Bourassa appointed him to investigate labour union practices in Quebec.Diefenbaker was none of those things. Duplessis got the vote out for Diefenbaker. Why? Duplessis was angry with the Liberals and Diefenbaker was ambitious. Which is pretty much beside the point. I was born in Montreal nord near laval and went to Cegep in montreal and used to go to the same tennis club**as and when Muldoon. Muldoon is an Irish-Canadian Anglophone. **Mont Royal Tennis Club. I wasn't a member, but my buddy was the night cleaner, so every so often I would join him, get his chores done in less than half the time and use a copied key on the bar. Oh the days....sitting in the leather wingbacks, sipping some armagac, smoking a fat cone and listening to the waitress tell stories out of school about the members......
