  1. Luckily charter rights mean something to valid courts. And speaking of dollars, how many billions have you spent on Gitmo alone simply to become an embarrassment? Although speaking of such things, I guess now with Trump in the WH you have a new one to worry about.
  2. As did the SCC to the tune of 10.5 million.
  3. Apparently your SCOTUS does have other ideas than you do about charter rights. Luckily.
  4. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/lawyers-sue-to-have-harper-repatriate-omar-khadr-from-guantanamo-bay-1.729637 Instead, Khadr has spent almost six years at Guantanamo Bay, the site of a U.S. military base in Cuba, where Canadian courts have found he was detained and abused in violation of international law, said his lawyers Dennis Edney and Nate Whitling.
  5. And where did you come to the assumption that I supported that?
  6. Your namesake opened and ran an illegal prison and an illegal "court" for many years, and now you are simply trying to deflect. But guess what, it ain't working.
  7. Well then take your little answer to your little question and move on and stop trying to conflate issues.
  8. So you really don't know what you're talking about.
  9. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/harper-unapologetic-about-governments-efforts-to-keep-khadr-in-prison/article24334556/ The Conservative government fought hard to keep Mr. Khadr behind bars, first refusing to advocate for his repatriation and later appealing a lower court decision to grant him bail. Earlier this month, the government argued that Mr. Khadr’s release would damage Canada’s relationship with the United States because he was sent back to complete his prison term.
  10. You were at Gitmo then I guess eh?
  11. Why did your namesake hold illegal prisons and kangaroo courts in such high regard?
  12. Read your own post. However, the top court agreed Canadian officials violated Khadr's human rights, and that he continues to be threatened by the effect of those violations. In a unanimous decision released Friday, the court declared that Canadian officials breached Khadr's right to life, liberty and security of the person under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
  13. Don't talk to me about violating the rights of aboriginals. As an American you are already an expert.
  14. Too bad we violated his rights so wouldn't have had to pay. See point #3.
  15. Managed to? that's a complete deflection. Harper fought it every step of the way. It happened on his watch only because the SCC said so.
  16. I think you forgot to mention your beloved Harper.
  17. You seem to be the one going in circles. The (Supreme) courts didn't rely on kangaroo court evidence to determine what happened there. You can try and deny the torture aspect until the cows come home. But the compensation is based on the fact the SCC found that Khadr's charter rights were violated.
  18. OMG, you know you blew your credibility big time on this subject and this has to be the sorriest attempt at deflection I have ever seen. Ping, and the duck makes a 180.
  19. Another lengthy rant that goes nowhere. Whether or not you believe he was tortured, the violation of his charter rights and the previous govt's complicity in those violations, resulted in the success of his civil suit.
  20. One is referred to as the SCOTUS, and the other the SCC. You can google those at you leisure.
  21. It seems it's you who is confused, it has been supreme courts on both sides of the border that denounced the US military commission as a kangaroo court, Although they did use slightly loftier language.
  22. The courts speak with a lot more authority than you ever will.
  23. How many votes do you think Khadr can cast? And the rest of your post is as flimsy as usual.
  24. I will if you agree to keep American warmongers at home and find a better way to feed the military industrial complex.
  25. And that's supposed to alleviate somehow the current failure of Trump's attempts to "repeal and replace" Keep trying pal.
