The left sure is scraping the botton of the barrel. If that is all they have now

This is pretty disturbing.
I predict Harper-Magnotta comparisons by the end of the week.

Whether or not it adds anything to our economy (or truly affects the price of food), supply management should be gotten rid of anyway. A marketing board that's optional? Sure. But to set it up so that producers are not ALLOWED to sell outside of that board? I'm in constant disbelief that this level of communism was ever allowed to exist in the first place.
I wonder why Conservatives are so defiantly defending communism..
-
I am surprised the article never mentioned Quebec!
Supply management is a sacred cow in eastern Canada but most especially in Quebec.
Umm.. If it was just Quebec, I highly doubt Harper would be trying this hard to keep it.
There are votes at stake with this move.

About time.
What's interesting is that the CPC adamantly defended this protectionism on Power and Politics just last night. The entire party supports protectionism.
Do you really think they'll listen to a defected Liberal?
-
Looks like Harper's going to need to drop the protectionism if they want any real clout in the Trans-pacific partnership.
“The worst part is that it’s not just taxpayers, it’s regressive. Lower income families are paying a higher percentage of their income for basic nutrition.“From a political perspective, that alone should be worth far more than the whole variety of family tax credits that have been offered in recent years to encourage voters,” she said.

I was just going to mention the Coyne article. He's a fairly conservative-minded pundit, so it should go without saying that his opinion wouldn't be skewed to the left on this matter. He makes the obvious assertion that many have already acknowledged - the Cons have become blatant hypocrites on the matter of fiscal transparency.
-
The house was really pushing for that apology yesterday. Fortunately, Kenney eventually gave in, but I would not be surprised if the federal relationship with it's Alberta cousins has been marred moving forward.
This is dangerous, divisive politics and Alberta should think twice about who truly has their interests at heart.

Lets not forget pretty boy calling a cabinet minister a piece of shit.
In all honesty, he really is a piece of shit.
This whole issue is a job for utilitarianism anyway..
-
not a big deal for me, it's the way adults talk in the real world...
Bullshit.
-- Rae
Seriously though, it depends on the context of the comment and how offensive it really is.

Was watching Power and Politics last night and the Conservatives admitted that they are withholding information, but they simply think that it is within their right to do so because that information is not pertinent to the budget. Obviously the parliamentary budget officer disagrees.

What's the matter??? I commented about my mistake and posted it? Orrr, are you simply against others opinions... Keeping people silent! Is this a leftist forum? If it is, I will be happy to leave... But I thought this was about open and free speech?
I'm a big man, I corrected my post... Can you be a big man and listen to others opinions or position??? Ban stick? For shame...... I must be much bigger than you if I can admit my ignorance when it comes to a fucking CTV schedule! Shame.... Go ahead, silence me... It would prove typical and fitting..
Go have your leftist love in.... Jack-Layton rub-n-tugs all around.... Really?
I personally have no problem with your enlightening posts, but I thought it was the forum m.o. to throwdown evocative threads.
-
So.. about enforcing that banstick.

Funny how at the same time as this "affront to democracy" is happening in the form of a 400+ page Omnibus Budget Bill, Dalton McGuinty is trying to push through a 327 page Omnibus Budget bill of his own. Why is HE not being accused of hijacking democracy?
McGuinty's budget is more focused on being a budget.

Kelly McParland?

The Liberals and NDP are two polar opposites?
I'm not surprised he would say that considering it's coming from the guy that doesn't understand the difference between parliament and government.
-
Conservative Libertarians getting in a tiff about the word "bull shit" ?
Funny how that works.
-
Where's your proof that Bob Rae is running for the leadership of the Liberals.
You did start an unsubstantiated thread about it after all.
Zing!
-
oh my! Why is the OECD pitting regions of Canada against each other?
Clearly they are getting moneyhats from the evil, Quebec loving NDP.
-
Seriously?
Ezra has made an entire career out of his knuckledragging beliefs that the Left are nothing but idiots.
In other words,he's exactly what you criticize.
This is precisely why he's not truly a Libertarian.
It's really just his own agenda dressed with sensationalism.
-
It still amazes me that people see Ezra as some shining beacon for libertarianism.
-
Waste of time to worry about this. If guilty he will just be fined 5000 dollars and be given a promotion by Harper.
Actually, he could be looking at 5 years in jail.
-
What about when the NDP was caught twice I think taking illigal money from big unions, now there is something that got very little air time.
Oh yea, I remember that.
Looks like it didn't stick.
Harper Gallery leaves MP's speechless...

The article is from 2008.
I'm sure Harper has changed since then.
