Satin is not real. Invoking religion, is just like saying "I said so, so it must be right. No further arguments accepted." But there are very real reasons for having an abortion. We used to observe that if men were the ones carrying the fetuses and delivering the babies, we'd have abortion on demand before tomorrow morning. As it turns out nature has put that task upon the women and if the women have to do it, then it only makes sense that they have authority over the process. To be required to something and then have other people making decisons like this requiring you to go through a full pregnancy and delivery, and then taking your baby away from you. It's very hurtful to a woman. A woman wrote a few months back that she heard a male politician who didn't understand how a woman with a tampon could still urinate. Her comment was, "And this {man} is going to be making laws governing my body?!?" Women have to have authority over their pregnancies and access to abortions if they feel they have a need for them. Women are more than baby making factories.

Well except on the hockey rinks, of course. We do tend to be more community minded than our neighbours to the south, but I think it's geography. Americans settlers would take their family and load them into a covered wagon & head West to build a life. Not so much in Canada. Anyone, in those times, heading out on their own wouldn't make it through the winter. Our fore fathers had to build community groups and work together to survive. I think it shaped our culture and attitudes. We tend to be rule followers, (not me, of course, but those other guys <Smile>).

I don't believe that communist countries are unable to trade. Cuba is currently the closest to a communist country and they are very eager to trade, but prevented by the US embargo. That is changing, of course. They have joined BRICS and I believe it will be difficult for even the US to prevent trade from happening between Cuba & other BRICS members.
