This is so juvenile. If the US were ever to suspend NAFTA, Alberta could simply "suspend the Alliance pipeline. And the power grid to the NW states. Of course we would have to start shipping to the east directly (personally I think we should "let the eastern bastards freeze in the dark"). Regardless, st best the Democrats would only be popular until Arnold's air conditioner tripped the breaker.

I see that insults are the last vestige of the truly stupid. So you're still having problems reading, eh? Couldn't make it through the thread? Sorry about all the big words like "CBA". If you actually read the thread you would see the extent of my knowledge concerning the ATA CBA's (especially the part's I learned from Global!) My facts are indisputable and provable. Are yours? What gave you the idea that anyone out here cares? Wrong. I'm an Albertan. My mistake. Your parents were the refugees. Newfoundland's books have been balanced for years because of transfer theft from hard working Albertans and Ontarians. Is that so, Oh Mighty Smart One? Would you like to explain to Kwebek that their immigration policy doesn't exist? That's already in the works. Hey Posit! Been a while! If I inspire you, you're not the first, but you're welcome. Bayman35 (are you going to change your screen name to Bayman36 next year?), It is weak-minded individuals like you that the provincial Tories are counting on. The more you speak, the more people like me (and there are a lot of them in Alberta) become willing to vote PC just to prevent the socialists from taking power. Listen Little Trudeau, finish what you're doing in my province and then GO HOME. In case you haven't noticed, people of this province don't want you here. Not Newfoundlanders (they're fine), just socialists like you; our province has been doing fine without your politics for a very long time.

Before you spout off about teachers (the useless twits that they are), do some informed reading: Teachers pay As long as you plan on retiring in your own province, you are a visitor. Your politics make you an outsider whether or not you want to believe it. Those of us that have been here since the beginning know what eastern Canada did to our province, and that will never be forgotten. If you want to do something truly good for the people of Alberta...abstain from voting. Your style of government will only serve to turn this province into what you "ran from" when you moved here. You are very similar to the immigrant that leaves their homeland for (insert reason here) and flees to Canada only to attempt to recreate the problem in the new country. We need Kwebek-style provincial immigration laws in this province.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian

Rue, you may qualify to be a saint. Your three miracles: Walked under water Cured a ham Made a blind man deaf You should look into this further (I hear the sainthood 401k is to die for). -
I can be reasoned with the vast majority of the time. With you however, I'm forced to take a different approach. There are a lot of easterners that I work with that I would give the shirt off my back. Not people like you. I hope you make a pile of money while you're a guest in Alberta. I hope you earn every penny by working hard. I hope you leave Alberta and go home when we've used you up. And take some of your like-minded buddies with you.

10 steps to Understanding Liberal Thinking
Hydraboss replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That kind of story makes me sick to my stomach (the part about the poor child). To drift a bit...I unfortunately have had to hear and see too many stories like this (my wife spent years on the pediatric intensive care unit at the Stollery). I have yet to find someone who doesn't believe in the use of a gun with extreme prejudice in cases like this. -
Tha mo bheachd...you richtig argumentieren.
-
First of all, do you mean a turban (instead of) a helmet, or a turban (over top) of a helmet? If it is the latter, you are misinformed. If it is the former, then read through the "Zekes" thread under Federal Politics. As for people panicking because of the amount of exposure they've had to people from different parts of the planet...are you for real? Did you ever stop to think that the reason there is becoming a uproar about immigrants is because of the exposure they've had due to downplaying Canadian laws?

Are you referring to the multi-billion dollar pension liability that Pierre Elliot Stelmach is paying to part-time teachers? Yes, beautiful move. People who work 180.5 FDE are about to get money to cover the pension dues they never paid, based on time they never worked. The overpaid ATA members get another bonus. Yep, great move. With any luck, the PC's will get a majority. Preferably about one seat shy of a majority. Ideal. PES would get his ass booted out of caucus, and a true conservative could take over. Dreams, dreams.

Everyone can see that you "easterners" are bringing your liberal/ndp views to this province. Does it make you happy to invade a province and try to change it to make it just like your old home? As for Ralph...he was dead on. So you paid a whole $32k in taxes, huh? Was that it? I'm sure you wouldn't mind paying more to fund your buddies. "to each according to their need..." Sincerely, Hydrant Boss p.s. - I have no doubt that you're pounding.
-
That's right, Jerry, people with kids want everyone else to pay for their kids. "to each according to their needs..." Who exactly are "the people" who don't care about political view as long as they get paid?

10 steps to Understanding Liberal Thinking
Hydraboss replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I have never been divorced, but I have been closely involved in a few cases. Without dredging up a long and tortuous sub-plot: Alimony is not a thing of the past. Payments do not end unless the woman gets married. Cohabitation does not count to negate the payments (even if she files as common-law on her taxes). This is a huge sore spot with men (of any political stripe): If he does not make his payments, the judge can imprison him (woman's lawyer takes him to court and man goes to jail). If she does not let him see the kids, the judge looks sternly at her (man's lawyer takes her lawyer to court and woman promises not to do it again). If he makes more one year, his payments go up (he has to supply T4 information at minimum once per year). If he makes less one year, his payments do not change (typically takes 3-4 years to lower payments). And let me tell you about some of the payment awards....... -
That's right! Because I should be paying for everyone else's kids for as long as I live. Socialist crap like that used to get left at the border, but it seems to be getting harder to plug the leaks. edit:sp

Ahhhh. The "strawman" post. The last vestige of those unable to defend their written thoughts in any comprehensible way. Thanks for playing Margrace.

No, I do not know what you mean. You're failing to be specific. Please try to answer a simple question. Or is this just a "Harper bad. Conservatives bad." thread?

When you apply for private insurance (which exists now in Canada), they would ask for disclosure of preexisting conditions and family history. If your parents, and every aunt/uncle/cousin you ever had had diabetes....ya, they would probably charge you through the roof for that coverage. The chances of you getting diabetes is extremely high. This is not to say that you will not receive care, just that you'll have to go to another, higher rate insurance company for "extra" coverage.
-
When his heart was giving out, he was given a new valve and taken care of. His complaint seems to be that AFTER his surgery he was turned down for EXTRA heath care. What is this "extra health care" he was applying for? Are you referring to "care" or "coverage (read: money)"?

10 steps to Understanding Liberal Thinking
Hydraboss replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Thank you Drea, I thought I proved my point quite well. As bad as this may sound, there actually are some points in that list that bear resemblance to real feelings. Unfortunately, these points can apply to either end of the political spectrum, so they are not inherently conservative. Ask any liberal man that's paying alimony to he ex-spouse so her and her live-in boyfriend can go to Cabo this winter. -
Preexist \Pre`["e]x*ist"\, v. i. [imp. & p. p. Pre["e]xisted; p. pr. & vb. n. Pre["e]xisting.] To exist previously; to exist before something else. Margrace, the conditions you describe WERE preexisting. If you apply for health insurance AFTER you have been diagnosed with a disease, your condition is preexisting and the insurance company has every right to refuse you based on the risk. He still got medical care, didn't he? The only complaint I see from you alludes to the fact that in a proper medical system (private) he could not have been paid out for a condition he already knew he had when he applied for extra insurance. My question is this: Are you complaining about health care, or health insurance money? edit:sp

According to what I saw, the term "debate" was used very loosely.

Canadians need to control immigration GREATLY
Hydraboss replied to YankeeAussieCanuckKiwi's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
I certainly don't. However, the moment they complain to the Human Rights Circus that they want to wear their turbans instead of TRADITIONAL head wear, want their kids to bring DAGGERS to school, refuse to wear HELMETS when they ride motorcycles, don't want their pictures on their driver's licenses, don't want to speak English, etc., then they should get their white or non-white asses on the next dinghy back to wherever the hell they came from. Sharia law? Kiss my Canadian ass. We don't have Sharia law here, and if you really want it...go back to where it's already alive and well. Think you can come to this country and start up your Triad gangs? F**k you! We have a military that would be happy to blow 105mm holes in that theory! Want to come here and smuggle dope "ya mon!"? Ya, we can deal with your ass too. When the hell did it become politically incorrect to protect our country from this bullshit? The day some purple-skinned Canadian kid can't say "Merry Christmas" in Canada is the day the immigration policy should change to zero quota from bronze-age countries. Go ahead and call me a racist. I'm getting used to it. -
Osama (bin laden) for President?
Hydraboss replied to Brain Candy's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And if that doesn't fly, there's always the "Hillary-Osama" ticket. -
No I don't know. If you happen to stumble across it, post it (or in the "Zekes" thread). Thanks.
