Who cares?

I'll tell you whats stupid, ontario we used to be and I think still are the most have province but because we have about 850,000 people on welfare alone we run huge deficits and have high taxes. Sure if ontario had oil we would be better off but the government could still spend that extra money unwisely. I live in london ontario were property taxes have been soaring they raising faster then any other municipality and I live in a province where taxes are soaring and were goverment owned utilities prices are raising extremely fast. Now I would appreciate it if you looked at the real stupidity in this country and not criticize a province who was able to manage their money wisely!!!

Your obviously taking this out of context, I think we all know I could do the same with minority rights but that would be pointless.

Scrap the cbc -
It the majority of Canadians are against same-sex marriage it shouldn't happen anything else isn't a democracy.

I think it would benefit Canada to limit the number of political parties that can run in the federal election because if we continue to have minority Parliament we will continue to have nothing accomplished and no fundamental decisions made. Although it is obviously not legal to do this I would say to many Canadians by throwing away your vote on a party such as the Green party you may be throwing away Canada's future by not allowing the federal government to get to work and make decisions.

Mike Harris did nothing wrong.
compaq905 replied to Big Blue Machine's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
The reason why dalton is the worst premier in history is because of his constant lies, obvious corruption and lack of understanding. For instance the only promise he is for filling is to close a coal-fired power generation plants that supply approximately 20% of Ontario's electricity needs. Now your bill has not increased but that rate the business has to pay is astronomical in the summertime, so dalton knows he will have to buy power from new york at $.50 a kilowatt hour when Ontario residential users are paying about seven cents a kilowatt hour. Instead of trying to be diplomatic in purchasing power from Québec the premier continues to buy power from New York at astronomical rates in the summertime, pushing Ontario power generation Corp further into debt every day and placing jobs at risk by charging businesses astronomical power rates. -
Yes I'am talking about the house of commons

Despite what teachers say mike harris was a great premiere, way better then Dalton McGuinty who we can all agree has to be the worst premiere in history. Mike harris stood up to the teachers union at the time I was in public school and I remember the student council president and the principal bad mouthing Mike harris in front of the entire school and union posters lined the hallways. He cut taxs and ran surpluses most of the time despite the fact that most premiers before and after him could never achieve a surplus. One of the best things about mike harris is that he did what he said he was going to do and talked from one side of his mouth not two which more then we can say for McGuinty or Martin -
I not sure if a poll on this has been conducted yet but if so I apologize. I personally support proportional representation because it is obviously more democratic then our current system. It is clear that proportional representation would definitely hurt the liberals which is another pro. Would it better the conservatives chances at forming a majority I'am personally unsure.

The Globe and mail right or left wing?
compaq905 replied to compaq905's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think my geography teacher has realized that his views are old, also that he is so far to the left that he thinks that a left wing newspaper is right wing. But it is interesting and it explains why so many left wingers believe that the media is against them when it is so clearly the other way. Those individuals need to ask themselfs why they keep voteing liberal if they are that left wing. -
My geography teacher believes that the globe and mail is right wing, I could not disagree more. Give me you thoughts so I can print them out and hopefully prove him wrong!!!!

Martin speech- Harper seriously on the ropes !
compaq905 replied to USA_Liberal's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This thread is ridiculous, you (liberals) don't want about the issues because no one believes you after 15 years of bull. So you talk about issues of the past such as abortion saying that the Conservatives will take away. well unfortunately recent polls in canada have shown that 60% of canada disapprove of abortion. Now you make ask yourself why is it not working this time because people fear so old man who stutters and is the biggest hypocrite in the world will become prime minister again and continue to embarrass this country. I like all other conservative wanted an issue orientated campaign but unfortunately the liberals have reduced themselves to petty and unfounded personal attacks so we now have to play defense well the real issues lose the spotlight. -
Paul martin had said that if the Supreme Court ruled that same-sex marriages could be performed without protecting religious rights that he would use the notwithstanding clause. Now that issue has been settled but if the count overturned its prior ruling then the government would have no way of protecting religious rights. I don't think the notwithstanding clause should be taking out I also don't think that this issue should be taken to Canadians because they did not have enough knowledge of the subject. By taking out the notwithstanding clause paul martin is taking rights away from the majority and he needs to be reminded that this is a democracy.

Harper Dragging Canada into Exteme Danger
compaq905 replied to River_God's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think that the liberal party needs to disclose how much money they intend to steal if they win and also give us a estimate of just how many promises they intend to break!!!
