  1. America has assimilated waves of immigrants over the centuries, but what if the immigrants steadfastly refuse to be assimilated? What if they are intent on doing the assimilating? What if muslims see Western culture as corrupt, unworthy and well, un-islamic? These immigrants are not your grandfather's immigrants!
  2. Most muslims in Canada and the States are simply biding their time until they have the numbers that they have in countries like Holland or the Swedish city of Malmo. Once they reach "critical mass" then they will start making demands on non-muslims and we will see the number of "honour" killings go through the roof. Do a Google on the word "taqqiya"; that will explain the relative quiet in the muslm community in North America...for now.
  3. No, don't think I have met Morris. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
  4. You know a political party is on the ropes when they start slinging mud. The Liberals are desperate to dig up anything from Harper's past to hurt him; but then, they have no faith in their leader and no real platform to stand on, so who can really blame them?
  5. Perhaps you should meet my neighbour: twenty one years old, perfectly fit and very proud to be on welfare. From what I've seen, most of his money goes to beer. I've overheard two young guys talking on the subway about who got their welfare cheque first and how much they get; it's a source of pride for them. The system needs to be tightened up!
  6. I love that bit about "what the true majority of Canadians want". If the true majority of Canadians are so opposed to Harper then they can quit fighting on stage left and vote Liberal, unless they really don't know what they want after all.
  7. Wrong again. The ISI was created by the newly independent Pakistan partly as a means of controlling the various tribes within that country and partly as a means of exercising overall control over the Pakistani military in its conflicts with India, particularly over Kashmir. Re your definition of "Afghani" - always go to Wikipedia, the definitive source for all information!
  8. The ISI has a very shady past ever since the founding of Pakistan. I do know that not a single Afghani was involved in 9/11 unless it was in the pocket of one the hijackers: the people of Afghanistan are called Afghans, their currency is the Afghani. Regardless of your ignorance of that country and your inability to distinguish its people from their coinage, I should point out to you that the Taliban allowed Arabs and other foreigners to train in Afghanistan for terrorist operations. The Taliban are the creation in large part of the ISI.
  9. Bingo! Every time I read a newspaper story about Afghanistan, it's negative. The media seem to have decided as a group to put a negative spin on this mission. It's too bad because I think having NATO in Afghanistan is better for the Afghans than having the Taliban in charge (whipping women for having their hand or foot exposed from underneath a burka, refusing to allow girls to attend school, banning TV, radio and newspapers, etc). If you want to find the real sh*t disturber in Afghanistan, look no further than Pakistan and its secret service, the ISI.
  10. Just because Obama was cheered by Germans and Frenchmen doesn't translate into votes by Americans. This was a nice trip he took, but that's all it was, a nice trip.
  11. This may be seen as the State infringing on the rights of the Individual or it may just be the French government protecting its citizens from a group of people who are totally incompatible with Western society and who refuse to adapt to their new country. Tough call either way, but given the riots in France over the last couple of years, I can't really blame the French for this.
  12. I lived in the States (NC) for two years and while that country may be de facto bilingual, the people don't like it. I also wonder what would happen if this trucker were involved in an accident and had to call 911! With his English at a grade 3 level, he had better pray for a bilingual operator!
  13. If we do have an election, the resulting number of seats will likely be the same. Neither the CPC nor the LPC can get the support for a majority, the Liberals especially with Dion at the helm. The only real result I can see would be a change of leadership in the Liberal Party.
