What really bothers me is nobody is concerned about the fallout for those who are the most vulnerable and dependent on our society to survive. This emergency is a debacle and anyone who knows how the government works can predict, they're not going to be able to help many people.
I feel sorry for my poor Mom, haven't seen her in three weeks now and she's all alone. She does have facebook however. But she's scared and lonely. I try to reassure her.
Meanwhile my wife's mom is even older. Grandma doesn't have internet, so she's not plugged in to all this wonderful online discussion and information and emotional support and accessibility that we all take for granted. She does have a cell phone. How many others do not even have that little bit of tech? Where are they in this? They are the least of all of us.
Last Friday the good premier announced more store closures. Canadian Tire and all other hardware stores are closed in Ontario. Now you have to order your stuff online or by phone, and get it by curb-side pickup. Their web site can't handle it. Phone calls, you can well imagine how good that is going as well. Lineups of the damned waiting outside of stores for their package to be brought out, by some hooded zigzag who hands you the goods in the parking lot. Grandma has no chance to get what she needs there right now.

People are being cast into the void by a tidal wave of fear and paranoia. Yet no one in our government is seriously asking these questions or even addressing the panic and fear, to calm people down. This is important to maintain civility.

Civility and order won't last long if this goes on for months rather than weeks.
