I went to school it was a bloody waste of time, after six months left. Paid my meager student loans, got a job. (btw I started at the same level as all the university morons) Bought a house and paid off a mortgage in the time between when I left university and my friends did. 10 years later I was still well ahead of my university friends. Now a few more years have gone by most that i know are stuck in middle management or have gone back to take a trade because they couldn't anything with the university degree, and I have but one step left to take, CEO. BTW I tend to end up firing more know it all 20 know it alls with University degrees because their university degree didn't actually teach them how to do the job, yet they think they can run the company.

Transport huh, I don't know about where you live but here the DOT is provincial as well. Giving international money is not bureaucracy, and smart smart smart, cut funding to protecting our fisheries further damaged the maritime economies as the Europeans moved in and over fished our cod stocks(or don't you remember) , forcing the maritime's provincial governments to deal with more loss of revenues through loss of tax base. But the liberals were oh so smart and did it on their own pffft. As I said they just passed the problem on to the provincial governments of the day to deal with.

I guess you missed the part in that article about Alberta hospitals which would be provincial government, and in Ontario schools, which would also fall under the provincial government having to make the cuts and hard decisions. Even if the journalist is an idiot, most of the story still proves my point.

BTW when the liberals were in power they didn't reduce the size of government to pay down debt, they did on the backs of the provinces by reducing transfer payments. So really it was the provincial governments of the day that made the effort to reduce the debt by not increasing provincial taxes or running large deficits in the 90's. You probably aren't old enough to remember that though.
