The winds of change are hitting the air. The U-G-L-Y truth is coming. FTA- When the system screws up, it is clear to me that all they try to do is cover it up. This I will try very hard to fix. There is one lawyer who has the chance to restore my faith in the system, and he may just do that.

Is this some kind of joke? People have heard of the cover ups between doctors when people actually get killed to avoid malpractice suits.... just imagine how hard it will be when its between lawyers over things that only involve money!!!! This is a big problem in Canada especially where lawyers are self-regulating AND self-insuring. Can you imagine the response from a lawyer being asked to sue another lawyer for any Civil Tort that will be defended by the Law Society and its LPIC (self-insurance arm) in that if he wins all lawyers will be paying higher premiums???? Firstly no Lawyer in his right mind will even take the case. If you find a wacko lawyer who will, it will be your lawyer that gets disbarred for taking your case on. The law society will persecute him instead till he drops the case. Alternatively he will just take your money and put up a half assed show to keep taking your evry last cent without ever trying to win anything for you. He will take a fall, like some sleezy boxer who sold the match to the other side. Finally since all judges are lawyers and none of them are elected and are therefore above any accountability every judge your case goes through will stick poles in your wheel spokes to make sure you never make it to a trial. You will go from being victimized by one lawyer who screwed you to the whole legal system ganging up to gangbang you untill you and all of your dependants, friends and family are killed physically, emotionally and economically. Dear FTA- This is I loon 1 responding in support of Loon 2....... This is the truth FTA, if you would like to believe it or not- There is something coming that may change the way law is viewed, and dealt with. ELECTIONS are the only way to hold these people ACCOUNTABLE. TO drag something on is the MANDATE of the justice system because it makes more MONEY for the greedy. They care not what it does to victims or their family's, they care not because they are COMPLACENT, and self serving. How many cases come and go that the public have no idea how corrupt the system really is? A prime example are those who have been found guilt and served time in jail but were INNOCENT, LOOK at the lawsuits that have been won in the last 5 years. Now how many more innocent people have to deal with such corruption? Yes, most lawyers, and crowns, are in bed with each other and create side deals not to mention police departments seem to be thrown into the mix to assist in the cover-up's. It takes a big lawyer to hold up a flag because if he steps out of line and holds one up one of his "FLOCK or one of his fellow PROFESSIONALS" ACCOUNTABLE he is black-balled for life, unless he already has laid claim to his own NAME NATIONALLY with a big case, as that will ensure he has bread on the table for his or her family. I recall a post of yours in a thread not so long ago stating that to "EVEN the playing field" sometimes deals have to be made to even the playing field as some do not get a fair shake. Unless someone comes forward and can file a lawsuit for about 70 million, no one will pay attention. Screw the playing field, WTF happened to JUSTICE in this country?

Yes Crowns are EXEMPT from what I gather from the criminal process. Being barred is not a harsh punishment when crowns demonstrate MALICIOUS PROSECUTION. That takes away from what they were trained for and it takes away from their appointment.

Try using spell check, M. Dancer I have to argue this, I have known many business agents WITHOUT degree's. They are the ones who negotiate; they are the ones that spend the many hours writing out the contracts, and looking to fill the gaps in, for the needs of unions. Lawyer's are used to check the language (2-8 hour reviews) then poof the contract is done. I am not knocking lawyer's they spend their time in school; as far as I am concerned it is like a sentence to spend 7-10 years in school. The only problem I have with lawyers is when they being to work as crown attorney's. They become lazy on of the backs of the tax payers, and they FORGET what it is like to work for yourself in a private practice. Collecting a regular paycheck is just that easy when you have a guaranteed income as a CROWN. I recall sitting in a lawyer's office and she called a crown and asked, "HOW IS IT IN THE LAND OF A REGULAR PAYCHECK?" There are several lawyers that I know that have been sued who do not work for the province but for them self. Accountability is important, once a lawyer becomes a crown, there is NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Heck if a crown were to get sued, the provinces pick up the tab from what I understand, then it is an all out COVER-UP. Remiel - Doctor's bury their mistakes. Dead people can not talk.

I have read through this thread, and without having to look at the external links provided I would like to inform you all who do not believe- Look at the amount of life there is on earth, the various terrain, the harsh conditions, and somehow LIFE is still there. You need to look no further than this planet to confirm the existence of life on other planets throughout the universe. Political gains by communicating with UFO's, ROFLMAO..... Now your taking the extreme and trying to justify owning a weapon, your statement does not take into consideration that a weapon such as a gun can take a life, not provide shelter or transportation. The sole purpose of a gun is to kill, it has no other function in the world. If a gun can provide you with something more substantial then you would have my support to have guns in society. You have not done your job in your post to convince me of a true "NEED" for that weapon. Go and pick up a play station and fill that VOID in your life, or rather the urge to KILL with a game. All you have to do is to turn on your radio, TV, or pick up your local paper.. DO you hear the tears? DO you hear the suffering of those left behind? Perhaps if you could change places with a person or a creature whom has been shot you would taste, touch, and feel the misery of dealing with a bullet. I for one have tasted violence and I know and understand the confusion, and the fear. I have also looked into the eyes of a perp, and they did not realize what they had done because they were trapped in their own mind "JUSTIFYING" their actions. I had the fear, and I faced death, I do not wish this suffering on ANYONE. I seen my family weep for me, their weeping made my soul bleed; for I could not bare to see their hearts breaking. Have you seen a loved one suffer? If you have then you suffer along side of them just as greatly if not more. When you suffer along the side of a loved one you are POWERLESS to stop them from suffering, so you weep for their pain. People kill people..... There was a time not so long ago that I worried for my son's life and my life because of an abusive relationship I was in. I can tell you I feel for certain that if the fellow who was abusing me had access to a gun, I would not be here today. There is this concept in society, it is the attitude that we need weapons to protect ourself from those who would harm us... The question is not about gun control and who should have one, or limiting only certain people to use guns... The question should be why do we feel we require them? I felt I required one because I was not being protected, that was the only time in my life where I felt that i may have had the need for one. Instead of getting a gun and taking shooting lessons, I removed myself to feel safe. We no longer have to hunt to survive, we have farms, we have all forms that provide us with our needs, and we need each other to provide for each other. If people want to wield a gun and feel the "SPORTING" edge of killing Bambi grab an action shooting game to play on your computer, or play station. We no longer have to fight a physical war, we have computer's that can take away everything we own by someone who could live on the moon for all we know. April 16th, 2007 is a dark sad day, North America as a whole continent is facing VIOLENCE as a growing trend, it is not shrinking it is growing and all people look to do is try to "justify" having weapons? The only monsters I believe we have as human beings are those who are not heard. We are all too consumed with our own lives to care about what could possibly be going wrong across the street, with a friend, with a co-worker, or even with a relative. Everyone needs to feel safe and have Validation without weapons. We have to validate each other by listening, and watching and have the ability to recognize a problem and deal with it as understanding adults, do you need a weapon for this? If the legal profession in Canada is strictly a money grab profession, then we have a serious problem, Lawyers really suck at their profession, because the average un-educated Albertan oil field worker could pull just as much cash if not more, for a starting salary, as almost any recent law school graduate. Sure lawyers are well paid, 7 years of school and a professional degree usually gets you that and it should, But Lawyers are far from being in any sort of class of their own when it comes to salaries, I think maybe you are confusing Top U.S Law salaries with Canadian Salaries, which are decent and allow for a good living, but not spectacular in any sense of the word. Likewise your Canada-wide universal lawyer dirtbag conspiracy theory is kind of undermined by the fact that about half of lawyers in Canada are self employed. Sure making fun of lawyers is great fun, but a representation of a new sodom and gamorah, or crack addicted gutter whore, makes your sensationalist analogies about as valuable as what is on the toilet paper after I use it. Maybe canadian legal salaries are so, realtively, low because they are doing what you say, robbing from the poor. What kind of idiot robs from the poor? What are you going to steal? I would just like to say how funny it is that you would take the time to give me instruction in a forum that is not relevant to the thread. You can always send a message instead of hijacking the thread, perhaps this is to divert from the issue? Now back on topic. What type of outside ivestigative body should be developed to over-see these issues? The ones that are in place at this moment are not doing their jobs. It has been proven time after time. For some reason the powers that are now in place that deal with these ethic's are not doing what they were designed to do. The government see's it, the tax payers see it, all see it; but who is taking up the torch to fix it? I am outside of this world of ethic bodies and I have dealt with them. It is very clear to me what they are designed to do; protect the existing bodies and protect those who are being complained about. They do nothing.

There are never 2 sides to a story... there are THREE sides to a story. Have you forgotten that with all of your training in law enforcement? What am I talking about are where POLICE officer's screw up, and where CROWN's screw up BECAUSE they are in BED with each other.... their goal is to cover up SCREW-up's on the job. I was always under the impression that justice was based on TRUTH.. and I was always under the impression that POLICE OFFICERS did their jobs when a person has been a victim. YES officers do deal with victims, the ones that SURVIVE and are left behind have to give statements. You do not only deal with criminals (REAL OR PERCEIVED) . You are the front lines, and as such it is your DUTY and responsibility to deal with a victim....

Just as a hint for your future literary endeavors, it sometimes helps to introduce a subject and lay some conceptual groundwork before entering a loud mid-rant howl about something. I assume you don't like "Crown's" because you say all they do is put away the innocent, but I'm not sure why you arrived at that conclusion. My ground work is HANDS ON- the system, almost killed me by NOT dealing with a situation and owning up to making a mistake, but rather they have chosen, or tried to CHOOSE to COVER IT UP. I am so glad that your complacency is apparent, I would assume that you are apart of some form responsible for applying justice in Canada. We will see how justice departments fair when they are made to comply with "A TOUR OF DUTY". I am sure you know what a "TOUR OF DUTY" is. The problem with justice departments is that they have NOT a clue of what it is like to be on the other side of justice.... so they develop an attitude. In most jobs for common folk, we "APPRENTICE" under an experienced individual and we work hands on with things and watch all the processes. It is high time that these departments are made to see FIRST HAND what their decisions do to people. After all... we are all only flesh, blood, and bone.... we are ALL HUMAN...
