  1. Whats that Scott? How much insurance did you buy? Are you walking around with dollar signs "bugging out of your eyeballs?" Does your wife actually trust living with you with what the likes of you are scheming? Drea do you trust that "so-called" loving husband of yours?
  2. Your verbal diahrea already makes me sick....
  3. Have you ever seen a native "buy lots of insurance" and commit the ultimate major crime against their loved ones jst to have money? Honestly do some non-native women actually trust living with such phoniesss?
  4. I don't think the attitude will ever change as expressed bypeople like Drea. The indians have paid dearly for everything ever since the first European boat people arrived. When the europeans got off the boat they smelled like pee and poop. They then had to murder, rape the women and children, squat on the land, commit acts of arson, to get the land so they can have their tax money to whine about. You're telling the natives to grow up with your comment at the end of your posting? It's the other way around? The right-wingers including some of those so-called leaders who are all worse then kids with thei assbackward attitudes. If you don't like it Drea go back to Europe and when you get off the boat you'll surely smell like pee and poop.
  5. I chuckled at Adelle! What is with those Albertans? Must be something in the air over there, or I here that province is "rippin'." I find your comments interesting Melanie about skin color. Pedersen is an interesting case...what about cops who deliberately commit acts of violence against natives. And yes, charter, I know of cases where grown men (big tough rednecks), attack native children, and teens. In small communities, white teens who violently, prey on native drunks. Why? It is the mind-set that they were taught (read between the lines here). Back to Pederson, this guy seemed to think he was "above the law." He also probably thought like others do but it backfired, that the cops were going to just let it slide because of his race--I think it's called "white privilege."
  6. Doesn't feel very good to get labelled with one sweeping generalization does it? The natives are suject to that daily. I'm not going to list names because I've made a point...yes it is unfair to say that you are all like daranged murders who share you're skin color
  7. You missed the point too! If you're so intellegent let's see your definition of what Canadian Culture is?
  8. Drea totally missed it--duhh--what does it matter if it is in the USA--the point is that you can't really define what Canadian culture is. You have your mickey mouse icons, silly little songs like "take me out to the ballgame," Don CHerry--good grief, a history that involved murder, rape, arson, squatting, child molestation. And Angus, is may sound like crap to you but at least it's authentic and not the mickey mouse crap that you call culture All you poor little boys, can't you come up with anything better...andI'm not Chauchee...Im a person who speaks the truth and when it really hits home you have people like Drea, Angus, Borg, hitting their keyboards hard, almost wrecking them, getting mad over the truth and coming back with childish jibberish
  9. Traps, weirs, and fish-wheels were being used here and some of the earliest explorers were facinated by them as they were used in rivers with strong currents like the Fraser and Skeena River. Who knows where technological advancements may have went had the boats of Europe not arrived? In NZ, Abel Tasman observed the Polynesians using huge driftnets that were made of fabrics from a plant called flax.
  10. Wasn't that class making masks for halloween? You have to laugh because you have nothing in comparison! Opps! Except "Take me Out To the ballgame," and "The Simpsons" and oh by the way: What is the significance of the Square Dance? Your role models include Scott Pederson, Jefferey Dahlmer, JW Gacey, the pig farmer....
  11. No! The last time I was in "boredom sets in forums" like this was about 6 yrs ago in the National Post forums...there was some twit named Ben who despised indians....I think National Post pulled the forums because Ben sure made non-natives look like idiots
  12. French people overseas would argue this, I was told that they can't even understand the form of french spoken in Quebec. It evolved to some sort of NA version. Yes, that's Canadian culture! Singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" and The Simpsons and Walt Disney characters. The natives have something to be proud of with their traditional songs, dances, stories, regalia, totems, etc. Natives also have a fullhead of hair, that some lightbulbs totally despise, and they don't have to lay in some sun machine just to get that wonderful complexion--some people despise natives over childlike issues I also wanted to say that I cannot believe that people use WIKIS as a form of reference. They are updated and editted by some brainwave lightbulbs who don't always have the facts straight. Then some rightwing nut politician comes along and reads and believes what they read
  13. There was also the elaborate fish traps and weirs on the westcoast for salmon fishing and there was fishwheels Mr Dancer...hmmmh another "Lightbulb" moment from a "super-bright" poster
  14. WDW...who claimed 100% of the country for free in 1867? Pathetic. Without the land or the resources you wouldn't have tax money....simple as that...so quit whining about something you should be grateful for...if you don't like it here...jump on your boat and go back to Europe. It's not your technology...it was the guy who invented it! I find it interesting how you won't accept certain actions of your ancestors--murder, rape, child molestation, arson, all that negative stuff, but for something like technology you'll say our "whiteman technology" from the past--how convenient--your argumenst are feable. You still missed the point that many non-aboriginals spend that huge DIA budget and that many aboriginal people are tax-payers that do not live on reserves. Your argument about hunting and fishing, the only thing I can say is why do lightbulb thinkers like you give natives heck over the laws that were written by whiteman? That's pretty dozy! What are you on? GO smoke another one, or really look at all the fine details before you blabber your yap off on a childlike rant So yes, yo and your buddy are just figments of your imagination
  15. I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this but I wanted to start one on the topic. I think the book should be thrown at the Roy's for their actions. It is sick! Especially for a game. The NHL, and junior leagues need to do something before someone gets killed on the ice--the hell with what Don Cherry thinks.
  16. Angus, aren't the natives subject to "sweeping generalizations" all the time? Not all natives are alike as I stated in a previous post, there were many off-reserve, non-status, Bill C 31 natives who worked hard for everything and were subject to taxes etc. How do you think they feel when "un-informed' , whitey with a bozo-brain" light-bulb, make the accusations that all natives have a free-ride? As for oral traditions, you can slam it all you want but at least they have a tradition to be proud of. Please give an example instead of making one "sweeping generalization" of how they've adjusted oral history to accomodate present needs? Although science has it's positives, it is unfortunate there has to be fatheads involved. Why are they spending money on trying to prove that natives came from the Old World?Isn't that fabricated BS at it's best? They can try and try to prove otherwise but it still won't change the fact that aboriginal people were here at the time of contact...in other words they really were the first people to North America.
  17. Well you sort of see the point--you have collateral! Native houses can't get you that same "privilege." As for hunting and fishing, maybe the Europeans hunted rabbits but they get to call it sports and recreation over here yet when a native uses another technology they are called assimilated. Aren't those so-called sportman assimilated as indians? Considering this, the aboriginal culture is alive and well in canada you assimilated european you As for your last question, you may have heard of one incident when some "European Boat People" were stuck in the ice on the St Lawerence--they would've died if it was not for the Huron Natives who gave them nourishment through a tonic that they made from shrubs, roots, berries etc. It was later found out that the newcomers lacked Vitamin C and had it not been for the Huron the newcomers would've perished and you wouldn't be here to complain. Later on, before they set sail again from Europe, they loaded down their ships with lemons and limes to avoid the Vitamin C deficiency and also, avoid telling the people back home that a bunch of indians saved their butts. You can guess the origin of the nickname certain Europeans received after that
  18. And without the land the government or the taxpayer would have "diddly-squat." And that's what it boils down to is the land....what you complaining about you got free land and a free-country so you can have your tax money and the government can have land to govern. I know many non-natives who live in pig-sties...that's what i mean--people like you believe everything you see and read in the mass media. As for the wealthy man--he probably bought another car just so his son won't walk or ride transit just like the indians
  19. Right on charter! You nailed it! The government in reality is breaking the law...a fact that many people do not see because the massmedia always make the natives look bad. Borg also stated "while they live in our homes!" Holy smokes that myth was generally dispelled in the early 90s in the Reform Party days! Where've you been? The homes on reserve are not owned by the people who live in them and therefore have no collateral. What are you complaining about? You get to use collateral on your home so you can go to the bank and buy all your toys and comouflage clothes to play, and do what the indians were doing before your ancestors got here--hunt and fish. Historically you got "free-land" and a "free-country" where the natives helped your ancestors move here, and after they settled them in, the "backstabbers booted them onto" reserves, after they wiped most of them out with your diseases. Be grateful Borg
  20. This is so true! You should have seen when the Mohawk Crisis was happening. NASTY NASTY NASTY!! Then there was Gustafsen Lake and the fisheries stuff on the EastCoast. There was an elderly native guy hitching a ride to town one day and some middle-aged, whiteguy, screeched his tires, jumped out and started screaming at this guy over the Eastcoast fishery. What an idiot! Big tough guy at that! As for Bruce Allen, he needs to remember where his ancestors came from--Europe in a boat! If he doesn't like it here, in his own words: "Shut up or fit in!" There should be free-tickets to send all whiners back to Europe...
  21. Advanced? Civilized? The last Residential Schools closed in the 1970s--the last of the cultural genocide...not very long ago. I find it interesting how some conveniently forget about all the atocities committed against aboriginal people in the building of this nation. How do you define Canadian Culture while factoring in aboriginal people, newfies, dutchmen, rednecks, Don Cherry, Hockey Night in Canada, or, is it singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame?" Why is it when recreationalists throw spears or use bows and arrows, canoe, kayak etc it's called sports, and an aboriginal person who uses modern technology is called assimilated? I'd be curious to hear your definition? It wasn't very long ago since the first boats from Europe arrived here....were they autmotically Canadian as soon as they stepped off the boats or, were they assimilated Canadians from Britain or France?
  22. It works both ways though. Go back further than the boats at Halifax etc. There was much done that isn't even covered thoroughly in history books. The aboriginal people helped the first explorers into what is now western canada. They helped them find a route for the railroad and once they got the railway done, they forced the indians onto reserves--Prince George is one example. You say "earn the respect?" What do you mean by this? "accusing the government and Canadians of being racist." Geez, for crying out loud who is responsible for writing the Indian Act? The most racist piece of legislation in Canadian History. The natives had nothing to do with writing that and yet people like you and Borg will outright condemn natives over something they had nothing to do with in the first place. Some of you say, I have no regrets about the actions of our ancestors. Thats a feable argument as far as Im concerned because everything they did was for you accept to deal with the issue responsibly--like cowards they shuffled it onto our generation to do it....so whether you like it or not, you must accept what they did including writing the Indian Act and putting it into law..to me self-government is moving a way from the Indian Act and the big question is I don't think it will ever be gone because it has worked in the favour of non-aboriginals for a long time so why would they want to change it?
  23. Who would want to be a bouncer anyways? Punch someone out for a cheap thrill and get blood all over themselves-yuck the risk they take...all those diseases associated with blood....
  24. Well Borg is an example of the kind of attitude out there--probably the majority which is sad...that's a huge problem that many don't even see. Ignorance on the issue has probably wasted billions and billions of taxpayers dollars. Many probably don't even realize that the Indian Act created segments of aboriginal people...off reserve, non-treaty, non-status, Bill C-31, who pay taxes like everybody else. The whole tax thing is a wash in gray and creates attitudes like Borg. What is boils down too, if a company, or, business was on reserve it would be tax-free. Gas and cigarettes are tax-free! All the other stuff regarding tax is BS. All the laws were written in the late 1800s when the boat people of Europe arrived and settled this country with aboriginals helping them when they got here. These laws are still in effect today. Self-government has become a general term as well and to me it is the elimnation of the huge bureacracy called Indian Affairs--which employs mostly non-aboriginal people in cities like Vancouver and Edmonton. Get rid of the DIA and you'll be eliminating all those jobs that feed of the DIA budget and the indians don't see that l money anyways...if the indians have it so good on the reserve then why don't people like Borg create a Federal Department of Non-ABoriginal Affairs and give himself all the so-called benefits?
