Figleaf Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 I figure these teachers had been drinking. Get a load of this... http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/2...r_teachers.html A field trip took a nasty turn for elementary students at a Murfreesboro, Tennessee elementary school Thursday. The trip, originally planned as a learning experience, ended up traumatizing the entire class. The sixth-graders had taken a five-day trip to a state park when teachers and staff members decided to "drill" the students on what to do if someone attacked them with a gun.... The students were gathered in a room when a gunman came in threatening them. Children began hiding under tables and huddling together. The children were crying, begging for their lives. ... One teacher dressed as a gunman, turned off the lights and attempted to enter a locked door... ... One of the students told reporters that she thought she was going to die. Quote
kuzadd Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 I heard this one, and it is sick, sick, sick!!! I wonder if this is simply limited to the teachers, or of this came from some administrator? or maybe it's part of some 'homeland security' training to get funds for schools? It is not okay to criticize a person's character or directly insult them, regardless of their position or actions. buffycat Posted May 16, 2007 Report Posted May 16, 2007 Sadly this is not an isolated case. There are often mock terror drills and the children are not always informed. What in the world do they wish to accomplish? Do the wish to turn a generation of kids into mindless bots living in fear of authority? It is sick - yet will anyone be held accountable? Will anything change? Quote "An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind" ~ Ghandi

kuzadd Posted May 18, 2007 Report Posted May 18, 2007 Just a comment, on the lack of response or concern at kids being terrorized by a gunman, causing the children to cry and beg for their lives? OMG! Gosh, figleaf, perhaps to garner enough outrage, for these kids, these teacher should have terrorized them and then tossed brokeback mountain on , that would have got the rage on, amongst the posters here. I just couldn't help but notice, the weird lack of comments on this news story vs, the brokeback mountain on. This is far more outrageous, then one girls lawsuit, out of a whole class, who's grandparents look to me like they are pushing it. Aah, priorities, priorities!
