I agree that there should be something put into place where the government acts on BEHALF of a victim(S) regarding legal action, but there is NOTHING in the Province I reside in.... pertaining to LEGAL AID...... Now having said that, I am taking legal action.... it is an uphill battle if your dealing with corruptions within Justice systems that were designed (Or they have the public believe) to serve and PROTECT.. *****HINT HINT*****

I have to admit that I do write on the fly on this site... things do not always come forth as they are intended to through basic writing on here. Thank you for addressing "SOUL", VS..."SOLE"... roflmao...... message was still taken in as proper content. BUT.... needless to say, there are many errors by the system(S) that forget that there are victims out there. Victims of violent crimes have a life time of recovery in several areas. We have the Federal government and the Provincial government that take taxes away from us to PAY for these things, the end result is a hard drain on the system(S), taxes go up, and Tax Payer's become upset. How funny that you failed to mention the FEDERAL Child support guidelines that so many mocked prior to them being enforced within Canada..... I would like to point out that they do work. Paying for the time is relevant since Canada signed an agreement with the UN to compensate Victims of Crime. Now through this, there needs to be some form of RECOVERY to the systems that are in place, by the "PERPS". Thus in doing so, it can reduce the amount of tax dollars that are paid out to house, feed, clothe...etc......etc.............etc............ How many years has it taken other processes to be established regarding Child tax tables, The Right to Vote, etc...etc...etc...etc...... Many in the public also stated that this would not work. Something has to be put into place regarding this, even if it is 10.00/ month or even 20.00/ month for the rest of their lives......HOW harsh is it to put this into place, when it will provide assistance to other areas where there needs to be ASSISTANCE? OKAY, now back onto the SUBJECT at hand.... If there were a table SIMILAR to the child support tables within the justice department having these persons REPAY a system that they drained... What would a realistic cost be? 50.00/ month for how many years? How long and how many think that this DEBT to society be repaid since to house a convict runs an average of 50 thousand dollars a year, which is PAYABLE by the taxpayers of Canada! I honestly feel that if there were a COST that was repayable by a convicted person we would see crime rates across Canada drop. Convicted persons are sent back out into the world (from what I understand) with assistance regarding job placement, and housing assistance if they do not have their own.

And so they said that it could not be done, to make people pay child support.. yet the guide lines came, many argued, and look at what we have today... a wonderfully functioning system that children benefit from. As well it has helped out to reduce the costs of welfare....etc..etc...etc... it has been a win, win situation. You know nothing of what happened to me in my life, or what has brought me here today. Take it from the public inquiry that is going to be conducted ... I will state no more on this subject matter, other than to the poor troll who left the above comments... Stand up, Women won the right to vote in Canada because someone took a stand....have a peek- COOL WOMEN Sometimes when people who have never had children can not see the UNJUST issues as it does not impact a future they can imagine or dream of through their child's eyes. (As the above noted troll has not given birth). Convicted persons can be made to pay back a system even if it is on 50.00/ month for the rest of their life... they caused the rife... they can PAY to change it... Time served is not enough. Other's before me have spoken of this EXACT line on CBC, and another will be speaking again on it within a couple of months... Time to pay~! It will reduce crime~!

I am going to ask you to not Hi-jack my thread, but rather to stay on topic. These are valid situations that require looking into by the systems that are in place at this current time. There are to many cases before the courts that suck up time, and we the public pay for it, in SEVERAL ways. I have family that require medical care, and I have required medical care over the last 2 years. I have lost a number of organs, as well as I have been required to have operations in order to regain use of one of my limbs due to a number of assaults that could, would and should have been prevented by the systems that are in place. The operations were not able to occur in a timely fashion because of the drain on the system, as I am not the only person on this planet. I have only been able to obtain these procedures over the last 15 months. This thread is about how to empower other's not only myself regarding the systems in Canada. Why attack someone who is willing to post their ideas? Is it due to the possibility that other's lack the drive and ambition regarding making necessary changes to a system that is failing others? Is it due to those who only like to sit back and complain about something rather than to get up and change it? I have met many who complain in their life.. and all of those that have complained have not gotten off their Backside and stood up for something that could create a positive situation for other's in Canada, that is why Health care, as well as the justice system in Canada are failing. There are numerous reason why the Gov should pay compensation. Liability for one. Why is the tax payer liable. Yes it is up to the GOVERNMENT in Canada to provide Compensation for victims of crime, this does not INCLUDE items that have been stolen. Compensation for victims of crime is required to assist a victims in regaining their ability to live out a normal life. Or do you people feel that only the CONVICTED should be entitled to any supports such as FREE legal council, FREE HOUSING, FREE EDUCATION, FREE....FREE........etc...etc...etc.... It is sick, just sickening that you people on here have no feelings when it comes to people who have been assaulted by a criminal. You think a person can just get back to being NORMAL after a sexual assault? Or a child can get back to normal after being SODOMIZED? The list of offenses that cause physical and mental impairments goes on and on and on..... SO the victims life is worth LESS than a FELONS? I am going to assume that on this site the people that are participating in this thread are a large number of convicted felon's. The tax payer is liable just as much to the victim as to the convicted... as "THE STATE" pursues charges against the felon regarding what happened to the victim. The victim still has to deal with their own life. The UN does make valid points regarding assistance to people around the globe, without HUMAN RIGHT'S, just imagine how the ENTIRE world could be... Now think of HITLER'S idea's having lived on... the entire planet would be filled with evil doers then. Victims are not compensated Monetarily, unless there is a loss of Counsellings, wages, re constructive surgery is sometimes required...etc...etc...etc....... Then the system is required to step in and provide assistance to those in peril so they are able to get back to their life..... There are many "WALKING WOUNDED" out there, because they are victims....

I would like to ad this- THE UNITED NATIONS has deemed that a victim is entitled to compensation. Canada, and the USA are members of the UN.... Take a peek at the database....

The proposal isn't for tax payers to pay. Rather, I think what is being suggested is that a criminal, upon convinction and sentencing for a crime, should also be compelled to pay an amount of money deemed appropriate to compensate the victim, and that this should happen as part of the main trial, and not require a seperate lawsuit. Of course, a problem with that would be that since many criminals are poor, they as a result would often be unable to pay (and not own anything worth repossessing) enough to compensate the victim. At least, that's what the text of the original post seems to say, though the poll options imply that it should be the government that pays. This money should be Ordered upon conviction by a judge. This is correct, upon sentencing there should be restitution regarding that of an individual that is found guilty of committing a criminal offense under FEDERAL law. This amount should be made PAYABLE to the system through a "GARNISHEE" order over several years after the convict has been released from jail and has obtained employment. This repayable amount should not conflict with the WELFARE tables that an individual is required to have in order for survival. This should be put into place as the cost of crime today is MILLIONS, and Millions of dollars each year. The cost of Medicare, the cost of our police, the cost of our courts, the cost to the VICTIMS....... This is a sure way to REDUCE crime in CANADA.....
