Good point August! I think it is a guy thing that makes us want to get others to see our point of view. We will yell & scream to get the last word, in hopes that you will change your opinion. Many good arguments are brought forth, but most people on this forum have a party in mind and nobody is going to sway them! It goes from there and becomes a pissing contest and we try to convince the others of who is the most corrupt politician. For many of us righties, it is frustrating to hear pro Liberals like Brison & THELIBERAL(aka:MORON) tell us how clean their party is and that anyone who disagrees with them is WRONG. Most of what is posted here is what we have gathered from the media and lots from the Gomery Inquiry and it appears to be damning testimony, yet Brison & THELIBERAL will argue and trash anyone who brings this up. They are both a negative on this forum for their tactics and makes it tough to enjoy a good debate. Sweal is a long-winded postaholic who just likes to see his name on anything, whether or not it has any substance whatsoever. Kimmy & August seem to be the forum elite, who are very insightful and in no way insulting. If the forum could rid themselves of some of these trolls & instigaters it would make this quite enjoyable!

At least in Texas your kind are few and far between. I think the last one like you was dragged in the streets. What a state!....Hey Scott... wanna go to Texas with me?

NOw do you wanna hear about the REAL stupid party??? Monday, 13 June 2005 Kevin Libin Not many people would think that accusing someone of being in the KKK--a group responsible for murdering dozens of American blacks in the century following the Civil War--would be a charge to throw around lightly. But when a couple of Conservative MPs were photographed having a chuckle at a Western Standard magazine, with its cover story satirizing the Liberals by casting them as characters from the The Sopranos, Volpe accused them of being anti-immigrant and members of the Klan. "Notwithstanding that they don't have their cowl and their cape, the Klan looks like it's still very much alive." If you didn't catch the video footage of Volpe making his remarks outside the House of Commons, you missed the best part: the reporters started snickering at the ridiculousness of his tirade. Volpe, after all, couldn't possibly have believed what he was saying--he was challenged in his own riding in the last two elections by Jewish conservative candidates. A day later, on a Calgary radio call-in show, Volpe claimed that he meant "clan," with a c, as in a family. The host couldn't contain his guffaws. Journalists are used to lying politicians. We encounter them almost daily. A few days before this issue went to press, we were preparing a story about the danger that then Conservative MP Belinda Stronach posed to Stephen Harper's leadership and what he might do to rein her in. Belinda's people reassured our reporter that she "supports Stephen Harper completely." Days later, Stronach defected to the Liberals, claiming she "doesn't feel comfortable with the direction Stephen Harper is going." She also said she was displeased with the Tories' "alliance" with the separatist Bloc Québécois to bring down the government on its budget. Of course, the Liberals have "allied" with the Bloc many more times than the Tories. And, besides, it's the Opposition party's job to oppose the government, regardless of who joins in. Stronach was clearly lying--but it was probably just her way of showing she fit in with her new party. When Prime Minister Paul Martin told reporters that buying Stronach off with a cabinet post had nothing to do with gaining the crucial vote he needed for the coming budget vote that threatened to defeat his government, the press gallery burst into laughter. Finance Minister Ralph Goodale tried the same fib about a surprise announcement that Ottawa would send $170 million and 100 troops to the Darfur region. Darfur aid just happened to be what former Liberal MP David Kilgour--whose vote as an independent was also coveted by Martin--had been trying to get his party to commit to for months, before he gave up and left. Goodale said: "Clearly this plan for Darfur was not devised in the last week or two." A day later, the Sudanese government rejected the offer; they hadn't once been notified by Ottawa about the plan. Yes, reporters are used to liars, but good liars--ones who make the effort to sound moderately plausible. When the Liberals peddle such blatant nose-stretchers, it shows they've abandoned any sense of shame. They know they're lying, we know they're lying, but what are you gonna do about it? This government has utterly lost respect for voters. The Liberals don't care what you think of them anymore, as long as they can, through bribes, manipulation, corruption and slick parliamentary manoeuvring, retain their hold on power. But it can't go on forever. Canadians will eventually be asked to decide whether we'd rather be lied to, or face the very ugly truth about the gang that's been running our country over the last 13 years. And when we do, you can bet we won't be laughing. You like bias bigdude? Everyone has an opinion!

In the real world, they call this guy a huge moron! Whoever gave him the permission to even write should be shot with a ball of his own shit. It is the most biased bunch of bullshit and I wasted my time even reading it! Others who see this post keep on going...bigdude once again wasted our time. Look at this moronic quote "Their most prominent woman walks across the floor and when all the cameras and microphones are pointed at them, the best attack they can muster is that their biggest female star was an ambitious, stupid, heartbreaking whore." She is not the most prominent woman in politics, she is a waste of skin. What kind of drugs do they feed this doofus?

All of these decisions go with the way Canada is leaning right now. It was Provincial judges that decided that homsexuals should be allowed to marry. They interpret the law how they see fit, with little or no repercussions on their decisions. Now we have the Supreme court saying that due to the mess the federal healthcare system is in right now, it is better to have alternatives like private clinics. Agree or not, we are stuck with the decisions, because these judges have the final say on how the laws are interpreted. It does allow some talk about judicial reform. Personally, I think having a partial two tier system will help the needs of Canadians right now, at least until we straighten out our pathetic situation. In the same sentence, I disagree with same sex marriage. Both decisions were made by judges, all be it, at two different levels. We have a semi-democratic process going on with the ssm, by allowing MP's to vote on it(if they only voted the same way as their constituents!!), but the same thing should take place for the healthcare system. There should be an opportunity for Canadians to vote on allowing this and not the decision of the high courts. What I am saying is, like it or hate it, our Canadian courts are making calls they have no right to make. It should be decided by Canadians in a democratic way, not by our judges. These decisions awfully seem like the communist way of doing things. Might I remind you all, that the Liberals have been promising healthcare reform for many, many, many years and we have yet to see any viable answers. They use it as a huge election issue and once they are voted in, stuff it on the backburner to use it at a later date. When will Canadians see, there is no healthcare reform from the Liberals, it is a scare tactic? If it takes a partial two tier to straighten this mess out, it may not be such a bad thing. If it kicks the Liberals in the ass and makes them open their eyes to realize how pityful the system is right now and maybe they will try and fix healthcare. I don't think it will make us like the Americans!

On an internet forum, I'm afraid your word is worth squat. Let me put it to you another way: I am a heterosexual white male as well, yet I don't feel oppressed or put upon in any way, shape or form by minorities. Why the gap in our respective experiences? I dug into my Redneck/English dictionary and translated this for the rest of you out there and here's what it says: <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Your version would be, "My name is Blackdog and I use obscure quotes with no real meaning in an attempt to belittle my opponents on this forum. The reason I do this is to compensate for an extremely small penis. I have no real support for any political party, I prefer to insult those who do and tell them why they are wrong, with some more obscure passages from the'small penis compensation handbook'. I have no life, I masterbate on a regular basis to pictures of Roc Voisine and consider my true hero to be Martha Stewart." This will just about sum up a day in the life of Blackdogma. Tell me that isn't funny!!! -

So is there any, y'know, substance to your paranoid ranting? Or has your brain been melted into sludge by too much exposure to right-wing talk radio? 'cause i can't hlep noticing there's no actual examples given, no evidence presented...nuthin'. Just a lot of race-baiting, homophobia and "us white men are so hard done by" bullshit. I got news for you chumley: straight white men are not an endangered species. Staright white men run the whle goddamn show. And if you're feeling oppressed an alienated, why don't you look at teh straight white men who control the levers of power in the political and business worlds instread of succumbing to the divide and conquer tatics they use to keep people like you in line. Of course you wouldn't understand identity politics or why traditionally oppressed minorities find pride in their identities. Nor do you understand the difference between a minority group asserting themesleves and an oppressive majority seeking to maintain the traditional power imbalances and structural inequalities that favour them. To a black person or a queer person, every single day is "staright white pride" day. So basically, you're paranoid. I know lots of people who get like that, my advice to them is to lay off the weed if they can't handle it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Who needs proof of all of this? It is happening every day. I am not paranoid, I see this shit in everything I do. The problem with the white men pushing the buttons now is, they bow down to every minority request, have some backbone and quit letting them have their way EVERYTIME! I am not paranoid and I don't smoke dope or do any drugs, unlike you at your massage parties with you pride flags flying high!! And if you think these minorities are oppresssed...open your fucking eyes you half-wit!! -

Look again: As Netherlands pointed out as well, the web site did not conduct the poll, so I'll ask you again: what makes the EKOS poll I quoted, or any subsequent polls cited showing a majority in favour of SSM, "biased"? WTF does that mean? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It means, we are so overcome with minority bullshit and welfare babies and fag rights, that the only one left paying the bills is the hetereosexual, white, english speaking male. The Liberals have given this country to people who will not work to save it. I am tired of working and paying taxes to a goddamn corrupt gov't that is giving it to lazy fucks, french sovereignty and God knows what else, along with having to listen to these gay rights activists saying they are being mistreated! I would like to remove the phrase "politically correct" from the dictionary. Politically correct should be actually called, "words for the oppressed minorities to feel good about themselves" or " the removal of any slave trading bigot white english men from our society". What the fuck that means is: We live in a world of double standard! What the official minorities are allowed to do with little or no backlash, is strictly forbidden by the rest of Canadians. Black people use phrases like: "Black Power" or they have the United Negro College Fund. If I had a bumper sticker, "White Supremacy", I would be shot. If their were a United White College Fund, can you imagine the backlash??? Gays say things like "Gay and proud of it". If a Straight guy had a picket sign at a gay pride parade that said, "Straight and proud of it", he would be beaten up by a bunch of limp wristers.(Well, maybe not..LOL) How about the french? When you drive through Quebec, there are towns with only french signs, yet everything we buy has french and english on it and bilingualism is forced on everybody in Canada. How is that for equality? So what I am saying for you Blackdog is, I am sick and tired of this bullshit that favors only a select few and does not share the views of the majority of Canada. We need democracy!!! I think if a person were to dig into who funds these pollsters, you'd probably find Liberal backing or some kind of biased bullshit, like our media. So, no matter what polls say, good or bad for any party, I do not believe their results. Polls mean nothing except, when they convince the public to vote for the party highest in the polls. -

In Canada we have laws devoted to the protection of minority rights. Courts across Canada have determined that laws prohibiting SSM violate the "law of the land". So these judges are interpreting the laws to ensur ethey are constitutional. You mean homosexual marriage? 'Cause that's all the legislation will lead to. Pardon my French, but this is a crock of shit. You're telling me that the watering dowen of the Bill's language to appease anti-SSM supporters is a trick? What are you basing this on, exactly? It's clear you don't know how laws work. If the changes you mention make it into the law, then they cannot be reveresed on a whim. And if the changes cannot hold up against potential constituional challenges, they have no business being in the bill. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Just watch, it is a trick to appease the anti-gay MP's. It will be open to civil suits I am sure, whoever tells a homosexual they can't be married in their institution will be sued. They will have the power once this bill becomes law. Give them an inch and they will take a mile. I am so tired of hearing about gay rights, it makes me wanna throw up.

Look at the name of the website for the survey....365gay.com, think that would be a biased survey???? The other surveys are off topic, kinda like the Quebec referendum in 95'. They need a direct question!!! I find that website offensive!! If I started a website call 365straightwhiteenglishmale.com, think I would get any grief? It is a double standard society and the straight, white, english speaking man from Alberta will soon be extinct! -

in other words: "A poll that tells me what I want to hear." What makes this poll biased? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Instead of a "poll that tells blackdog what he wants to hear" -
But look, on any close examination, none of those motivations is rationally defensible in the context of public policy. Don't like gay promiscuity? Not your business. But hey, maybe marriage would lead to less promiscuity. Cherish the 'man/woman family'? Okay, tell me how homosexuality or SSM poses any realistic threat to it. Dislike court driven legal changes? Move to Russia. We're a society of laws. Too bad. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In a democracy, aren't legal changes decided on by the house of commons and not by provincial judges? Judges in 7 provinces seem to be making the laws and not interpreting them. Homosexuality is not a threat, it is what allowing marriage of homosexuals will lead to. The latest meeting of the Liberals was to keep others from being like O'Brien and leaving. What was agreed on was this: Noone will be charged for discrimination if they choose not to allow SSM in their church/hall/event center. Judges, Justice of the peace, ministers & priests will be able to deny SSM at their discretion. How long will this last? As long as it takes to pass this bill. Then, the first judge or minister to deny a gay couple of marrying will be slapped with a lawsuit and those Liberal agreements made to save the party and appease the anti-gay MP's will be over-turned. What a pityful trick by Martin, the devout Catholic!!! Funny!

He forgot to tell you where they polled people. Half the poll was in downtown Vancouver, the other half in downtown Montreal. Most of the ones polled, thought the interviewer said "pole" and got all excited and said yes yes, I take pole! All joking aside, I would be interested to see a non-biased poll! -
Liberal Party "Pre-Electoral" Pork

Yeah Alberta is pretty poor, they desperatly need it. Oh crap could you pass the oil? My car keeps leaking it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Far be it from me to defend Albertans, but excuse me while I go outside and wretch. There is something nauseating happening in Canada now. When Trudeau did things like this, at least he had 75 seats in Quebec, a bunch of seats in Ontario and could claim that he represented both sides of central Canada. He also had some scheme in mind and some finesse. But that was then and this is now. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Federal money is always needed in every province, regardless of their apparent "wealth" otherwise, why would we pay tax??? Brison, for you to not care whether Alberta gets a share or not, shows your complete ignorance to nationality. It does build a strong case for the Separation Party of Alberta! August, it sounds like you are saying, " If Martin had more support in Quebec, it would be ok to stiff Alberta!" or am I reading you wrong? That same kind of stupidity is why Trudeau was such an ass and why he was a hated man in Alberta! Not too many here cried when he finally "kicked off"! If Martin feels he does not need to visit Alberta or ante up the dough, then separation will be the talk. We don't need Martin's Liberal bullshit agenda or the Liberal party at all. Pathetic!!! -

"Mark Steyn How many gays does it take to change a light bulb? Oh, good heavens, we don’t expect him actually to change the light bulb. All he has to do is hold it up on the lawn at Queen’s Park, while another gay waves a placard saying “DON’T LEAVE CANADA IN THE DARK AGES,” and that should pretty much do it. Two’s company, but two gays are a crowd, at least when it comes to public protests. Stick a couple of gays in a public place courageously demonstrating against our oppressive homophobic society, and we in the media will be over with the cameras and buzzing like moths around a flamer. So it was that on Victoria Day eight gays held a protest outside the Ontario legislature calling for “Equal Rights, Equal Marriage.” The Globe and Mail ran a picture of the “protest” above the curious headline “Same-Sex Rallies,” presumably on the principle that, if more than three gays are present, it must count as multiple rallies. The gays were all cuddled up together, so the photograph provided an excellent shot of great vacant swathes of grass, the tree in the background, surrounding buildings, etc. Meanwhile, a few yards away were several thousand people. Unfortunately for them, they weren’t gay, so they didn’t get their picture in The Globe and Mail. Instead, they were calling for the preservation of traditional marriage, and there were only an estimated 10,000 or so. So there were, sadly, too many to fit in a photo and, although The Globe sent along a reporter, his story got spiked. How many anti-gay-marriage types does it take to change a light bulb? Oh, at least 30,000, and even then The Grace and Will--sorry, Globe and Male will only run it on page D27, at the foot of the gay bathhouse classifieds. There’s an old, ... " -

My favorite line "we in the media will be over with the cameras and buzzing like moths around a flamer. " Classic! -
A single MP making an off the cuff comment and an entire party supporting a scheme for Liberals and their buddies to get rich off taxpayers money are just slightly different things. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh s**t! That's right! you guys have proof it was the entire party! I forgot! It must be on that part of the Grewald tape that they haven't released yet, right next to the grassy knoll gun that was used to kill Kennedy, and the map to Jimmy Hoffa's final resting place...... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey Brison, I thought Liberals we supposed to me middle of the road? You don't sound very middle of the road to me. Taking notes from rightwinger?

I think it is an embarrassment to Canadian people and should not be allowed on mainstream tv. Every other show on tv now has a gay theme. What happened to regular sitcoms?
