  1. These are homegrown Britons - how was war declared on them?
  2. Exactly. So we're in agreement. As I ask above, if it's OK, why does he deny it Tuesday and Wednesday it comes out he did? I doubt there is much here that will rise to the level of criminality, lots of weasel room, but it still stinks. And I think that Harper knew about it and likely was part of orchestrating it. Since the behavior isn't likely criminal, I don't see how this could be deemed slander.
  3. And more lying: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/duffy-campaign-invoice-contradicts-expense-claim-153010535.html If there's nothing wrong with it, why did he deny it?
  4. You're contradicting your last post to me here. This is about politics, not the law. Duffy can probably wriggle out of not reporting the gift as required. But the whole deal doesn't pass the smell test. And to say Harper didn't know about it is just playing dumb.
  5. I think it did. I voted NDP, would have unless Dix turned out to be a child molester, becasue I think it's time for the Libs to spend time in opposition. Still, when he came out with his pipeline and coal shipment stances, I went uh oh. He was stupid, there was no reason to make those announcements. Guess he thought his danger lay more in the greens than the Libs. That's what believing polls will do I guess.
  6. Justin or his close staffer paid Harb's debt? That's news to me. Doesn't Mr. Duffy have any rich friends that are not so closely related to the PM's office? This doesn't pass the smell test. You really think Harper and his chief of staff didn't discuss this situation? You think Wright just forgot to say "oh, by the way, I gave Duffy 90k, so we're good?"
  7. Now there's an easy out. Most things are speculation - this isn't going to court to be proved. Doesn't mean people don't have a head on their shoulders and know what's what. You should just fall back on "the Liberals did it too." You'd be on much more solid ground, because this sort of thing is sop for any party. Doesn't make it right, and there should be political consequences when caught.
  8. As somebody already asked - secret agenda to scream foul? The NDP aren't very good at this secret agenda stuff, are they? The should take lessons from master Harper. The Opp stops Harper from making reforms? How do they do that with him having a majority and all? More secret agenda stuff? And, the Liberals did it toooooooooooooooooooooo. Classic
  9. Actually the Lower Mainland went mostly Liberal. They wouldn't have been able to win without it. The coast went solidly NDP, while the interior is all Liberal. Pollsters are saying one reason they got it wrong is giving too much weight to the 18 to 35 crowd, who don't vote.
  10. Who's Nigel Wright that he's got 90k to just give somebody? What do they pay a chief of staff at the PMO anyway?
  11. North Carolina. Right to work, check. Right to buy, not so much.
  12. Finland, as you say is the outlier. Rates are higher in Ameriduh. Guess there's not much to live for there, either. Or your whole argument is a crock.
  13. Your claim was suicide rates are high. Yet they are lower than in that bastion of freedom and the pursuit of happiness. Guess if you're always chasing it you don't actually stop to enjoy it.
  14. But not addressing your claim that Scandinavians are so damn unhappy in their socialist paradise they kill themselves in extraordinary amounts is just a crock.
  15. I know, we do it tooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. And as usual we beat you. And the Scandihoovians, except for those happy Danes. Who also beat you.

  17. It seems things are heading in the direction of just Whatever - no more fuss, no confusion.
  18. I doubt if they have a dress to fit him. But as long as he's well behaved and smells pretty, I say they have to take him if they have a dress in his size.
  19. Some transgender are also gay - so someone born male who identifies as female but is sexually attracted to other females. And I brought up gays because you seemed to assume the daugher in question was straight - but what if she's gay and wants a sleepover with other girls? And the dress thing - who cares if s/he is a male or female? This is a customer wanting to try on a dress. What's the big deal? he didn't look like this: She looks like this:
  20. Nice dodge. So the owner can say no to a white woman but not a black one. As for the health club thing, it's an exception to the rule, not the rule. I don't agree with it, but I don't make the laws. Actually, if it's a real club, they can do what they want, exclude whoever they want. If the bridal shop owner wants to turn it into a private club, let her do so. Probably cost her lots of business tho.
  21. Lots of stories about gay boys and girls hiding their sexuality from their parents, close relationship or no. If you're that freaked out about a man who identifies as a woman and is working toward being one trying on a dress, I'm not sure your daughter would feel safe telling you if she was gay. As for pregnancy, that's what birth control is for. Why is an all girl lesbian sleepover OK with you, but not a hetero one?
  22. At 16, sure they can sleep together. But I would know this boy, I would know if she's really transgender or not. Of course it gets complicated. There are plenty of M - F transsexuals who are lesbians. If this person had their penis removed would you let her sleep with your daughter? How do yo know your daughter isn't a lesbian and those sleepovers are getting pretty hot and heavy?
  23. Well no, it can't be no. If a black woman has to ask, the answer can't be no - see my drift? You wanting to call her a he doesn't change the situation. If I walked into that store, I should be permitted to try on a dress if they have one my size. If I want to look pretty at my wedding, what business is it of theirs of the state of my junk?
