Leafless Posted August 6, 2007 Report Posted August 6, 2007 A program pioneered in London to increase transplant organ donations is being expanded across the province in a bid to save more lives. McGuinty also announced that living organ donors would be compensated as much as $5,500 for their expenses and lost wages. How unethical can we get. Dalton Mc.Guinty is now preparing, considering the nature of the program, a mass assault aimed on the poor of Ontario, or anyone else in the need of a quick buck, to exploit them for $$$ to donate, mostly THEIR kidneys. Why not extend this for $$$ for a pint of blood. My predictions on this one, is, you will NEVER hear of a blood shortage again. http://lfpress.ca/newsstand/CityandRegion/...393195-sun.html Quote

Leafless Posted August 8, 2007 Author Report Posted August 8, 2007 This is a program to reimburse costs, not to pay cash. There are ways to translate expenses into a cash profit. Anyways it turns out the whole transplant program is only a Dalton Mc.Guinty Liberal election promise. Further to the recent announcements by the Ontario Government about their intention to pay expenses and lost wages for living donors up to a maximum of $5,500 and conditional upon the Liberal's being re-elected in the upcoming election, this news release from MPP Frank Klees gives us much insight for consideration. http://mervsheppard.blogspot.com/2007/08/m...n-donation.html TO DEFER IS TO DO NOTHING: MCGUINTYAnd nothing is what McGuinty has done Quote
