  1. Lets not forget "Manhole" We now have to call them "maintainace holes" How retarded!!! Jim
  2. This maybe a little off topic, but can somebody please tell me what "farm hands" are paid. I have heard that they can be paid less than minimum wage, is this true or not? Thanks for the info Jim
  3. Here on earth it works both ways, if you don't have an economy to serve, you probably suffer in your existence.... Jim
  4. I have not yet heard "exactly" what the illegal action was & if Walmart has been proven guilty or not of these charges. Jim
  5. I am happy for Walmart, not the victims & I am, in fact quite a nice guy, ask my non union employees. The same respect that union members quite often show their employers ? Jim
  6. Good for Walmart!!! Big blow to the unions!! Betcha the unions don't like it when they get strong armed back!!LOL. Need to work on the auto unions & "especially" the Civil service unions (& the NHLPA) next!! You can question Walmarts greed, but are these unions non-profit orgs just working for the benefit of the working people ?? I don't know if Walmart has organized crime ties either, maybe somebody could fill me in ?? Now lets look at the Quebec town & Walmart store in question. First of all, the losers. #1... the employees....students who need the money & work experience...seniors, who many of which may have just taken the job for something to keep theselves busy with....& all the other employees without jobs who are probably in the pogey line now Loser #2...the consumer who likes shopping @ Walmart (which there seems to be quite a few). I am one. I do not shop often because I hate shopping. With Walmart, I can get pretty much everything I need, one stop.....not running from store to store, all over town & paying outrageous prices BECAUSE SOME OTHER UNIONIZED EMPLOYEE NEEDS $30+/HOUR+BENIFITS+PENSION+20 SICK DAYS+6 WEEKS PAID VACATION TO PUT A SCREW IN THE PRODUCT I AM BUYING!!! Loser #3...US AGAIN..the taxpayer who is going to have to help support these former employees & their families til they get back on their feet. AND THE WINNER IS.........WALMART!!!!! Finally, a corporation that has said no to the union stranglehold!! Of course they are not totally victorious....they did have to close one of their stores in Somewhere Quebec....the unions can have the laugh there....I am sure that store closing has hurt Walmart immensely!!! I applaud those employees who vote NO to unionization, to the others...you played with fire & got burned!!! Jim
  7. How come the US does not do business with Cuba?? Just curious Jim
  8. Freedom Please enlighten us with the PERSONAL sacrifices YOU yourself have made. Answer us this as well...how much would the US like having a powerful miltary to the North ?? Y'all crap your pants over a guy who may or may not have WMDs half the world away, what if Canada had WMDs pointed in directions the US did not know about ?? I thinks its time the US started worrying about herself & the mess she is in & stick her "foreign policy" where it does belong!!! Canadians do not live in fear, that is freedom, Americans live in constant fear of the next terrorist attack, that is not being free!! Jim
  9. Willy Legal or illegal, it ain't goin away!! May as well legalize.....now put that in your pipe & smoke it!! Jim
  10. Hugo Where & when exactly did I defend & advocate Saddam????? No where did I say that. Open your eyes...reeeaaad the words Hugo. I said I was against the war in Iraq, I did not say "I love Saddam!!" BTW, whats being done about those "inhumane butchers" in Rwanda, China et al???? Jim
  11. KK lets get this straight. I do not condone terrorism or accept it. I even think Canada should have a large # of troops hunting Al-qaida members & trashing their training camps. I DO NOT however, agree with the war in Iraq & don't blame Spain for leaving. The war in Iraq & the war on terrorism are 2 different things. In Iraq they are looking for WMDs, so we were told. It almost seems the hunt for OBL is old news. If the US wants to get to the terrorists, they should be in SA, not Iraq. Just wanted to clarify these things with you because everyone seems to be getting a little off topic. Jim
  12. Well, I think we all are starting to get off topic, which was the right for any persons to work anywhere that they choose. Plain & simple, Canadians & the rest of the free world should be allowed to work anywhere, union or not. I know the steel erectors union is very stringent, where if you don't belong to the union, you don't work in that industry. To me that is dictatorship. Any company, union or non, should be allowed to bid on any jobs, contracts, etc in Canada. City of Toronto won't allow non union companies to bid on construction jobs, as I heard many other counties, townships are the same. I feel this is very serious infringement of basic constitutional rights & basic human rights, not to mention, makes me want to puke!! Like I said before, there was a time for unions, now it is time to control them Jim
  13. This wouldn't be considered a "biased" opinion would it......? Jim
  14. The job security issue is the biggest joke of them all. There is no such thing as "job security" no matter what industry is. If their were such a thing as job security, it should be up to the employee to perform well enough to secure his/her job themselves. Employers do not control the markets & if a corp has to lay off employees, well.... thats life I would like some actual modern day examples of who some of these abusive employers are....please enlighten me....because I know of many, many abusive employees....some that steal from employers, have a "don't give a *&^#" attitude, lazy, drink, use drugs, shall I continue????? Try and fire these people??....good luck!! I said this earlier in this thread that nowadays there needs to be a "employERS union" that represents the rights of employers for getting constantly screwed over by bad employees & there is a lot more of that than there is employees getting screwed by their employer!!! Jim
  15. When did I say I hate teachers?? I hate the fact that they are constantly looking for more & more & more when they already make a great wage & excellent benefits, but still want more & more & more...... NO!!!! THIS SHOULD NOT BE A RIGHT FOR CIVIL SERVANT WORKERS AT ANY LEVEL!!! THE RIGHT TO HOLD TAXPAYERS HOSTAGE FOR SERVICES WE PAY FOR IS ABSURD & JUST PLAIN WRONG!!! Geo W Bush is not my hero, he is the farthest thing from it!! My personal political hero was Mike Harris, former premier of Ontario....the guy that make Ontario prosper like no one ever seen before & still is....for a while. Soon the Liberals are going to *$^# things up with their usual "throw money at the problem" stance they take when opposed!! I know teachers are selfish. Now pull your head out of yer @$$ & think for one second. If tax cuts are not given to large corporations, said corp will go do all their business elsewhere....leaving you & 1000s of others unemployed. It is a good idea to give large corps tax cuts. More tax $$$ are generated by collecting smaller amounts off of a large # of people (employees) than taking big $$ of off 1 corporation. When the corp save tax $$ they can expand & hire more workers, when they fork out more tax $$, they go somewhere else. You got to look at the big picture, not just your little union world where you get lots for doing little!! Give your head a shake pal, I already have won this argument!!! And quit comparing everything to NAZI Germany, thats part of the reason you "unionist" make yourselves look so bad.....sad Jim
