  1. Everything from education, health care, life expectancy, child death rates, murder rates per capita, security, people ... Do i need to go on?
  2. Third world trouble !??!?! Oh man ... So apparently immigrants from Mexico are "3rd world trouble", talk about bigotry! I think u missed ur bus to the 16th century! Well right there I can tell your ability to properly analyze the situation is very "simple" and you already have your mind made up about who immigrants are and what they are, its pretty sad but you are conservative (from what I can tell). Our economy needs to grow and our population growth isent keeping up, we have lots of space to grow into, if we want to fuel that growth we need to build upon whats already there, unless we all start having lots of kids we are going to need to bring in other ppl, nothing wrong with that inherently. What it says is eventually immigration will plateau and we will have to reorganize some things, thats all it says ...
  3. Well I am convinced your missing the point completely, but I am sure thats not a mistake ... The fact is the u.s. earns most of the criticism it gets, if it doesn't like to hear it thats just too bad, as long as it deserves the critiques they will be made ... P.S. - hu·man·ism /ˈhyuməˌnɪzəm or, often, ˈyu-/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[hyoo-muh-niz-uhm or, often, yoo-] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation –noun 1. any system or mode of thought or action in which human interests, values, and dignity predominate. 2. devotion to or study of the humanities. 3. (sometimes initial capital letter) the studies, principles, or culture of the humanists. 4. Philosophy. a variety of ethical theory and practice that emphasizes reason, scientific inquiry, and human fulfillment in the natural world and often rejects the importance of belief in God. So Canada has a more humanistic approach then the u.s. ... We could start a discussion on this but really, lets not be distracted, I could have just said we are slightly BETTER as a country then the u.s. and that wouldnt have made the americans feel good
  4. Maybe because most Canadians ARE liberal minded? Yay, gee we can only hope that Canada becomes more violent, bullying, religious and fascist as the u.s., boy the west is going to change Canada, yay ! Funny how most conservatives in Canada have this perception that peace and fairness and equality are evil ... Like they dream of the day were gays could be openly ridiculed, when our population is full of religious people, when abortion could be made illegal, when we could privatize everything, including water, etc etc etc ... Tell me thats not you but ive heard the same story before, Canadian conservatives are simply Canadian versions of the same fascists that exist in the u.s., you dont stand a chance of pushing ur agenda anymore then we are going to allow women to become property again (No matter how much conservatives think women have too many rights today) ...
  5. Oh grammar slams, the last ditch comeback of someone that doesnt like what someone else has said ... Hmmm the U.N. then? *LOL* They were against the Iraq war and there was mention of how they would force the u.s. to not do something stupid, of course the U.N. caved and the u.s. did something very stupid ... Like I said, the u.s. has one choice really, change for the better or be FORCED to change by other ppl ... The u.s. cant be a bully and not expect to get a black eye ...
  6. It sounds like the poster is talking like an american ... Gee, Canada is courteous, thoughtful, non-violent, patient, contemplative, peaceful ... what a rotten place! (end sarcasm). We just need Canadians to stop watching so much american TV, all the points I mentioned are GREAT! A great country isent based on how many ppl u can piss off or how macho u can act, its based on being smart and trying to work with other countries and focusing on making a good life for its people!!!!! Some Canadians need to get their heads out of their asses ... If the u.s. is an asshole why do we think thats something we should be too ?
  7. We need immigrants just to keep our economy afloat, I say invite them in, but we need to guide them to integrate fully with our society, helping them get homes in average, middle class Canada will get them faster acquainted with our culture, they will make Canadian friends and integrate better into our society, if we dont do this they will naturally seperate from the rest of our society, form smaller groups, shun those they dont feel initially comfortable with and after awhile this will cause lots of conflict ... Let them in but work with all immigrants to integrate them better into Canadian society ...
  8. Give me a Canadian government that tells the u.s. to F OFF !!! This is insane, they steal our resources, they lie and cheat us, they pressure our army to let Canadians DIE for american mistakes, they come into our country and try to extradite Canadians on offenses that our own government wont charge them on, they hold back and threaten us when we work to bring in progressive, intelligent laws, they buy up our businesses and want to buy up our power and water, .... Now they want to violate our right to travel so they can gather even more information about us !!! They already have our pathetic government bending over for Bush, why not annex the whole Fing country and call it AmeriCanCo ! Uh Oh ! http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title..._American_Union Kiss Canada goodbye guys ...
  9. Niceties are very "nice" but at what point are we going to say that a certain country is a mess and needs to smarten up? I mean I feel bad for progressive americans but im sorry its not Canadas fault that the u.s. is the kind of place that it is and people crying to us because we point out the obvious really seems to miss the issue. America needs to smarten up, its ppl need to wake up and get rid of their sick, harmful, violent, controlling ideologies ... Tell me its the ppl in power and not most americans and I say your right, I have lived there and besides some quirks they are much like Canadians (though we tend to view equality and fairness and justice from a more humanist angle then americans with their obsession for money), anyway I liked most average americans I met but there are major problems with the u.s., should we all just pretend they dont exist, lest we offend some poor americans?! Suck it up, take the critiscm, I expect it about my country too, get off your pedestal, wake up and CHANGE, become something better or the rest of the world will have to FORCE you to be better and noone wants that ...
  10. Are you joking? *L* We shouldnt be in Afghanistan at all, have our troops here if we need them, we should be protecting Canada first, not the U.S. ...
