  1. one of my best friends of over 10 years is going back for a third time very soon - not that it's any of your business. i'm getting sick of getting into absurd side debates with a such a useless tool, completely unwilling to debate things in a civil manner and acknowledge anything that may run contrary to your skewed worldview. and i'm sure i'm not the only one here feeling that way. just look at this thread - everyone here is wasting their time responding to your personal attacks and mistake ridden, baseless views. ffs - you were even launching personal insults at a guy suffering from arthritis. we're never going to have a sensible conversation or debate here with you making hateful posts completely detached from reality. grow up.
  2. Sorry, it did. there was a few families belonging to a recently (at the time) slain soldier who made a really big stink about it. their thinking was that they died for the benefit of the nation defending democracy & freedom etc - and as such all canadians should be able to share the loss as a community. one family member even criticized the decision in the eulogy!!! also - some family & friends can't make the return ceremonies and would expect to be able to watch it on tv.
  3. that is utter nonsense.
  4. well either way is wild speculation on both our parts. but with people currently involved with the military it's been a much more "what have you done for me lately" attitude, I'd say. while the Cons have pumped way more money into the military they've also disrespected them in the ways I listed earlier.
  5. perhaps former. i'd say, knowing people actually currently serving, that the Libs have the advantage with the enlisted.
  6. Yes. I know that. But Harper started off by banning them outright. After a lot of outcry he decided to revise his position.
  7. From wanting to match them into Iraq, to refusing to lower the flag for fallen troops, to barring any media from funeral/return ceremonies - I can tell you the people I know in the military are not exactly Harpers biggest fans at this point!
  8. HI DERE BRYAN!
  9. i've honestly not heard of the guy until this dionbook idiocy. and i *work* with some of the Lib talking heads! maybe you could argue someone like Kinsella *might* be semi public - he's on tv once in a while and has a published book. even then i'm not sure "semi-public" means they should be fair game for Con mud slinging by either definition.
  10. umm... so that's his claim to semi-fame? being mentioned in a couple of articles? you've got to be kidding! i stand by my previous statement.
  11. Not by any stretch of any reasonable human beings' imagination a public figure.
  12. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xi0ZAy5bbDo/SMbD...-h/Dionbook.jpg well there's this dude. a blogger, works for the Libs, but isn't running for office and doesn't seem to be a public figure of any sort.
  13. ya, I'd love to be able to confirm this for myself but it's "over its bandwidth allotment". (i am making a face right now there is no emoticon for)
  14. So the NDP and Cons have now said they will not boycott the debate if the Greens are there. May might make it in after all!
  15. Apparently they're attacking not only Libs running for office, but pro-Liberal bloggers too! Citizens!!! This is definitely going way too far!
