  1. It isn't the immigrants coming in - it's the jobs going out - labour and skilled - the free market at it's best - all hale to the gods of the marketplace - the answer to all our ills or at least to the corporate ills.
  2. Russians? The Americans have been poking their noses around up there for a while.
  3. From the article: "It's true that the atmosphere on Mars is only about .6 percent as dense as that on Earth, but it's also true that its relative concentration of carbon dioxide is about 2400 times as great as that of Earth, which appears to make up for the thinness of the Martian atmosphere about 14 times over." The density on Mars is 0.6% that of Earth. Temperature is directly related to atmospheric density. It's bloody cold on Mars for that reason. The argument above contains a false premise. Smokers, too, are in denial that their habit will kill them. Why? To protect their need to smoke. What motivates the deniers of global warming?
  4. Follow the money.
  5. Coulter is hot. That's an absolute truth, not an opinion. Plato even had a form for Coulter. SA's opinion is an absolute truth as declared here on Maple Leaf Web. SA must also be desparate. An absolute truth?
  6. Hear! Hear! I'm with you on this one. Not to take away the opportunity for some to express their pain though, because that is important. There is some kind of a psychopathology going on in the racists. Where's the love? Those of us together on this issue should boycot the thread and carry on with some other real discussions.
  7. She is fairly tall, well educated, blond with long stright hair, thin, sharp featured. What is your definition of good looking? Flat nose, big lips, big ass, kinky hair..... Well educated? Is that included in the ft.niagara book of beauty along side being white? Coulter is also skeletal with a crazed look in her eye. She harbours some deep psychopathology. Do you like beer or wine? Beauty is not absolute. It is, indeed, in the eye of the beholder.
  8. Pizza. How dare they bring that stuff and alter our pure White culture!!!! What next? Falafals and belly dancing? <shudder>
  9. So what are you saying? Are you pissed that muslim immigrants are not wearing halter tops? Are you pissed that we are not as intolerant as Saudi Arabia? Why shouldn't he be? I dunno, I thought it was a free country. Agreed. Perhaps we ought to screen more closely those who want to come here. That way everyone can be free, and still not to have to watch bagged women walking around. And there it is. Why shouldn't we be as intolerant as Saudi Arabia? Why do we need to see them foreigners? It's our country. Right, SA?
  10. Whose arguing the religious standpoint? It was a statement of fact. The original poster included "Christian", so in those terms, the facts were presented to illustrate the point; whether true or not is irrelevant. That's right - race is not real. A Swedish woman can be more genetically alike to an African man than to her own Swedish friend that looks like her. There is no race gene. "Race" is a racist concept. In fact, the first posting was a racist post - White Christians? Come on. What no Jews? Jews have not been a part of Western culture? Have Blacks not been a part of Western culture? "White Christians" are code words, and add to it "Anglo-Saxon" and, maybe, "Protestant", and, well, you might as well be at a rally singing: "If it ain't White, it ain't right." I think the question really was, what can we do about these damn foreigners making us look at them? There was a time when the French, Irish, Slavs and Italians (all Christians) were the "threat". Racism is at the root of this thread. Have some integrity, folks, and admit it. .
  11. Which brings us to the real issue: genetics. Genetically, there is no such thing as race. In fact, following the line of genetics, all groups have an ancestoral link back to Africa. We are from the same family. If you are "Christian" (or Judaic or Muslim for that matter), then you believe in the Genesis story of Adam and Eve. I think the real question is: What is at the core of our concerns? Why are we living in fear? What truly makes us anxious? Are we feeling inadequate somehow? And why? If there really is a war against "Whites", it's inevitably lost. We are multiplying less as stated above. We carry recessive genes. We are not superior. It's time to end the myth. In studies of intelligence, we fall behind the Asians. In regard to athleticism, we fall behind the Africans. That makes us mediocre at best. It's a painful reality; an inconvenient truth, one might say. That's if you believe there really are races; genetically theory shows not.
  12. Believing, one way or another, is the best we can do.
  13. You are making the assumption that the our system of logic is perfect and can explain everything, and this system of logic is your personal religion, or philosophy, as supported by your usage of adverbs like "rationally" and "technically". (i) I'll go with that though. You state: introduction of a supernatural agent...into the process adds needless complexity. You assert that this added complexity, by Ockham's Razor, would diminish the likelihood that the theory of God would hold true. I question: Does the theory of God add complexity or reduce complexity? What theory other than God actually reduces complexity? I'm not saying that I believe in God or not; that is irrelevant. I'm just playing at your game. (ii) I'll not go with that. It is quite arrogant of us to think that we can actually figure out this whole thing. Why wouldn't we be arrogant though, when the only species we have to compare ourselves with are the great apes? Our system of logic is flawed. Consider the concept of infinity. Besides that, it has already been established that our logic cannot prove nor disprove the existence of God. For a twist, consider quantum philosophy and how reality is called into question. Imagine being at two different places at the same time. We are like the ants and the anthill. We carry on doing what we know, yet not truly understanding the big picture of the system, or the anthill. Perhaps, these things are beyond our reach. Maybe, and not to make things more complex, some aliens will come and tell us the answers, so we can sit comfortably in our own self-assuredness that there is no God and we can continue to masturbate. Right, Mike?
  14. Not entirely so. One can rationally hold doubt of god, but that is technically beside the point here. The point here is: Since there is no proof for the existence of God, then there can only be belief (i.e. there is no logical rationale for holding doubt or otherwise).
  15. Don't believe in God? OK. You believe that there is no God. That is your belief; system of belief, religion or philosophy, perhaps. Fair enough. The most we can do is believe instead of knowing. If there were proof, then we would know. There is no proof, so we just don't know. Is it within our capacity to prove the existence of God? I believe not. Freud theorized that the personality was composed of the I, the It, and The One Above. It seems that Freud has a place for "one above" in being human, and that we have an innate capacity and need to involve "one above". Being human is not measurable. It cannot be gauged by science. If it cannot be gauged, then where is the proof? We have a dilemma in that we can prove neither the existence of God nor the intricacies of the human condition. To where do we go from here?
  16. Now, now, children... I wonder what Noam Chomsky would say about all of this.
