  1. Hm, a liberal voter voting for the party repealing dozens of old, classic liberal laws and the leader openly claiming he wants to crush the liberal party. no, a real liberal voter would not vote for the enemy
  2. I have no problemo with it being repealed. I prefer free speech.
  3. Just stating the obvious. See, outsiders see the situation from all angles. You were too close to the situation that you could only see one side. Brits are dumb by the way.
  4. Werent republicans criticizing Obama after he allegedly killed Osama Bin Laden?
  5. The CHRC is the only one that really investigated hate speech. This effectively means you can say whatever you want without fear of fines and prison unless its threatening.
  6. Americans were brainwashed by the media into thinking 9/11 happened cause the hijackers were jealous of the Americans way of life. In reality it was motivated by revenge and hatred for years of American intervention in their countries which Americans knew nothing of because history class didn't cover the truth.
  7. I'm in favour of the repeal but liberals will not be. Bill C-304, introduced by Conservative backbencher Brian Storseth, repeals Section 13 of the Canadian Human Rights Act, which bans hate speech transmitted over the Internet or by telephone. It passed third reading in the House of Commons on Thursday and is now headed to the Senate. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/mobileweb/2012/06/08/bill-c-304-hate-speech-tories_n_1581437.html
  8. There are many old liberals laws that are getting repealed in the budget. There's the hate speech repeal as well.
  9. They didnt re-elect him for his intelligence.
  10. Have you not been paying attention this last year?
  11. I don't know but I do assume Harper repealing all kinds of liberal laws is going to bring out more liberal voters next time.
  12. Same as Bush. They didn't want to but had no better option.
  13. That was before Harpers majority. And now the libersls worst nightmare have come true.
  14. The British were not supportive of Iraq from the get go The majority of Americans were
  15. if you vote for harpers conservatives after what hes been doing this majority then you really are not a liberal
  16. rofl at people saying liberals would jump ship to the cpc.. liberals hate Harper.. they won't be voting for the conservatives if there is a merger
  17. Well there you have it. The reformers and progressive conservatives merged and now they are the government. Now its the liberals and ndps turn to merge and take back the government. Public support is finally behind this. Time to put egos aside for the benefit of Canada. http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/06/11/over-half-of-opposition-supporters-want-party-merger-to-take-on-harper/ Sixty-four per cent of Liberal supporters and 57% of NDP voters said they “strongly” or “somewhat” support their parties merging into a single party.
  18. 871 amendments have been filed altogether but there will be a minimum of 67 votes and a maximum of 159 that = 7-18 straight hours
  19. I understand your point. I'm not really concerned about judgmental moralists, people can say and think what they want and it wouldn't bother me but I shouldn't have generalized a whole music genre.
  20. A western to eastern pipeline benefits Canada more than a pipeline through B.C.
  21. We're not talking about Norway here. We're talking about the U.S. And if you knew anything about the country music world you would know that the demographic and even the artists themselves are not that supportive of the gay community. Carrie Underwood took a major risk here that she didn't have to because it probably will lose her more fans than gain her new ones. It's hot news right now.
  22. That is the right time to speak out against war though, right? The polls say the majority of Americans (60% +) support gay marriage yet it has been voted down in 30 something states.. So I don't know about that
  23. US has already nuked cities.. so forgive me or anyone who thinks it is ridiculous that they are allowed to say who can have nukes and who may not.
  24. So will Americans give Carrie the Dixie Chicks treatment and boycott her? The country music world is the least understanding of LGBT and the issues. Will Carrie pay for giving her opinion? This will be interesting! http://m.hollywoodreporter.com/fash-track/carrie-underwood-gay-marriage-barack-obama-335592 Carrie Underwood, the popular country singer and red carpet fashion darling, has come out firmly in favor of gay marriage. "As a married person myself, I don't know what it's like to be told I can't marry somebody I love and want to marry," she said in an interview with The Independent. " I can't imagine how that must feel. I definitely think we should all have the right to love, and love publicly, the people that we want to love." Underwood speaks frequently about her faith and has woven it into her songs, such as the No 1 country hit "Jesus Take the Wheel." Underwood maintains that her position about same-sex marriage is because of her Christian values. She was raised a Baptist, but she and her husband, pro ice-hockey player Mike Fisher, worship in a non-denominational congregation. "Our church is gay friendly," she explains. "Above all, God wanted us to love others. It's not about setting rules, or 'everyone has to be like me.' No. We're all different. That's what makes us special. We have to love each other and get on with each other. It's not up to me to judge anybody."
  25. I've been given zeroes for not handing in assignments because I didn't do them. My last year of high school was 7 years a go. I guess a lot has changed since then?
