jdobbin Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/stor...0706?hub=Canada "Saskatchewan is rapidly moving from being a have-not province to being a have province,'' he said."It's not the government here -- certainly not -- it's the people of Saskatchewan who are making this happen.'' Disagreement over the issues of equalization payments and resource revenues has caused friction lately between the Harper's Conservatives and Premier Lorne Calvert's NDP government. It sounds like provinces who do act ungrateful get the most money. Quote
geoffrey Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 You should be more honest. He called the NDP government ungrateful, which they are. Not the people of Saskatchewan who I'm sure are greatful for the renewed investment in technology that is making Saskatchewan the emerging economy that it is. -- Again, only a fool would think provoinces should be uncapped in equalisation, receiving dollars beyond the wealth of the provinces that pay into the system. Equalisations should be capped at Ontario's wealth, anything else is purely irrational ramblings of political interested hacks. Hopefully Charles Anthony sees that at changes the thread title. So very, very deceitful. Lorne Calvert's government, not the people of Saskatchewan, have been picking a fight with the Feds to try and score cheap political points. I have no idea if they are grateful about the investment. The latest polls seem to show people in Saskatchewan siding with their government. Quote
madmax Posted July 7, 2007 Report Posted July 7, 2007 You should be more honest. He called the NDP government ungrateful, which they are. Are they more ungrateful then the Conservatives in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia? I haven't seen them removing the Canadian flag. Quote

Good question and open to debate. Don't really know why the Maritime provinces would come up in an announcement in Kenaston, Saskatachewan though. Harper's divide and conquer strategy is doing little to shore up his support. He has three premiers who think he is a breaker of promises and by accounts the people of those three provinces are supporting their premiers. http://www.hamiltonspectator.com/NASApp/cs...l=1112101662670 Quote

Michael Bluth Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Why not just entitle all your threads "Harper SuXoR!!!! just to save the trouble of determining each day's reason why you think so? The stories linked to are actually pretty interesting to read. They are increasingly proving how stable and focused the government Stephen Harper is leading truly is. I prefer to see the various thread titles. When such an outright lie has to be made to try and paint Harper as *scary* *scary* *scary* it only goes to prove that Harper isn't really that scary at all.
