It doesn't make it fair to people who don't have those services.
Sure it does - right now, those extra benefits are tax free.

Fairness to whom? People who don't have workplace benefits?
Yes. Also, people who have other workplace benefits, such as life insurance, which are taxed.
-
I think the issue is one of fairness. I, for the first time in my life, have health benefits, but I'm completely in favour of leveling the playing field here.

And with that, Justin Trudeau will no longer comment on this incident.
Funny that he'd travel to Quebec City with Mulcair and Ambrose to say nothing.

Have you seen the news since Friday? The streets of the US, Canada and the UK are filled with brainless idiots ranting and raving over the US stopping a few people from crossing their borders.
Like I said, they expect better from the western world and the United States.

Your characterization is not necessarily universal or even true - you're insulting people and nothing more.

So is the uh 'emergency debate' on for the house of commons? It seems MPs from the Left are desperate to express their anguish and outrage that the Americans won't let Yemenis in for 90 days! LOL! Maybe the entire NDP caucus will set themselves on fire in protest!
I'm more interested in whether the government will heed the advice of the tech industry and issue a special tech visa.

Meanwhile people are being tortured, raped and slaughtered all of the world, and progressives... don't care.
Where do you get that idea, exactly?
Why are you unable to have a conversation without insulting your opponents?

They've already had to walk back at least 3 parts of the ban (US residents, Canadian citizens and residents, and UK citizens) just as they had to walk back their Mexico wall talk when Pena Nieto called Trump's bluff.
There's no strength - only chaos.

Didn't catch that when I copied the link - thanks.

Oh great...they happened over many days and weeks and months.
Why didn't Team Trudeau think these things through the way you are expecting Team Trump to have done ?
It certainly could have been executed better - in both cases.

Think the green card holder ban was a mistake? Think again.

Do you mean like Trudeau's comical refugee program (vetting, housing shortage, funding, language support, etc.). Thoughts like that ?
Those difficulties didn't happen over the first day.

are those people still coming into the country.....is that happening....if so why is all the fuss all about.....oh wait....
I don't really understand your question. People from the affected countries can no longer enter the country unless they have a green card (that changed today) are a citizen or permanent resident of Canada (that changed last night) or are a citizen of the UK (that changed today). There may now be other exemptions. You'd think someone would have thought of these things ahead of time.

according to the media legal challenge was launched and it was turned down....the order still stands....
The order still stands. The deportations are not allowed, and people must be given legal counsel. That is still not happening in some places.

I assure you, I'm not jealous of their current situation. Maybe you are.

I don't expect anything but craziness from Trump, but his barring entry to the residents of six failed countries and Iran doesn't overly concern me. I'm more concerned about him booting the joints chief of staff off his security council and replacing them with Steve Bannon to be honest.
I'm more concerned about the second as well, so we won't have much of a debate there.

That IS my position. I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of the Left. I do that now and then.
Do you think I'm in favour of the government of Bashar Al Assad? I'm obviously not.
I expect a little better than talk of torture and refugee bans from the leader of the free world. You don't?

Who cares? Honestly?
Did you know that all of the countries involved bar entry to Israeli citizens? Well, not Somalia, but it's not actually a country.
But why should I care what they do, it's none of my business.
Oh wait, that's your position.

Clearly I do. You want it to say what your leftist narrative dictates.
So you think that people from Somalia can still come to the US?

WTF think was going to happen , it was new policy, all that was needed was time
That's why policies generally go through vetting and and legal examination. That didn't happen here. Bad things happened as a result.

You can say but he means 7 countries, but reality is he said one.
You don't actually understand the Executive Order as written, do you?
