 2. Be our own nation There was an interesting article in the London Free Press today mentioning how much more it costs companies to do business in Canada thanks to wages and exchange etc. It was something like +$27 a person. That is a ton. That has to be redone. I would hope that any stimulus would contain some sort of conditions that must be met.
  8. I support this post.
  9. Harper wanted to work with them in 2004 to form a Coalition of the willing.
  10. The BQ isn't included in the coalition, they are just more accepting of its ability to deliver stimulus to the economy. 18 Liberals and 6 NDP will sit in cabinet.
  11. I think the GG has to go with the coalition, especially if they staple Harper's 2004 request to it. They are using his playbook. I love it.
  12. Not cowardice, just political genius. Harper could have held power for years after the current election if he would have just accepted the fact that co-operation is necessary when you do not hold a majority. Alas, others figured it out first.
  13. PM (for the time being) Harper isn't exactly MacBeth, but it seems he has fallen to the blade of that nasty enemy named hamartia much like the Scot. At the end of the day, Harper had the ability to make minority government work for Canadians. Instead, he decided that a stronger minority was much the same as a majority. His belief in his own untouchable existance seems to be his undoing. He is/was 12 seats short.
  14. It looks like Dion and 18 Liberals, along with 6 NDP members, will constitute the new government. Hopefully this will eventually see the NDP cease to exist and allow the left to get it's groove back.
  15. Canada should't break up, neo-cons should just wake up. It is amazing what can happen in the UK, then in the USA, and now in Canada. Why do these people continue to get support? A failed Ontario Finance Minister named Federal Finance Minister was just one of many red flags to help people take notice. Maybe I am just too rational though.
