  1. In my humble opinion, the "end game" is to get the West to "cave" to whatever their demands are. We will always say that we won't "knuckle under." We said that with the Arab Oil Embargo (maybe not even a real embargo). Guess what, Through frantic efforts Kissinger forced Israel to "disengage" from its territorial gains in the 1973 war, even though that war was started by the Arabs and was unprovoked. We said that after the bombing of the barracks in Lebanon. And we withdrew our forces. We said that with 911 and guess what? We imposed restrictions on ourselves rather than pulverizing those responsible. ISIS knows that eventually some fool like Obama will reach out to try to "engage" them and give them their way. If we continue providing them cradle to grave welfare of course they will. We're fools for doing that. I mean heck, sex is fun. If someone paid me to have unprotected, unrestrained sex and paid for the children what would I do?
  2. Does that mean Jews would be able to live in peace and equality in your vision of a Palestine?
  3. I can think of at least four examples where policies designed to help the environment either accomplish nothing, or cause damage: Limitation of wattage of light bulbs - The floor lamp in our bedroom fried its wires about a month ago. In trying to replace the lamp, the only options are low wattage bulbs. Result I will have to use recessed ceiling lights (about six 60 watt bulbs) or a chandelier. In either case, lots of money spent and more power used. Toilet Paper - The toilet paper sold today does not stand up to wiping during an elimination of excrement. The result is the need to use many more folds of paper and still a result of not really a good cleaning, and dirty, smelly fingers. Trash Recycling - I have seen where the trash and "recyclables" go. Usually the all wind up in the same place. With the exception, sometimes, of paper (depending on the pulp market) it is rarely economical to reuse "recycled" trash. We feel good and avoid municipal fines. That's it. Air and Water Regulations - Factories rarely had the resources, after the passage of the Clean Air Act of 1970 to upgrade. Result is that the factory jobs that used to benefit lower middle class and minority children are now slave labor jobs in China and Pakistan. In short, how is there any benefit, beyond a few politicians feeling good and many bureaucrats being employed? What are we really accomplishing?
  4. As an American I recognize Canada's uniqueness; do others?
  5. Even you admit that the Gazans and the "Palestinians" are also not seeking a constructive solution.
  6. These sorts of posts make it difficult to treat you seriously. Slogans, not reasoning.
  7. We could do nothing and stand down. But what about the demands to rush in with aid from the inevitable "humanitarian crisis"?
  8. Are brainless comments such as that at all typical? I don't hear them often.
  9. Maybe the Arabs need to show a little sanity and flexibility.
  10. If I understand you correctly, then, Israel should not be there, period, end of subject matter?
  11. When the context is a war, casualties are what you'd expect. Except for Egypt and Jordan the Arabs have never forsworn belligerency against Israel.
  12. Some people are overly sensitive these days when it comes to humour. Some jokes become funnier and funnier with repetition. I especially like the one about the Jewish lawyer from New Jersey.Could you repeat the joke? I could use it on a few of those, including one who has my last name. I met him and he's an asshole. Thank G-d not related to me.
  13. I don't quite follow.
  14. Israel is not interested in your advice on how to commit national suicide.
  15. I have often said that anti-Zionism = anti-Semitism. His daddy rose aroiund Montreal with Nazi motorcycle gangs.
  16. My name is not Kim Campbell. I did not make fun of the Bells' Palsy. One of my relatives has that. Next.
  17. I guess you're not a particularly patriotic Canadian.
  18. The West Bank is inherently different from pre-1967 Israel + Jerusalem. Jordan, which previously occupied the West Bank, decided to join the 1967 invasion of Israel, despite Israel's urging them to stand down. Jordan lost the war. Rather than reincorporate the West Bank into Jordan, Jordan decided to pass its ability to receive restoration of antebellum borders to the PLO. The successor Palestinian Authority decided, in its lack of wisdom, to remain in a belligerent posture with Israel. Its people do suffer the consequences. It is sad. But Israel is not going to commit suicide.
  19. Have you ever read the Hansards of the typical U.N. General Assembly debate?
  20. It is one of Canada's official languages, along with French and English. Jean Chretien famously and frequently spoke that language, example, "a proof is a proof is a proof is a proof."
  21. Do you believe that Israel is the worst rights abuser in the world?
  22. I was lavishing praise on him. I've actually changed my mind. He is probably a delightful young man.
  23. That's actually not a bad way to look at it. What's sauce for the goose... But the Jews have not been deliberately stealing property and then executing the holders. The holders attacked first. The Jews responded. The Jews in Europe did not by and large attack their hosts.
  24. He's a freedom fighter. No reason to show remorse for that. Afghanistan is a model of freedom and religious rights.
  25. Why is it stealing if gained in warfare started by the alleged "owners" (really tenants) on the land?
