  1. The difference to what? Him paying or us (taxpayers) paying? That's a silly question if you think we should be paying his daycare bill.
  2. Screw just balancing the budget. We should be 100% concentrated on paying down debt! When interest rates rise we will be paying ridiculously more amounts of money to service that debt. That's money that could've been going to education and healthcare.
  3. I don't expect him to pay his housing costs, but he should pay his child care costs out of his own pocket like the rest of us hard working Joe Blows have to.
  4. We all pay, period. Insurance is a pooled resource. That's why insurance companies will cancel people's policies who've had too many claims. It's their way of weeding out the fraudsters and bad drivers.
  5. Laws can be changed and were under no obligation to any other country to take in it's citizens. We do so voluntarily. I absolutely love looking foolish, it's the trend lately.
  6. Who says we need to keep the 25,000 indefinitely? Send them home when the war in Syria is over.
  7. I like the number 0. If we don't accept a single refugee, then we can say with a 100% statistical certainty that the number will be 0.
  8. That's the part that drives me nuts. I don't care if they reach those positions as long as they don't allow religion to guide their decisions and they don't try to change what Canada is fundamentally. Seriously, I don't care if the PM was Muslim. As long as he did what he believes is right for everyone and didn't try to institute any type of Sharia in Canada, then I don't have a problem.
  9. Have you been watching the news lately? You can bet your life that there will be terrorists embedded with the refugees.
  10. Unfortunately what you're saying will fall on deaf ears. People can't seem to look beyond our own borders to see what problems Muslim immigration has caused in the European Union.
  11. I hope you're not trying to compare pedophiles to possible terrorists embedded with Syrian refugees. The biggest difference is terrorists kill people, pedophiles, as disgusting as they are, tend not to.
  12. There would be no citizenship application process. The refugees would essentially be "renting" Canada temporarily. If you were successful as a refugee while here, then go back to Syria and apply for immigration back into Canada; after the war is over of course.
  13. First post... Just a plan/thought. How about we help out 25,000 refugees after they've cleared the necessary security checks but when the war in Syria is over and they start rebuilding, we send them back. No citizenship or indefinite stay for any of them. I figure this way, we can say we helped at great cost to the taxpayer and we aren't going to burden our social safety net or medical system over the long term. Thoughts...
