U.K. trade agreement exposes the PM for what he is
Minnetonka replied to Minnetonka's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Painting all liberals with the same broad brush is exactly the same as calling all cops racist. You're doing the smug, self-righteous liberals--not all liberals, just those ones--proud. Welcome to identity politics. -

I LOLLED at that. I hope grief counsellors were dispatched to the hive. -
U.K. trade agreement exposes the PM for what he is
Minnetonka replied to Minnetonka's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Voters are individuals who are expected to have personal responsibility for their actions, like all of us. Blaming only politicians for the infestation of identity politics is letting its individual adherents off the hook for not taking personal responsibility for it themselves. Hate the game and the players who willingly go along with it. -

Well, you told me, didn't you. I'll go cower in the corner. -

I've been looking at something for too long, that's for sure, so I'll take my leave to prepare for the coming End Times. Thanks for the warning. -

It makes me wonder how the poster in question feels about his current Commander-in-Chief. -

You know, I don't care what your politics are, and I don't care if you all knock Trudeau. I can think of a few times he has deserved it, okay? Are we straight on that? What he doesn't deserve is the level of offensive drivel that's dumped on him as if he's Stalin or Hitler, and as if you're all still in kindergarten. Last I checked, the PM was generally doing his best to manage the country--just like Harper before him, okay?--and hadn't killed millions of people. If that makes him useless scum and worthless and a pathetic excuse and a coward and blah blah blah, you're going to get called out on it. As hard as you've scrambled to fit me into a leftist pigeonhole so you'll have free rein to dump on me, it has nothing to do with that. You'd be just as embarrassing if you were Liberal sycophants dumping on a Conservative. Is that clear enough? -

I have also heard that many cancer patients who receive treatment still die from the disease. Therefore, cancer is a hoax. Covid-19 has been around for only a year but cancer has been with us since forever. That's the fight you should be fighting, brave warrior. -

I voted for one of several democratic, non-communist/fascist political parties. And what do you know, it worked! I could tilt at windmills on the internet but that would make me look silly, so I'll stick with voting. -

If you'll point out where I made it out to be miraculous, I'll retract it immediately with an apology. Deal? It would also be literally impossible for him to be PM for five years and accomplish only one thing, too, don't you think? Can you think of one more accomplishment of the PM's? Just one more? I won't heap abuse on you if you do, but I can't speak for everyone here. -

I voted for Trudeau once in two elections. I'm not a card-carrying Liberal nor Conservative nor NDP nor Communist nor Fascist. Now tell me whose mind is already made up and then accuses me of it. -
U.K. trade agreement exposes the PM for what he is

This is exactly the sort of bitter, overzealous, knee-jerk attitude that made me start this thread. Did Trudeau run over your puppy or something? The Trudeau government built up the economy and kept unemployment low largely, I presume, through international trade deals. He spent the first year in office promoting and signing them as if that was a high priority for him. Can't you admit that to yourself? -

1. No argument from me there. Trudeau inherited a stable economy and he had the utter gall to build on it, the snivelling little puke.;) 2. Is there enough Raid in the world? -

Doing his job responsibly, like signing this trade deal, is good for Trudeau politically as far as I'm concerned, even if it wasn't politically motivated. When I'm weighing the pros and cons of the government at the next election, this will be solidly on the pro side. The wild-eyed ravings against the PM culled from the internet and vomited forth on this forum certainly serve only to hurt him politically. I invite any rabid anti-intellectual conspiracy theorist here to explain why Trudeau should not get credit for this deal, presumably because he's simultaneously a commie and a fascist. Take all the time you need, people. I'm not holding my breath. -
Maybe a review of the constitution will help. Each province has the authority to fight the virus as it thinks best which results in something called "variation" from province to province. One strategy might be worse than the others but in no way does it indicate a collective running around like chickens with their heads cut off by all our elected officials. If it's still confusing, maybe a review of the constitution will help. Keep reading until it sinks in.

As if we don't have enough bad news these days, our pathetic excuse of a Prime Minister just pulled another commie/fascist move by strengthening our economy. That's right. Instead of blocking immigration or just letting people have fun in the middle of a pandemic, the yellow coward wasted his precious time by filling a gaping hole in the EU trade agreement after Brexit. Like the dictator he is, he just went ahead and did something about it, and Canada's economy will now be that much stronger. In short, the PM and his government did their job. The utter incompetence of Le Fool is astounding. How can conservative hero Boris Johnson smile and joke with the little worm and praise the deal to the hilt, as if it was a good idea? Doesn't he know the little puke is a Liberal? Don't bother going to the link and seeing how a leader does his job. It goes to the CBC so you know it's all lies. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/canada-uk-transitional-trade-agreement-1.5811269 "The Canada-United Kingdom Trade Continuity Agreement extends the elimination of tariffs on 98 per cent of goods exported between the two countries and sets the stage for negotiations toward a permanent and more ambitious deal in the new year."

Liberals to greatly increase immigration in coming years.
Minnetonka replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
If Canada was the only country in the world you'd have a point, but there's all those pesky other countries we have to compete with. You'll have to convince all the capitalists in the world, not just in Canada, to stop using cheap labour. For what it's worth, I never took an economics class and I didn't look anything up. It's just obvious, isn't it? -

Minnetonka replied to Argus's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
In my post, right in front of your eyes, it says capitalism needs cheap labour to work and if Canadians can't supply it, we have to rely on immigrants. Once again, go ahead and tell actual capitalists your views and we'll see who doesn't know how capitalism works. -

I see a lot more Middle Eastern and Asian people wearing Western clothes, especially the younger ones who want to assimilate into the society of their friends rather than fulfill any cultural aspirations their parents might have for them. Your fears of cultural takeover are vastly overblown. -

That is all either flat out false or unfounded projections based on squeamish fear. I keep hearing from conservatives that they're made of sterner stuff than that but your post would make a homeless communist blush. Who is going to do the immigrants' work if they aren't here to do it? Can we count on you to eviscerate hundreds of chickens a day or change old people's diapers so the rest of us don't have to? The financial gurus have determined that for the economy to run smoothly, we need X number of immigrants willing to do the shit work that's beneath you and me. Less than that will drag the economy down, so instead of dissing them, I think the better solution is for you to overcome your exaggerated fears. You could start by thanking an immigrant next time you eat a cheap burger or visit your mom in the seniors home. Instead of knee-jerk blaming of the government, try taking your whiny fears to those who drive immigration policy: the mostly-conservative CEOs of corporations and industries who need cheap labour to operate. They are the ones who the government consults before policy changes are made, so when you complain about immigrants, you're eating your own. -

Watching Bonnie Boo all day long and over and over and over and over again is a choice that you make. I think you've got a crush on her, am I right? You've even got a pet name for her, heehee... -

Yeah, I saw in the news how the B.C. government is now telling people where to live and work and who to marry. It's a good thing you went on the internet and whined about it instead of marching in the street or taking a stand in any way against such tyrannical oppression.?
