Census - Mandatory or Voluntary
Alta4ever replied to Keepitsimple's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
BS lets use the province of Alberta for example, there is one supervisor for ever 4 front line staff in the civil service. In the real world ie private enterprise the ratio is 1 to 30. Why is that, are government workers just that incompetent? I doubt it. -

So lets get this straight you what a government bureaucracy to investigate the government bureaucracy to see if government is the most efficient way of delivering a service. Thats like BP investigating BP over an oil spill, its going to be so impartial. Census Canada is just an extension of this flawed thinking. Government does have an agenda of making government bigger, in otherwords the governments answer for any problem is well more government. -

Good so you won't bitch when they aren't there to help during a natural disaster. You won't bitch when Europe annexes our northern territories and their resource wealth, when they fish our shores dry. When our allies fail to help us because we failed to live up to our NATO obligations. Yep to an idiot like you our forces and their equipment is a useless expense. Unlike you the majority of Canadians want the security of sovereignty that our forces provide, and a flimsy piece of paper not fit for wiping you a$$ is not going to protect our sovereignty and Canadians from jack shit. -

BS, money is used more effectively by private charities. All the government does is add another level of expense. Just think how much would be saved if people donated directly rather then having money pass through four or five layers of government each taking a wage before it hits those it suppose to help. You are you one of these ever so smart people that thinks the cost of government doesn't exist. -

Yes I would help them. I have helped people who need it. -

Really its not that easy.....then why have I done it? Why have so many Canadians done it? Remember I live in a province where Canadians came from all over looking for work with no promise of a job a place to live or food on the table. I know your not old enough to realize this yet but life is not easy, and its not suppose to be. You are owed nothing in life by anyone, and if you can't come to this realization life will become very miserable for you. IF you can afford a mortgage you can afford to put food on the table you just can't afford the extras. -

Got news for you, most military personal are conservatives, or don't you realize that? They know that most liberals are two faced pricks who pretend to be concerned with the military as they gut funding, fail to replace antiquated equipment, and send them into combat ill prepared. Its no wonder most military personnel and staff have quite the disdain for both the NDP the Liberals and their leaders. You also realize that the entire staff of the DND didn't change over with appointments, just a few at the top. Your so full of BS its not even funny. -

What is the concept of moving to a city with a lower cost of living foreign to you. What it says if you can't afford to live in Vancouver...MOVE! -

Did you read your link, it isn't liberalism, it was for social liberalism, if you read it connects liberalism to progressives and socialists. So in other words for you liberal thinking is soft form of socialism. -

It does put food on the table, sell the house and move somewhere you can afford the housing, instead of living in one of the highest cost of living jurisdictions in Canada, if the cost of living isn't so high you can afford food. -

Your not a liberal minded person. A liberal minded person would suggest that maybe they sell their over priced vancouver home and move somewhere the cost of living isn't as high. -

Holy crap did you read your article nicky, stupid stupid stupid. The UBC professor that you tried to hold to such a high stand is an ex NDP candidate. Purely political. This is too funny, the paper accuses the Conservative party if making wiki edits, but it was someone(s) inside the civil service DND. The DND wants this aircraft, its just the mealy mouthed politicians of the left who seem to always want to deny the military the resources it deserves to do the job Canadians demand of it. -
We need search engines for each country, each party.

How many hours of lost production do they have when they are calling and harassing people to fill out the mandatory census. Sorry but it will get smaller. -

The fact they have a vested interest in keeping their jobs, the civil service doesn't like it when governments try to reduce the size of their bureaucracy. -

You do realize that the DND draws up the requirements for equipment for them to meet a specific purpose, while operating under complicated field conditions that many other countries simply do not have. For someone who trusts everything the civil service says as laid out in the thread about the census, why do you not trust DND to be able to pick the right equipment for the task at had.
