  1. Or that I was not online perhaps? kengs you have to stop taking things so personally. lighten up, mon!
  2. Yes, I understand that but the only link available is to another board, and that is tacky. I don't want to summarize and interpret this for people. I just want everyone to have the same information. Look, it is all up to the government to decide that for us, right? I know you are cheering for Canada to win and keep all the land and money, etc. But it is too soon to cheer, eh? Frustratin' waitin' on the government isn't it?
  3. See here's the catch ... gay people have a right to be gay ... without such public denigration. People's rights are tricky things to balance. Sir Wilfrid Laurier said something like: 'The rights of one extend only to the point where they interfere with the rights of another.' On that, I think you are over the line. It is the "public" issue. Have your 'opinions' in private perhaps?
  4. And so is this, Charles. Is this the "moral" or the "'religious" part of this thread?
  5. They already have the right. How old are you? This is hate speech promoting violence. I hope Charles Anthony will see that and delete it and this.
  6. WARNING ... Alternate opinion ... Low number ... unhuh ... Most of them in families raising kids, more women than men. You see their kids want them to be married because it's important in society. It would have been nice if IMFC would have checked that out beforehand, you know, just to see who they were bashing. Since IMFC is now hell bent on bashing common-law families, there may be a new rash of same-sex marriages just to stay out of the new 'line of fire'. This is where I get frustrated: Why don't these people go enjoy their perfect marriages and families and quit pissing on others? WHO CARES what narrow minds think about the rest of the world? It is a BIG world. There are LOTS of styles of families. Everybody needs one. Who is or is not in my family ... or yours ... is nobody's business but our own ... and that is not my opinion that is a fact, jack. So ... let me get this straight ... These people who have the perfect marriages and families ... consider themselves superior to the point where other families should be extinct? ... or at least publicly denigrated? Is that what perfection does to you? I'll pass, thanks. Such 'perfection' is highly overrated.
  7. Ori:wase : Media Release : Communiqué: For Immediate Release Sept.,25, 2007 Confederacy to launch information campaign GRAND RIVER TERRITORY OF THE SIX NATIONS- The Six Nations Haudenoniso (Confederacy Council) will be launching an information campaign along the Haldimand Proclamation lands warning prospective home buyers, retailers and industry, any property they may be buying within six miles of the Grand River is in dispute and subject to Haudensaunee land rights. The move comes after Caledonia developers, Venture Homes, owners Mr. Kragten and Mr VanElslander turn their backs on an agreement with the Haudenoniso, aimed at bringing peace and order to a volatile situation in Caledonia, while protecting Six Nations interests in the lands under dispute, by refusing to recognize the jurisdiction of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Council over its lands along the Grand River, including those being developed by the two men at Stirling Street. Haudenosaunee Development Institute (HDI) representative, Aaron Detlor said a tentative agreement had been reached with Mr. Kragten and Mr. VanElslander that would have seen the developers follow the Confederacy consultation process and recognize the jurisdiction of the HCCC over its Grand River Lands. Mr. Detlor said,” we find it disingenuous that Mr Kragten and Mr. VanElslander would make the offer to provide payment of a development fee to the HCCC but refuse to recognize the jurisdiction of the HCCC.” Mr. Detlor said as a result of the about face tactic, developers along the Grand River have left Six Nations with no other alternative but to pursue options open to them to protect their land rights including making sure any perspective purchasers of properties, homes or businesses along the Grand River are aware that land rights are asserted over the properties in question. Mr. Detlor said any development proceeding without Haudenosaunee approval is proceeding in an unlawful manner. (See attachments) Six Nations has been in negotiations with federal and provincial representatives for 19 months over its more than 200 year old land rights to lands under the Haldimand Proclamation. Mohawk Chief Allen MacNaughton , Ontario and Canada need to remember, Six Nations people have been engaged in peaceful protests of developments that continue to proceed on disputed Six Nations lands, without Six Nations approval or consultation. “That kind of action by developers, with the approval of Ontario and the federal government through their land registry system, is causing our people to counter with direct action of their own,” he said. In similar negotiations in other provinces, development on disputed lands has stopped until negotiations are concluded. Chief MacNaughton said Six Nations Haudenosaunee will continue to move forward to address their outstanding land rights issues with tools such as the HDI. The H.D.I. is a process created by the Confederacy to work with developers who are caught in a void being created by the Crown’s, in right of Canada and Ontario’s, failure to resolve Six Nations land rights. The Haudenosaunee fully expect, Municipalities of Ontario to work with the H.D.I., in accordance with their own laws of Canada, in right of the crown, which requires them to fully consult with the Haudenosaunee of the Six Nations prior to the issuance of permits for any development on our unceded territory. The Six Nations Haudenoniso (Confederacy Council) continues to work towards a peaceful, fair resolution of its more than 200 year old land rights issues throughout Southern Ontario. 8. I expect the 15 year old will be pleading "self defense" as he had some pretty nasty marks on his throat/adam's apple showing how tightly Gualtieri had him up against the wall with a bar/bat across his throat.
  9. The reason I left the church I grew up in was because 'Christian charity' was such hypocrisy and only supported the 'status quo' and the patriarchy. I can see some have only gotten more extreme in 30 years. Sad to see Christianity subverted to corporate purposes, but that is the reality. Suffer for 'the man' and you are a good Christian. Fight 'the man' and you are an enemy. That is the Christian dogma of the new millenium: The hell with the people, we need the minerals. Bash those natives sitting on OUR minerals! It is the Christian thing to do! whoopee
  10. Unfortunately justice systems, like ours for example, do not prevent crime, but process crimes already committed. Thus, international justice may be working well, but it will work after the fact.
  11. It is not just about any "insults". It is specifically about "promoting" or "inciting" hatred.
  12. Betsy if you are still on about the turban wearing mounties ... get a life! It's over! "You can't be RCMP because you are Sikh" would be discrimination in employment.
  13. I don't know. I was commenting on possible interpretations of "do not identify as Canadian". Is that because they don't want to (as implied by mikedavid) or because they don't feel they are seen by others as Canadian. It isn't as clear as mikedavid suggests.
  14. You know, it is becoming fuzzier and fuzzier. It is said the HDI lawyer is being paid for by Ontario. Fancy that!
  15. Vicious malice is sooooo 'attractive'.
  16. UPDATE: Stirling St developer backed out of his agreement with the Haudenosaunee Development Institute, that he apparently 'used' to get police to clear the site.
  17. ... OR don't feel 'Canadian' ... all depends on how your interpret that.
  18. Hunh? From original link: Roughly half of respondents say religious and cultural minorities should be accommodated "some of the time." (50%) About 22 per cent said they should be accommodated "most of the time." (72%) and 5.6 per cent said they should be accommodated all the time. (= 78%, at least some accommodation) About 14 per cent said they shouldn't be accommodated at all, (= 14% no accommodation) The rest are unsure. (8%) Help me figure out how we are interpreting this so differently, cos I don't see that at all.
  19. I wasn't asking him what he did, just how anyone could stand his judgmental ways. Your personal question is, of course, inappropriate here, and noted.
  20. Argus you couldn't get any lower than you were already ... in social literacy.
  21. boy some things don't change! The big three have been trying to destroy the rest of us forever. Good thing we are waking up ... to the nightmare.
  22. Yes! When does his lawsuit against the OPP come up? Commissioner Fantino suspended him as Chief of Police at Tyendinaga, because Hay said the RCMP and OPP are racist. Judge Sydney Linden also said that about the OPP in the Ipperwash Inquiry report, and nobody suspended him! The court case will be interesting! However, we were talking about Kahnawake, why the girls didn't report it when they were thrown off the Mercier bridge by Canadian soldiers. I am not sure about the relationship there, though I know there was a Mohawk Peacekeeper at the bridge at times.
  23. Flanagan said he is no longer associated with the Prime Minister and said something like if he was getting paid he would but he is not at present. I have to wonder whether this is Harper strategy ... to what end? To intimidate the GG? It is unclear. "Deliver" what?
  24. There was a suicide bomb. Unnerving, but that's war. Then there was a fire truck coming toward them and hit one of their vehicles. Why would you be shooting? You should be running in case it's another bomb! It is regrettable that wars are fought among civilians now. But is that what they are taught ... If someone attacks, shoot at everybody? They must have a plan for such events. Is that it?
