  1. We are founded on democratic prinicpals one of those is that the people elect the government. Copalition governments have been most often used in times of golbal war like the great war and wwII. If this was the tories doing this you would find yourslef wanting an election not backroom created government with no mandate.
  2. I had the wrong year and wrong war. Great Canadian Coaches - Great Canadians, Coach 1815He went to China in 1938 to bring medical care to Mao Tse-tung's armies. ... Tommy Douglas 1904 - 1986 The fiery little pastor-turned-politician led North ...
  3. Democratic Governments are not created in backrooms they are voted for in democractic elections by the people of the country. If the Liberals and the NDP thought that Canada had lost confidence in the government they should be willing to ask for a vote from the people. IF they were right they would win the election and form government.
  4. Did you know that Tommy Douglas was a traitor he was helping the communist chinese while our troops were dying at their hands in Korea.
  5. Is that why our health system isn't anywhere near the top?
  6. Whether Harper miscalculated or not, he did do one thing he showed that when you pull pig back out of the puiblic trough, they bit blindly. No that its been removed we are hearing noise on small issues as liberals are smelling the entitlements of power and are will ing ot try to subvert democracy to get it.
  7. Glee what glee, we know that it means yet again the west is going to have to send more money to Ont and QB for their problems. I know of no one out here who whats to see a hardship befall other provinces becasue we know that we in the west that will have to pay for it.
  8. Better start looking in your own back yard.
  9. Wow smallc look at this I thought no economists agreed with me, or are we going to back to some or most. I just saw this on this forum no less as I have finnally worked my way down the threads, very similiar to what I wrote, before I even knew this existed. Please go ahead and look, I bet you won't like it though. http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index....st&p=364406
  10. I guess you never read the clarity act. we do have rules now for the disinatgration of this great land of our.
  11. Some debate, sorry I don't argue with fictional economists.
  12. There is a new crop coming.
  13. you've got so little left you have to tell me that all economists disagree with me, nice.
  14. Wow that changed yesterday from some to most to now we are to all great I love evolution of exaggeration.
  15. Do what ya gotta do, this comming from someone whose family was burned by Alberta health.
  16. I beg to differ his base sent a message in winnipeg. He has spent much more in Qubec and Ont, then his base, nice try.
  17. Maybe for you and those that have no forward thought and only live day to day, not planning for tomorrow. In both cases mine and yours its not the higher power that will save you, it will have been the choices you made.
  18. Nice. Relating proven market cycles to prophecy.
  19. Alberta required a lot of help and what did we get a good raping from Trudea.
  20. So you can't plan for the eventual recession? I spent the last three years planning for this, instead of buying quads, harleys, boats ect. Its not like the economic cycle is a mystery they do teach it to everyone in Highschool.
  21. We are what a month and a half into a recession in the US, and in the process of speculating one here. Our economy typically follows the Americans by about a year to a year and half. We new this was comming changes were made to the banking system 2 years ago, which gave us the rating of number one, and that the credit crunch really didn't effect us. What we need to see now is what the tax changes have done, not to mention what tax revenue will be lost as companies write off capital losses. (that fact that companies can do this is a type of bail out) By the end of the of this quarter we should have a better idea of whats going to happen in Canada in regard to this recession and its effect on consumer confidence. We also have the transfer of political power in the US on Jan 20th which will also have an effect. By end of this quarter we will know what kind of shape the companies are as they release their numbers for the share holders. Once the info is gathered I would hope the government would look to take approperiate action, through tax cuts, tax credit writeoffs, government loans ect. which ever would be the best solution once the real problem is determined, not the one the media is hyping for fear to sell papers.
  22. Blame the provincial liberals, ya they are the reason for the mess, current global conditions only exagerated it. Are they being left to slide, I think not more money federal money is spent in Ont and QB have received the lions share of money and attention from the Harper gov. God forbid that maybe just maybe your beloved liberals may actually have been wrong in how they handled the province of ont. I am so sick of people blaming all their problems on the federal government, and then do nothing but whine and not even try to fix the problem themselves. Come on Ont tighten your belts pull up your boots, make some necessary changes and the ROC will step in help you. Which will be more BTW then the ROC of Canada has done for Alberta, we had to do it all on our own. The tories weren't burned in Quebec, how can you expect any more from Quebec then 10 seats.
  23. Rae a good choice because he has learned through experiance what not to do? Really good logic the man who crippled Ontairo, ya good choice.
  24. So you don't like recessions you like paying 1.40/L for gas. A minor recessesion is a market correction and is good for the economy, and part of the market cycle. I doubt those egg heads spent much time outside their cubicals over the past week or two.
  25. Quebec has been floundering since the day I was born. Ontairios chickens have come home to roost. BTW I also see that a deal was offered to GM Chrysler and Ford, but they have to open their books, so their poor fiscal management is known. I love it, because we are not blindly throwing money down a well, wishing for the mess to go away, which you seem to want to do. A real plan must be developed before one cent is spent.
