  1. Nope. If you are from the USSR as it seems to be, you have to admit that the CPSU was not a party in term of normal political structure. It was essential part of the Soviet state itself. You had to be member of that "party" in order to be on top management position and vice versa. No wonder that up to certain moment a general secretary of CPSU signed all international treaties on behalf of the state. Now, Ukraine do not blame Russian people. Read the documents about inhuman crime against people of Ukraine carefully. You say it doesn't blame communists? Read the papers again. It's clear that over 90% of key murderers were members of that "party". Even though as you said that "party" was represented by almost all nationalities and ethnic groups, you must admit that in 1932-1933 the overwhelming majority of murderers was represented by Jews. If doesn't deny the fact that you could find a fraction of ethnic Russians and Ukrainians amongst them. But it shouldn't hide the fact about what "party" leaders they were and what kind of ethnicity most of them belonged to. Ukrainian accuse the regime of incredible inhuman crimes. The "party" was clearly a backbone of the regime. Finally, when Soviet empire collapsed, Russia took all responsibilities of former Soviet Union as its recognized successor. If Soviets committed such internationally recognized crime, why wouldn't Russia's authorities admit that crime? Why don't they respect the victims and stop covering the murderers? Any idea, why? Regarding Poland - I simply replied to you earlier message stating that Russia's empire (Red empire in your case) always respected other people's will. Magically, whatever was brought under Russia's control, all was done "willingly" (your expression). Doesn't it contradict to your very last statement that the Soviet reincarnation of Russia committed the crime against the other country? If you concur, you must admit that your idealistic picture of heaven on Soviet/Russian land is far from being perfect.
  2. What do you know about me? Who am I, where I lived and what I know? The communists, committing the genocide of people in Ukraine were mostly Jews. Are you happy that I pronounced that? If you have doubt, read official documents published by Ukrainian government. But what difference does it make? What makes you think that such regime could be recognized as not guilty? The people did not starve to death in millions on their own will. They were murdered. It was well planned and executed by the Soviet regime. Thank you for mentioning genocide of ethnic Russians in addition to genocide of ethnic Ukrainians. Genocide of not just one people, but many. Isn't it less crime against humanity in your mind? The Russia's government denies these Soviet crimes, using the same logic as yours. You consider it as a blessing? Gigantic territories cut from Russians and granted to ethnic minorities by the will of repressive regime. It wasn't stupidity, it was another crime of commies in power. Crime against Russian people. You could put a dog on a golden chain, but the dog will still understand that it's still the chain. Even dog would understand that and remember.
  3. A guilty mind betrays itself. Typical Soviet propaganda. Pointing finger to whoever else, to advocate own guilt. No wonder that Putin so regretted about collapse of the Soviet empire. No wonder that Russia's officially recognized as a "heir" of USSR. No wonder that Russia's officials in UN just recently rejected to admit genocide of people in Ukraine, killed in millions by Reds. Back to the USSR? No, thanks.
  4. Excellent Soviet propaganda. Georgia and Ukraine became Soviet republics with a little help of Red Army, didn't they? People of Ukraine enjoyed "Golodomor" with millions killed by commies in 1930s. Ukrainians loved it so much that many even welcomed German Armies, with flowers. They thought that Germans came to liberate them in 1941. Were they kind of idiots? Not to say that whoever didn't enjoy the communists in power, could enjoy labor and death concentration camps, psycho clinics or trivially killed. It seems that modern Russia is not so far from that USSR in terms of how people of different ethnicities enjoy living together, isn't it? No ethnic tensions between Russians and people of Caucasus? Georgia and Ukraine are eager to re-join the Putin’s empire, eh? Maybe, my sources are incorrect. Which sources are yours? Putin's state controlled media? Oh, I forgot to ask something else our lovely historian. Who may I ask the brave Red Army tried to liberate in 1921 and 1939? Perhaps, it was Poland? and... Finland? How come? These nations decided to join the Red Empire but something stopped their joy? Was it WILLINGLY or not? What a b... shit!
  5. There are Russians and Russians. Some identify themselves as Russia's people. Others call Russia exactly as you wrote - the Evil empire. They even don't want to use such name as Russia for their future national state. They prefer Rus. Read about what Russian nationalists say about "War in Georgia" http://vdesyatku.com/eng/index.php?option=...4&Itemid=25 Quote: Another quote:
  6. You wrote that Russians were cut off political process. But they could elect and be elected, right? At least they vote for Putin and Medvedev, don't they? If they want to get rid of Caucasus then why do they go to fight Georgia?!
  7. The truth is that South Osetia belongs to Georgia. They maintain their right to regain full control over it. The truth is that Russia wanted to control that mountain region because of transit of Chechen oil in exchange of illegally produced Osetian's alcohol back to Russia (even Georgia was against Russia's presence in there). Also, check my previous post http://www.mapleleafweb.com/forums//index....showtopic=11598 (McCain + Osetia = Russia without Caucasus). It's really well planned and executed campaign with long term interests of one main player - USA.
  8. Read about torture of independent journalists by Russian officials. Pre-trail cases of Yuri Belyaev and Nikolai Andrushchenko http://vdesyatku.com/eng/index.php?option=...3&Itemid=25
  9. The global warming did not stop. It's being developed in cycles. The truth is - it's not caused by human activities. It's caused by outer space forces and it started when the solar system entered more energetic area in our galaxy. The global warming covers not just Earth, but the sun and all the planets in solar system. On Earth it caused weakening of the magnetic field and intensified sun's radiation penetration to the polar regions. The local temperature up there is rising, while the other places could experience lowering of the temperature. It's an "open fridge" effect. Al Gore was and remained just a politician, that's all. If you want to understand really of what's going on, read this essay http://vdesyatku.com/eng/index.php?option=...3&Itemid=25
  10. I don't know. But I could see that they seek for contacts. That was their second statement on a row. The first one was an offer to Republic of Georgia for information support in case of its conflict with rebellion Abkhazia would turn into hot phase (the second Abkhaz war) http://vdesyatku.com/eng/index.php?option=...0&Itemid=25
  11. Well, then why both Obama & McCain keep browsing the world and produce public appeals to the world, Europe, Middle East, etc? If they were to follow your logic, they should be sitting on American land while in the presidential race...
  12. So... Gorbachev was a 'bad guy'?
  13. When sen McCain called for less imperialistic policy of Russia's Federation in Caucasus region, it was understandable. South East Europe was described as a failure in western diplomacy and John McCain could be a key player trying to find good balance in there for the West http://greatersurbiton.wordpress.com/2008/...th-east-europe/ But how about news of recent US diplomacy in Republics of Osetia (one belongs to Georgia, one to Russia), which linked McCain name to Russian Nationalists dreaming about Russian state without Caucasus? http://vdesyatku.com/eng/index.php?option=...2&Itemid=25 It said that US officials offered a support for united and independent Osetia. If the development is true then Russia could eventually loose the entire Caucasus region. The trick is that Osetia is the most loyal republic to Kremlin. If it goes away, then what to be said about rebellion regions? The surprise is a position of Russian nationalists (called Northern Brotherhood). They do not mind Russia to divorce Caucasus, moreafter, they insist on that! Quite uncharacteristic for Russian empire behavior :-) . However, the Northern Brotherhood positioned themselves as anti-imperialistic movement. That explains things. And what about sen McCain? If he's really behind this political intrigue, isn't it a bad time, a mistake, kind of false start in his presidential campaign? Could it hurt him? Or on the contrary, what if it's a smart move on the great chessboard and we are yet to see an outcome of such development and enjoy the breathtaking game?
  14. Taken from http://www.vdesyatku.net/eng The most recent replica of Starfor "Geopolitical Diary: Medvedev's Grand Entrance" (http://www.stratfor.com/geopolitical_diary/geopolitical_diary_medvedevs_grand_entrance) hinted that Kremlin’s implementing a long term political maneuver while announcing a 25% cut of natural gas supply to Ukraine a few days ago - Sadly, the Startor analysts certainly didn’t pay much attention to what prof. Peter Khomyakov wrote about crisis situation in Russian energy system in 2006 (http://www.vdesyatku.net/eng/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=27&Itemid=25) and later in 2007 (http://www.vdesyatku.net/eng/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=25). An idea that people in Kremlin are masters of political intrigue shouldn’t be argued here. Let them intrigue as they could. However, the root cause of such behaviour is not a will for political revenge by the aging and sick empire, it’s not an intention to help Serbian “brothers in Christ”, and it’s not a protective measure to prevent separatism movements in the heartland. What is it then? It’s a trivial business of Gasprom and its godfather, the KGB colonel Putin. Professor Khomyakov has explained that lack of resources and decline of gas production would force Gasprom to use any excuse to drop down the gas supply to the domestic and neighboring consumers in order to maintain its high contractual commitments to the well developed countries in the West. That’s the reason, why Kremlin uses a Ukranian “debt” as an excuse to shutdown the energy flow to the neighbouring country. It uses the Kosovo independence precedent to pretend that Russia could still rule, and eventually bargain the indulgence for the inevitable overall failure as the energy securor for the West. With German chancelor flying to Moscow with intention to soften a political deal with “angry” tsars over the Kosovo problem, it gives the neo-KGB gang an excellent chance to be forgiven for the breaking off gas contract and still remain in a seeminly good business shape, though the bankrupcy is noticeably knocking to the colonel’s doors.
  15. Take a look at article by a Canadian author on a Russian website - http://www.vdesyatku.biz/eng/index.php?opt...22&Itemid=1 Tim Murray. Is Multiculturalism a Threat to Public Safety? Author is criticizing Canadian-born multiculturalism ideology, supplies many facts about ethric crime worldwide and seeking for a solution. Few quotes: About potically correct vocabulary: 'Our era abounds with so many sweet sounding buzzwords that have become the vocabulary of deception and manipulation. They are the lexicographical weapons of political correctness. Words like “inclusive”, “diverse”, “non-judgmental”, “tolerant”, “holistic”, and “sustainable”. Words that are thought to have a self-evidently positive connotation, but are often objectively neutral. Thus the tolerant are tolerant of diverse cultures but intolerant of diverse opinions. And the non-judgmental would in all probability raise no objection to my sexual union with a horse but riot if I were to light up a cigarette in a restaurant. Meanwhile, everything now is “sustainable”, including growth. Sustainable growth. Virgin birth!' The ethnic crime doesn't exist? ' The multicultural industry would respond that populist anxiety and moral panic over immigrant crime is ill-founded, notwithstanding the evidence presented so far. There is nothing about people’s ethnicity which pre-disposes them to criminal activity. As a 1998 study of juvenile crime by the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics stated that “even if certain ethnic or cultural groups were to be found to have higher rates of involvement in crime it would not follow that ethnicity or cultural background has a causal influence on crime. The high rates may be more attributable to other risk factors such as social disadvantage, poor parental supervision, poor school achievement and drug use, which may be correlated with ethnicity or cultural background.” According to this logic then, being a bird does not have a causal influence on flying. High rates of flying in birds are attributable to other factors, such as having wings, feathers, light bones, and the example of parents who fly.' About close family ties inside ethnic communities - 'A culture of “family first” tends to lead to sub-optimal social conditions because civic mindedness cannot flourish in an environment where people will only further the community interest if it is in their private advantage to do so. This may be the rational calculation in Sicily or Indo-China or the third world, but not in Sydney or Vancouver, where there is a virtual dearth of police corruption, and amoral familialism simply encourages crime and corruption by drawing the individual away from civic duty. As Dr. Richard Basham of the University of Sydney wrote of such immigrant cultures, “…the primary moral imperative is to look after your own family…Cooperating with the police and other government officials against one’s ethnic fellows is a risky tack. In doing so, an individual risks having acts of vengeance directed at himself and members of his family…in Asian communities threats to exact vengeance against family members are commonly made and seriously entertained.”' About a Canadian solution - 'The Canadian solution is classic. Shut the discussion down. Pass laws that prohibit the vilification of any identifiable group, and don’t collect and publish data in any comprehensive way that locates crime by ethnic origin or place of birth. In other words, if the country has a fever, throw away the thermometer. Not an approach conducive to solving problems. As Orwell explained in 1984, if a verbal category is denied expression, the idea cannot be conceived of. The thought crime that multiculturalism is a threat to public safety cannot be committed if there are no ethnic crime statistics collected to verify what we perceive to be true. Media reports can be dismissed as sensationalist yellow journalism that “racialize’crime rather than rationally explain it with more comfortable PC discussions about economic hardship and young male alienation. But surely immigrant youth alienation is a function of the sheer scale and pace of mass immigration in recent decades, a gigantic wrecking ball swung suddenly to shatter the ethnic homogeneity of Anglo-America, Northern Europe, Canada and Australia. These nations have not been able to assimilate newcomers into a cohesive framework of shared moral values, in part because the apostles of multiculturalism have convinced government that assimilation is a violation of immigrant rights and an assertion of arrogant ethnocentrism. As a result, we are a society adrift, without a moral compass, and it is in this vacuum that the immigrant criminal element flourishes unchecked. We are suffering from ethnic indigestion. We need to close our borders and we need to heal our wounds. We need to remove the constraints on free speech, both legislative and social, so that a full inventory of our problems can be made. No sacred cows. Then we need to develop a Population Plan. We need to determine what is an OPTIMUM population level for the country and fit Immigration and Refugee policy within that Plan. Only then can the gates be opened again, ever so cautiously, to those, irrespective of race, who will accept our core values of civic responsibility. One Australian multicultural advocate argued that talking about crime in ethnic terms was to be opposed because it “legitimizes immigration restrictions.” Damn right it does. Public safety trumps social engineering.' Your opinions are welcome.
  16. There's an interview with professor Peter Khomyakov "2008: Prospective for Russia, Prospective for the West" http://en.vdesyatku.net/index.php?option=c...=1&Itemid=1 Quite interesting. Subjects - Russian oil and natural gas industry prospectives and interest in it of developed countries, Russian national radicals vs. traditional opposition to Kremlin, possible disintegration of Russia, Global Warming, etc. You could post your questions to prof on that site, he promised to answer.
  17. Do you know about theory that the global warming is caused by changes of the Earth magnetic field? The magnetic field is getting weak, the poles are migrating, so the Sun's radiation penetrates easier to the polar regions and these regions are being heated much more than it was in the past. It's not a human-action cause. Moreover, mankind can't do anything about it (can't change this process I mean).
  18. I'm talking about my house. If I didn't invite you to visit me, you are not welcome, especially if you think that my house is yours. I have a right to keep my house in order I like. If your neighbor wants to be respected, this person should learn first how to respect other neighbors. Without lecturing them what is right or wrong. Is that clear?
  19. You are very right! I don't like uninvited guests to set their rules in my home.
  20. What kind of stability are you talking about? And why should we admire any kind of stability in Russia but not in other country, let say Belarus? Politically, Belarus is more stable than Russia, but for some reason majority of western governments boycott this stable Belarus, which is neighbor of Russia and even virtually has sort of commonwealth with Russia (long term idea of union of two countries Russia & Belarus). So why the West treats Lukashenko as dictator, and Putin as democratically elect? All this comes along with the fact that the international vote watchdog complained that Russia offered to allow only 70 bodies of them for the last weekend elections, while a year ago Belarus invited 400 OSBE observers for their elections! Remember that population of Belarus is 10% of Russian population! Basically, that's why the OSBE decided to boycott the Russian election. And again, Belarus got blockade from the West because of failure with democracy (despite of great political and economical stability!) and Russia is gaining full political and economical support despite obvious failure with democracy (perhaps worse than in Belarus!) and less than Belorussian stability?! Is it all about nukes and oil and gas? If "dictator" Lukashenko (legitimately elected!) had a nuke and a good reservoir of gas, our government would pardon his "dictatorship" and bless strong economic ties with this country? You said Russia is not Poland or Hungary. Correct. Russia is not Belarus either. But Belarus and Russia are seriously integrated, even talking about building one government, one parliament and getting one president for united country. So why our governments are so selective in their judgment on picking "good" and "bad" guys?
  21. Our media does not seem to be blaming Putin for his convincing victory in parliamentary elections yesterday. I guess it was a OK (the voting?) It seems that we are leaning to what maxsyno was writing earlier - "Russia's in need of support not war". Would you agree?
  22. Well, if Russians like the democracy and if Putin's regime humiliates them a lot, then why do they vote for Putin? Is that another "Russian soul" puzzle?
  23. What's the difference? Stalin was communist number one for many years. And in mind of many communists he's still the one.
  24. No wonder that Russia'a officialls still deny it. Putin's Russia is naturally recognized as a heir of Soviet estate. With all the consequencies. Besides they treat their own people not better than people of Ukraine. Population of Russia is srinking by more than 1 million a year. It's happening now. Why would you expect an apology for the past if they're still doing these bad things now?
