03.09.2006 06:41:51 Ontario's illegal attempt to do away with Indian Title “LET’S TWIST AGAIN”: HOW ONTARIO WANTS TO DO AWAY WITH ORIGINAL INDIAN LAND TITLE BY CHANGING “LANDS REGISTRY SYSTEM” TO “LANDS TITLE SYSTEM” MNN. Sept. 3, 2006. The devil never rests. Here’s another big move by devious Ontario. In the past, if anyone buys property in Ontario, they had to do a complete title search going back to the Crown patent and Indian title. In the last few years Ontario has been pushing to make a declaration to change the registering of the lands from the “Lands Registry System” into the “Lands Title System”. This was used in the Canadian West in provinces like British Columbia where there were no treaties to found the British claim to the land. The Ontario government wants to certify all land title in the province according to what they say is their idea of “title”. This way nobody has to do anymore title search going back to the original Indian title. When Ontario became a province they divided up all the land into counties. In each county the government surveyors divided up the land into lots and concessions. It developed a “surveyor’s grid” to decide the dimensions and location of any property in Ontario. All lands have a source of original Indian title. On top of Indian title Ontario had underlying title called the “Provincial Crown”. This "layer cake" hoax was made up by the Privy Council in England in the St. Catherines Milling and Lumber case in 1888. The Haldimand Deed confirmed Indian title and provided protection from encroachment forever for the “Mohawks and their posterity”. Anyone doing a title search in the Registry Office on the Haldimand Tract would find the original title going back to 1784. This means there had to be a legitimate transaction between the Six Nations people and the first non-native title holders on the record. Today when a person does a title search they usually find the first deed came from the “Crown”, except in the case of the Haldimand Tract, which came from the Indigenous people. If there’s never been a valid sale from the Indigenous people to the first titleholders, which could be the Crown, then the root of title is invalid. Under the old Land Registry System everyone had to establish title by deeds and documents. The Ontario government has been having difficulty making declarations on lands because all of Ontario is subject to Indian title. The Six Nations issue is revealing the difficulty Ontario is having in certifying land title because everything is subject to dispute. Ontario is trying to get around this by making a “decree” that people don’t have to do a title search beyond 40 years. This doesn’t undo the fact that they have to go back to a valid title for now. Presently all the lands in Ontario are still subject to dispute. When the Ontario government does away with the Land Registry System completely, Ontario will decide who owns what in the province. No one has to go beyond to look for a root of title anymore. Indians can be ignored and trampled on as usual even though Canadian people are becoming increasingly aware of our rights and the injustices done to us in the past. Here’s another interesting twist to this scheme. American Insurance companies are guaranteeing the land title. If there is a dispute, they pay people off with insurance money. What do you think of that one? Under the new lands title system Ontario will make a decree to indirectly do away with all original Indian title. They have done it in some places in Ontario. It’s absolutely illegal. Six Nations is not the only region where there are problems of this kind. They’ve been dodging the issue for a long time in other parts of Ontario. In 1991 Ontario had a near miss. Bear Island had registered cautions against unceded lands north of Lake Nipissing on behalf of Temagami and of the Indians. Ontario had to go to court to get a declaration that the Crown in right of Ontario had clear title. But the Supreme Court of Canada found that the issue depended on facts which were not produced. In the case of Six Nations there’s more documentary proof of the facts than in most parts of Ontario. So Ontario makes counterfeit decrees to prop up their side. This is one of the reasons why they are pushing for a different land title system. They know, when you come right down to it, the foundation of the current system is rotten. What they don’t seem to have noticed is the new system will be even more rotten. It’s a reversion to raw colonialism. Well, it’s our land, we haven’t been consulted and we haven’t given our consent to be robbed at colonial legislative gunpoint! 03.09.2006 08:09:41 "The Lord of the Flies" CALEDONIA’S “LORD OF THE FLIES” STRATEGY AT SIX NATIONS MNN. Sep. 2, 2006. We bought an interesting video* on Thursday, August 31, at the Six Nations information session at the Montreal Native Friendship Center. The land and historic issues behind the reclamation of land at Six Nations were well explained. It showed how, early in the land dispute, hundreds of young people from the nearby non-native town of Caledonia were lured to the Indigenous barricade by such enticements as beer, marshmallows and hot dogs. At first the kids were reasonable and talked about how they wanted to organize things. As the night wore on, things started to break down. The crowd became loud and raucous. Soon they were reverting to their lowest instincts, mostly racial hatred, in this case. These sorts of behavior usually come out when people are abused in a hierarchical society that doesn’t care for those at the bottom of human society. It is nurtured behavior. This breakdown of social order and disrespect for fellow human beings reminded us of those kids in the famous film, “Lord of the Flies”. All those kids were British, from rich families and went to private boarding schools. Their plane crash landed on an island. In the jungle they eventually reverted to behavior that reflected the way they had been mistreated in their boarding schools. As indigenous people we know something about the problems caused by boarding schools which were modeled on the British system. They were designed to shape children so they could grow up to commit genocide. True to form the children in the film started to kill each other off. The Caledonia youth became increasingly angry. They didn’t know how to deal with difficulties without vilifying each other. Their models of social order is based on a quest for dominance. The Caledonians became excited and worked themselves up to a fever pitch. All their lives they have been oppressed. Here, for once, they were not the target. They had a chance to experience the other side of the evil hierarchical game. As the evening wore on, the kids got drunker. They started to realize they were being empowered by authority and their ravings towards Indians became increasingly hysterical. One girl who began by crossing back and forth between both sides got caught up in the frenzy of her Caledonian neighbors. The cops had harassed her when she tried to follow her natural instinct to play a mediating role. Whoever organizes these events knows how to incite this aggression inside of these young people. They know how to foment riots, trouble and get people to do things they wouldn’t ordinarily do. They wanted to turn their aggression onto the intended victims, in this case, the Indigenous people. The kids were frustrated by the police blockades which stopped them from getting home or made them travel 35 miles out of their way. They correctly identified the police blockades and not the “Indians” as the problem. Whoever was fomenting civil disobedience deftly manipulated their frustration into hatred of “Indians”. Some lost control. Unobstructed, uncivilized behavior became the norm. Their thinking became irrational. They clutched at straws and imagined mountainous cultural barriers where there was nothing but molehills. With a little help, no doubt! They went from one extreme to another about the land issues and the “Indians”. Their cultivated hatred of “Indians” began to blossom. These kids have been told what to do all their lives. Now all of a sudden they're important because they put Caledonia on the map with their unruly behavior. After their hangover, if they thought about what they did, they would probably have been embarrassed, we hope. Unfortunately, though, they’re probably too indoctrinated. “Indians” have become their scapegoats every time they stub their toe. In the meantime, the Indigenous people were sober and stayed peaceful, just watching the craziness. Drugs and alcohol are not allowed on the Indigenous site. We have a lot to be proud of. R.G., from a union in Hamilton, stated that these instigators are set up by the "political police". He has seen this in both Canada and the US. They organize others to intimidate anyone who shows signs of independent thinking. While they prime the rioters to attack, they unsettle their victims. For example, the first story was that the police were being withdrawn from Six Nations/Caledonia during the Labor Day weekend, at which time they could bring in the skinheads and allow a riot to take place. Then the army would be called in to declare martial law. After the MNN story on the “vigilantes” became public, the state had to change its course and send in extra police. On Friday night, September 1, three busloads of skinheads were stopped from going to Six Nations to stir up trouble. Now the police have to make sure there is no riot. The Toronto Globe & Mail on September 2nd states, “Residents are ready to turn their guns on the Indigenous People”. This message is repeated a few times in the story by Alex Dobrota for those who did not get it the first time. Who knows! Someone who is weak minded may pick up a gun and start shooting! Mayor of Caledonia, Marie Trainor, said that two women told her they are, “Ready to arm themselves and clean it up since nobody else will”. The instigators get vulnerable people to do the dirty work. If things backfire, the mobs take the blame. The people who create the situation always get off Scot-free, i.e. Ipperwash where the Ontario Premier Mike Harris got away with murder. Indian Affairs called a meeting after they received the August 25th MNN vigilantes story. They had a big problem on their hands. They’d been found out. If anything happens, they will be held accountable. Parliament is reconvening at the end of the summer. Their committees will be investigating what’s been going on all summer. Now the Opposition can ask some stiff questions. R.G. understands the difficulties of oppressed social classes like the Caledonians. Their manipulators have made them feel they are one notch above “Indians” in the hierarchical order. Colonial society is designed to enslave them. The only difference is the kids don’t know what’s happening. We do. We refuse to be enslaved. The Six Nations people have always challenged this idea that social order has to be hierarchical. We are the original democrats on Turtle Island. The Caledonians are angry and upset about having to reinvent themselves. They bought houses on the Haldimand Tract which were cheap because there was no clear title. Crooks conned them into thinking this would not be a problem. The fear that they will lose all their homes and their savings feeds their hysteria. Their houses have gone down drastically in value and they’re blaming us. They aren’t asking why they were misled by the Ontario government. This is the same government that paid off Henco, who were knowingly involved in the con game. To resolve issues, Canadian institutions use force to deflect attention to the real questions. R.G. saw that the solution is not to oppress us. An alliance between the Indigenous people and the unions is needed if the abuse of people like the Six Nations and the Caledonians is going to stop. Like my father and family, most of the Iroquois belong to these unions and know what it means to be a hard worker and to be loyal to our fellow members. None of the mainstream media have published the fact that many large unions support the Six Nations. The unions understand the complicity between government institutions, developers, multi national corporations, banks and the armed forces in the oppression of all people of Canada. Unions have been fighting this for hundreds of years. Canada officially endorsed the principle of human equality in Section 15 of the Constitution Act, 1982. This means the law and the way people relate to each other has to change. Canada and its provinces have to sit down and talk to us as equals. To have a good look at the conflict, there needs to be a public inquiry about the history of land title at Caledonia and Six Nations. We have to go right back to the beginning. The first survey was the Jones Survey where the boundaries of the Six Nations territory and the surrounding counties were set out. [This is probably in the Land Claims Office at Six Nations]. There also needs to be a public investigation into Henco Industries which tried to illegally build a housing project on Six Nations land. Henco and Ontario knew that the title of that land known as “Douglas Creek Estates” was not valid. Henco was conning people into buying luxurious homes on land it didn't have title to. Henco wrote to the Six Nations band council and went ahead with construction even though they did not get a reply. There’s plenty of hard evidence on this fraud. The Supreme Court of Canada has staunchly upheld the principle of human equality. It knows that sorting things out is an ongoing process. Canadians and Indigenous people have to work together to come up with a solution that is equal and fair. This can't happen when the Canadian government institutions are supporting fraud. The days of colonial oppression are over. The people of Ontario ended up paying over $15 million in compensation to Henco for this duplicity. Ontario is trying to plaster over the fraud. It’s like putting new aluminum siding over rotten wood. Henco may have also knowingly destroyed an archaeological site and a gravesite. Desecrating graves is a criminal offence. They should be investigated and charged. The opportunists and oppressors are pushing for this issue to generate into a fight between the people of Six Nations and Caledonia. They want to divert attention away from the real issue of the phony title and theft of land. The megalomaniacs want to build more houses to bring more people into the same false title situation as in Caledonia. If it's true that Jane Stewart, former Minister of Indian Affairs, who sits at the table on the “negotiations” with Six Nations, wants to build 23,500 houses at Paris Ontario overlooking the Grand River, it’s loathsome. Is there a doctor in the house? This woman’s head needs to be examined! Other developers on the Haldimand Tract [southern Ontario] must be hysterical now! Our questioning of their schemes will interfere with their fantasy of having obscene buckets of money. There is a basic standard of decency that is not being met here in relations with Indigenous people. These developers don't really have to die and take enormous pots of money to heaven or hell! They have caused serious problems for us and other people here on earth. Look what they’ve done to the Grand River! They’ve turned it into a sewer that has killed who knows how many people, animals and natural life. Cleaning the rotten wood out of Canadian governmental institutions will pave the way for cleaning the environment. Does she know of any murders? No she never mentioned any murders but we have never had a indepth conversation on her experience. Some survivors do not like to recall the abuses they faced as they had to cope with them and would not like to relive those moments in their lives that they deal with everyday. She does speak of my great-grandmother and the strength she drew from her traditional teachings. As she was also a residential school survivor who retained her culture and language, not many were able to do that.

Perhaps I am not completely knowledgeable in the entire residential schools issue, but is there any proof that these priests were murderers, because that's one hell of a claim you just made. I would be interested in a link to documented proof. Heres a link with some info on residential schools has some documents just got to read them.My mother was a residential school survivor and does not like to talk about her experience there. So if any survivors out there are reading this site contains information which may trigger.(suffer trauma caused by remembering or reliving past abuses) http://canadiangenocide.nativeweb.org/ http://www.irsr-rqpi.gc.ca/ http://archives.cbc.ca/IDD-1-70-692/disast...ential_schools/ http://www.ainc-inac.gc.ca/gs/schl_e.html http://www.religioustolerance.org/sch_resid.htm http://www.albertasource.ca/treaty8/eng/18...al_schools.html some to get you started. Joseph Brant never surrendered any land he sold some off to prove ownership of the lands.Joseph Brant did not have the authority to sell lands for many reasons. 1.The women are title holders to our land and the cornerstone of our government. 2.Joseph Brant was not a confederacy chief he was a pine tree chief. The land the windmills are located on was surrendered by Joseph Brant long ago. As for the rest of your post, its something straight out of Alice in Wonderland. I'm afraid you are falling prey to liberal thinking, my misguided friend. Changing history so it matches ones wishes is a sad old tradition that liberals have been practicing since their inception. Could be by about 300 years prior to natives(of which I have some heritage) doing the same. The truth is, whatever your system was, it was no match for those who came over to claim new land. Their superior education and technology rolled over North America. It was inevitible. One must change with the times or get left behind. I am not misguided my friend it is you that has been misled. Changing history so it matches ones wishes is a sad old tradition that liberals have been practicing since their inception. I do not wish to change history just bring it to light. The truth is, whatever your system was, it was no match for those who came over to claim new land. Their superior education and technology rolled over North America. It was inevitible. One must change with the times or get left behind. Those who came over to claim new lands did so by making treaties with our people The Haudenosaunne for with out us you would be a french society. Your superior society was starving and dying in the New world we taught them how to survive. The truth is your system was one of kings and queens without freedom for the common man, by observing the Native population and the way they interacted with each other and the freedom from oppression, your ancestors decided it was a good way to live and tried to break free from the old country.Your system of government is based on ours. And yes you must change with the times as our people have done since forever. If you mean we must assimilate into your society I say you are wrong, our society is much more free than you wish to believe yours is.Our people have survived genocide at the hands of the churchs and governments to stand here today and say we are still here, if that isn't change and adaptation you tell me what is. You do not know your history and by making statements such as you have above I suggest you quiet down and listen up.Here is some reading material for you, read than come back and discuss from an informed position. http://www.kahonwes.com/links1/links_misc.htm http://canadiangenocide.nativeweb.org/ http://www.ckrz.com/ http://www.ratical.com/many_worlds/6Nations/DatingIC.html http://sisis.nativeweb.org/actionalert/ http://sixnations.buffnet.net/ http://www.collectionscanada.ca/aboriginal-heritage/ http://lois.justice.gc.ca/en/I-5/index.html http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/const/c1867_e.html http://www.kanesatake.com/heritage/index.html some video here http://reclamationinfo.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=10 http://auto_sol.tao.ca/ http://www.streamreel.com/archives/aim/aim_gentle.htm Some more video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=38...93889&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2...97938&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=57...14179&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6...04716&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...56403&hl=en -
So you are admitting that not all the land in Canada is yours? Can you show a map outlining exactly what you believe is Indian land? The maps I have seen so far have been very vague, and as a cartographer I would appreciate something more precise and accurate. I heard the other day that Kingston Road in Toronto is where it is because it used to be an Indian trail to Kingston along the shore of Lake Ontario. If that's true, there must be hundreds of buried Indian land underneith Toronto, Ajax, Oshawa, and every other city between here and Kingston. Why aren't you guys trying to get that land back? I would love to see you protest and attempt to reclaim land at, lets say, Yonge and Bloor for example. About the Caledonia land issue.... please clarify as I have not been there and don't know the geography. Does the land that you claim you own contain existing developments that have been there some time? Or is it only the 40 hectares that a development recently started on? If it includes land that has been developed, why didn't you stop it when that happened? Here is a map to help you: Map of Caledonia area here is a map to help you out http://www.reclamationinfo.com/images/hald...tract%20map.jpg

Has to do with a romanticisation of pre-Columbian America. Robert Mann's excellent book 1491 should debunk a lot of the myths. Actually here is a good link that should "debunk" canadian myth http://www.kahonwes.com/links1/links_misc.htm Remember we had our own history long before the Europeans recorded it. -
LOL you have many lands on which to build your economic developments, Why must you do it on ours. Hamilton is in dire need of employment and economic development start there not on our lands. The problem is land is to expensive in hamilton, so they look for cheaper land and what could be cheaper than disputed indian land. The bottom line is the developers bottom line what good do these economic developments do for our people if we do not get employed by the developers or recieve payment for the land. This is the way things will be done from now on, if you have a problem take it up with your courts and see who retains ownership of the land. The reason the government is negotiating is they do not have a case that would stand up in court.By your laws you lose.It will be up to the Haudenosaunne people to take back what is theirs then tell the government to prove they own the land. Yes it is a fantastic way to encourage economic development and employment for our people on our land.

Posted: Sat Aug 26, 2006 10:41 pm Post subject: Freedom Of Speech,An Iroquoian Tradition -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taken from the Book Mohawk Reporter The Six Nations Columns of George Beaver. Available at Iroqrafts Before the Ayatollah Khomeini died, there was a great uproar over Salman Rushdie's novel, "Satanic Verses". In this western society we live in, we have grown used to the freedom to question religion, government and pretty well anything else we wished to question.Freedom of speech has become one of our most cherished freedoms, and rightly so.It was and is, a native tradition here in North America. The idea of freedom of the individual was born here in North America, long before the arrival of the Europeans in 1492. It was not a concept brought over from Europe. The political theories brought over by Europeans centred on continuing the idea of a monarch, a royal family, a rich gentry, and numerous common folk to do the labor. These were the so-called "lower classes." Thankfully, the more progressive political ideas of the natives of North America, such as the freedom of the individual and freedom of speech, were absorbed and appropriated by the less rigid of the newcomers. The Constitution of the Five Nations Iroquois Confederacy begins: "We the people...." It could be called the first draft of the U.S. constitution. Some ideas from this Great Law, as the Iroquois called it, are now also enshrined in the Canadian Bill of Rights. The few freedoms granted by the Magna Carta in England would have been laughed at by most First Nations people. When the Magna Carta was written about 800 years ago, the majority of the native people of North America lived with far greater freedom than did Europeans. This included the women, especially among Iroquoian people. Because they did not have writing as we know it-- the Great Law was recorded on wampum belts.Every year specially trained people recited the Great Law at a public gathering. In this way many of their unique ideas about government were preserved and remembered. Not all the ideas contained in the Great Law were preserved; some concepts did not survive the translation into English, even though the Confederacy chiefs worked at it for several years in the late 1800's. Sometimes a single Indian word requires a whole sentence, or even a paragraph, in English. Some concepts cannot be translated at all because the ideas are closely tied to the native culture which is no longer understood by many people. An example of a simple concept in the native value system is that food must recieve respect. It is what sustains us.It should not be played with or wasted. Thus a student in art class who respects and follows this Iroquoian tradition might be very uncomfortable making play things out of dough or other foods. This is one example of how cultural differences can affect the behaviour. Some people would die for thier principals.Others are more flexible. But who is to say which is right? _________________ Nya:Weh for your Time Gayogoho

From what has been said on other boards he could be, but must be using another IP or he would have been caught. My guess is he or someone else put out the word for reinforcements to come to this board and they have. I don't recall seeing so many threads about one issue, or for that matter, so many native posters. There has obviously been a call put out to 'man' this board. Man this board? Thought I would post this here as a member named Diedrie keeps posting over them.To everyone else these are links to some video from the Six Nations/Haudenosaunne Reclamation in caledonia. There is also information on the history of SixNations/Haudenosaunne.To Diedrie no matter how hard you try to skew the truth it will get out. All links work in this list some good info. Here's a list http://www.kahonwes.com/links1/links_misc.htm http://canadiangenocide.nativeweb.org/ http://www.ckrz.com/ http://www.ratical.com/many_worlds/6Nations/DatingIC.html http://sisis.nativeweb.org/actionalert/ http://sixnations.buffnet.net/ http://www.collectionscanada.ca/aboriginal-heritage/ http://lois.justice.gc.ca/en/I-5/index.html http://laws.justice.gc.ca/en/const/c1867_e.html http://www.kanesatake.com/heritage/index.html some video here http://reclamationinfo.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=10 http://auto_sol.tao.ca/ http://www.streamreel.com/archives/aim/aim_gentle.htm Some more video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=38...93889&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-2...97938&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=57...14179&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6...04716&hl=en http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1...56403&hl=en These links have lots of relevant information and to dismiss them as propaganda is iresponsible. If trolls would read and discuss instead of making general statements it would be more relevant. It seems to get information out to the public you must post it that is what I have done read some links and discuss.Ask questions, give answers. Grow together. I have posted this information before and everytime this diedrie person post one line sentences to make sure the links are not seen. That is why I posted this topic any information provided is available for conversation.Do not try to mute it as it will get out.We have already made huge advances for our people and a couple of trolls on a web forum will do little to derail it.I choose to get the truth out and present our side of the story as MM only sells violence.Take the time to read the info and discuss it or go to another topic, the choice is yours.

You plan on instigating more violence Lora. Where is your truth post it now why do you have to go searching for it (fabricating), You seen mine show me yours. If you mean the truth Gary is searching for why did he not discreatly set up a camera and record the events?I know why he didn't , he did not do so because there is no events. He announced his intentions to gather support from the KKKaledonians to rally around him and create an event for him to record. It may turn out to back fire as I hear caledonians are coming out to meet the KKKaledonians. Not everyone thinks in the rasist tones of you and your group. All we have to do is remain on the land in a defensive position.Does that bother you I have read your post's about removing us by any means, and wish you would stop promoting violence and hatred.
