  1. I didn't forget. It wasn't the most interesting fact in my view, and it wasn't related to my post sub-text.
  2. How much is the world warming? And what affect is that warming having on our environment? How much of that warming is directly caused by people? Why would you want to dither with questions like that? Serious scientists (the ones routinely dismissed by the liars and deniers) monitor the rate of warming. The effects on our environment are already being seen, and approaching affects are known. That is known. And all of the unwanted warming is caused by people. There may be cascade warming (i.e. melting permafrost in Siberia) but it is all traceable back to our impact. What bearing do your questions have on the reality that it's happening, that we're the cause, and that we need to act?
  3. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...8/BNStory/Front I think he's shown a level-headedness and toughness during this leadership race. This poll shows that whining about ancient history "Rae days" and other supposed Ontario grudges just don't hold true. And his skinny dipping with Rick Mercer was brilliant! Wonder if that was before or after the poll....
  4. Wrong forum area, sorry. Please lock/delete/ignore.
  5. If a piece of news/information is posted within another topic, and a member then takes that news and makes a new (and original) topic out of it, is that considered cross posting? Thanks.
  6. The impact is Global Warming. It's not hard to understand. Human production of greenhouse gases is responsible for the excess Global Warming that we're facing. The debate that you wish to engage in is pointless. The questions you pose are moot. Our CO2 production needs to go down, drastically. As much as possible. People realize this, they know the truth when it's put in front of them. The rest is obviously agenda-driven lies. Stephen Harper has an opportunity to respond here.....to tell this group that he has no doubt that Global Warming is being caused by humans and we need to reduce C02 production to address it. He has an opportunity to confirm that he understands science has concluded we are causing Global Warming.
  7. Please name them. Name white owned malls that evict tenants based on their skin color and purposely go out of their way to have white only tenants. I remeber stuff being done like that in Germany and in the south many years ago.. But as you claim, this is still going on in Canada so please tell me where. I'm waiting. Yeah, and I'm waiting to. See three posts up. And thus far I've seem NO link to any indication that these people were evicted based upon skin color.
  8. What a bigoted and ignorant post.... Why because I don't believe in recognition of different races and cultures? I'm sorry if I don't believe in promoting racism sir! We're all the same inside and that's how we should view each other! How you say such things to someone who is trying to quash rasism! Then why do you have such contempt for people who wish to maintain aspects of their culture? And don't say you don't. You've talked sarcasticly about our "wonderful mosaic", as if it's deserving of contempt. You didn't answer my previous question btw: Why did you single out immigrants from the third world? and.. Do you think Korea is a third world Country?
  9. This is something people from various minority groups do in this country all of the time. It would be ridiculously hypocritical to not let these guys have the same access to due process. Who the hell has said they shouldn't have access to due process like anyone else? That's what bugs me about this thread...the idea that this is being "allowed" keeps being pushed. That's bs.
  10. And as a parent, how would you feel knowing that your religious leaders had been instructed to withold evidence of sexual abuse against children? How do YOU feel about EGALE wanting to abolish age of consent....so these religious leaders in Canada will not have the need to be allegedly "instructed to withold evidences of sexual abuse"...since it wouldn't be a crime anymore to diddle minors at the ripe age of 14...and those younger ages for pedophiles? I disagree with it. Now answer my question please. As a parent, how would you feel knowing that your religious leaders had been instructed to withold evidence of sexual abuse against children?
  11. No. You would not have to mention race even if it is your motive to racially discriminate. The solution is that you would ask them to leave. Period. You should not be required to justify your demand. If they do not leave, you need to treat them as tresspassers. Period. At that point, statists would call the police and say: "Ofiicer, I would like to report a couple of tresspassers on my property!" and everybody else would call a security guard. Yeah but.. then... this wouldn't be Canada though. This wouldn't be our wonderful mosiac of immigrants from the third world living peacefully with us Canadians... oh i'm sorry.. i mean.. they are Canadians too. They are the same as us.. But wait.. they aren't if they are telling us to LEAVE because of our skin color. Oh well. never mind all that. Everything is OK and don't forget to support Volpe! Why do you single out immigrants from the third world? Or do you think all immigrants are from the third world? Do you consider Korea a third world nation? And where is the story that says these people were asked to leave the strip mall because of their skin color. What if the owners wanted stores selling Korean goods only?
  12. Is it? There are apparently many who would disagree. Perhaps it depends on which side of the fence you sit upon? There isn't a fence anymore borg, there are those facing the open truth and there are the liars/deniars.
  13. You're absolutely right, the causes are not arguable, they are accepted fact; however, the effects of global warming are very much up for debate. The solutions to man-made climate change are also very much up for debate. The effects aren't really all that arguable either. The general effects are known, and they're not good for anyone. The part that is still being debated is who will do what and how fast. Some resent that others don't have as much work to do under Kyoto, for example, and so argue that those with work to do shouldn't have to do it. That's akin to not helping put out a fire because someone with less ability to toss water on it isn't tossing water on it.
  14. I don't think the landlord's action will stand if a complaint is filed. At that point, most of this thread will become moot. Exactly. All of the shrill outrage about this being "allowed" is sort of silly. And I'm not sure what the deal is with all the sarcastic references to "intellectuals". Who are these evil intellectuals that are supposedly running away from this issue?
  15. Do you want to argue facts about the causes and effects of Global Warming, or would you just like to continue making posts attacking people? No, I do not really wish to argue the causes and effects of Global Warming. That is all determined and accepted fact. And how am I "attacking people", exactly?
  16. That's fine by me. If Harper wants to lend his credibility to the liars and deniers then he'll go down the garden path with them. You clearly don't consider Global Warming a threat. That is quite simply a view along the same lines as thinking that George Bush ordered the attacks on the World Trade Center. There will ALWAYS be a couple of industry-funded nutjobs like Bob Carter and Tim Ball. They will never change their tune because it's based on bullsh@t, and People who can't handle reality will dance to their tune until they die. Those people need to just get out of the way and let others with the mental strength to face reality deal with it.
  17. So those are the things you demand of the government? I need you to further explain your idea of carbon tax and how it would work. It's a tax on cabon and it would reduce C02 emissions. Don't act as if I've got to provide all the details or it's untenable, mmk? A carbon tax is an obvious tax. A targetted tax. If you wish to fill in the blanks and rail against it on the grounds that nobody would drive anymore or some such thing be my guest. Halting the expansion of the oilfields would seriously hurt the Canadian economy? You must be joking. The Canadian economy is doing just fine and would continue to do just fine without oilfield expansion. And exactly how would halting oilfield expansion not have any impact on Global Warming? Do you not believe that human generated greenhouse gases are causing Global Warming? To speed up the process.
  18. You still haven't been clear on what "something" is. What exactly are you demanding the government do? Create a carbon tax, shutdown the oilfields and kick automakers out of the country by placing restrictions on their business? Actually cyber I have spoken about it on the forum before. I've had the exact same demand made of me elsewhere. I will answer each of your concerns in order: A carbon tax of some kind is certainly in order. Any less is not taking the problem seriously. There needs to be a non-market incentive to conserve, right away. The oilfields don't need to be shut down, but expansion should be halted immediately and a lot of money needs to be spent on making them less polluting. And your concern for automakers is unfounded. If you were informed about automakers you would know that gas milliage regulations aren't an extreme burden to adopt. The companies who do best in it are the most profitable.
  19. given your repeated, inaccurate, references to my "boss" it's only fair. Or are you the only one allowed to ask questions, and make comments along those lines? You referred to the Conservative Party as "we", which brought my speculation that you worked for the Conservative Party. Big deal. Hardly a reason to harass me with your constant personal banter.
  20. Und I aplaud youre spellin' what is your problem? Why do you insist on being such an jerkoff all the time? You want to know about my job? Why? Again, what is your problem?
  21. Good stuff. Very interesting. Not so interesting or unexpected the first attack comes from grehatrick! You find my post interesting? Why? And why would you call it an "attack"? Will you later be accusing me of breaking rules and "attacking" people becuase of a post like the one I made above?
  22. Now THAT is propaganda. Total garbage. Wonder who's funding that....hmmm?
  23. Exscuse me...!!! Just because Stephen is right-winged that makes him a robot...??? That is not what he said at all. August 1991 is right of center from what I've seen, first of all. Secondly, he's being honest. I aplaud his truth in this matter. Look at this video and tell me you could EVER see Harper being as "human" as this:
  24. There's a plan? That's the first I've heard of it. No plan is better than the Liberal plan that saw emissions skyrocket and billions go overseas to China and Russia... where their emissions skyrocketed as well! The Liberals are not in power any longer. At least they tried, and would no doubt try harder than the Conservatives are now. The Liberals took initiatives to promote individual improvements, and to some extent they were successful. That is on record. The area that caused the increase was primarily Alberta, if you get my drift. In any event, it's time to stop talking about the Liberals and start demanding that our NEW government do something about the problem.
  25. I work in the agriculture industry serving farmers, and I can tell you it is absolute bullsh@t to say that the majority of farmers support what Harper is attempting to do to the Wheat Board.
