  1. Must be a bit of projection on their part.
  2. Probably one of the most important issues not being discussed this GE; what are your thoughts? What would be your ideal plan for electoral finance reform? It's rather shocking to me that the Greens or the NDP aren't discussing this more, especially the Greens. It seems to be completely off the radar for some reason.
  3. The Green Party is what the NDP once was not too long ago. They're a good left of centre party with sound ideas (Pharamacare, their Tax plan, Environmental ideas, etc.).
  4. You know, I've actually looked at the Greens platform that they have online, and I think you're right. I must say that they're actually considerably to the left of the NDP. I don't think it would be a stretch to call them Democratic Socialists, like the NDP used to be. I quite like the direction May has taken them in.
  5. I just wish the parties (*cough* Grits and NDP *cough*) had more about it in their policy proposals. I'm obviously not a scholar on it, despite knowing it's wrong that money has the role it does now, so I hardly no where to start with it. I suppose bringing back the Per vote subsidy would be better. Any ideas?
  6. I think Proportional Representation is only part of the problem. Automatic voter registration, stricter campaign finance laws are needed too, etc.
  7. I think we'll be able to more accurately compare once the NDP comes out with a Policy Book.
  8. I don't think people realize how atypical the Greens are here. They're pretty right leaning and conservative outside of Environmental issues. They're certainly not to the left of the NDP (yet). That being said, the NDP should have picked Ashton for leader last leadership contest.
  9. I think you hit the nail on the head. That's the problem of having a multicultural system enshrined. I support an intercultural system, kinda like what Quebec does. I've been to Vancouver, though, and people in the third generation almost always speak English, but even then, they still seemed to be trapped in ethnic enclaves (like Chinatowns). When people come to Canada, I don't believe most of them want to just live in their old country with the same sorts of things (which is what happens in big city ethnic enclaves in Canada).
  10. Of course, but do we have caps on the number of immigrants?
  11. Shame about the NDP, I don't know why Mulcair wants to turn right. If he would have kept what Layton had going, it would have been fine. I don't want to be too critical before the manifesto comes out, but its not looking goos??
  12. Question; can the PM raise immigration like some are saying? I thought we had a point system without caps?
  13. Hi, first post here. I would make my own thread for this, but I'm barred from doing so. My question is this - in the upcoming election, how will Asian Americans (especially East Asians) vote? Thanks.
