Sheila Copps gets my vote.
Conrad Black - one who tore up his Canadian citizenship in order to purchase a baronet in England

Nice job of overlooking what that was actually all about: one of Jean Chretiens worst moments, which is saying a lot.

Chretien didn't pass the Nickel Resolution almost a century ago, Parliament did. All Chretien did in this case was his job -- ensuring Parliament's wishes were recognized.

Like Black was the first to be honoured after that law was passed... it was a personal feud.

Like Black wasn't the first, eh? Try Roy Thomson, Lord Thomson of Fleet, and Max Aiken, Lord Beaverbrook.....

As well there was my friend's Grandfather, Kare Martin, a Norwegian immigrant to Canada, who would have been knighted by the King of Norway for services he rendered during the war while serving with British Intellegence. Instead he received high honours that are bestowed to foreigners.

I was going to ask the same about the Khadrs.

I don't consider them Canadians. There are a few posters I nominate here, along with Bernardo, Homulka, Trudeau and PM King.

  • Free speech: "You can say what you want, but I don't have to lend you my megaphone."
  • Always remember that when you are in the right you can afford to keep your temper, and when you are in the wrong you cannot afford to lose it. - J.J. Reynolds.
  • Will the steps anyone is proposing to fight "climate change" reduce a single temperature, by a single degree, at a single location?
  • The mantra of "world opinion" or the views of the "international community" betrays flabby and weak reasoning (link).

Canada's worst Canadian?

Sir John A. McDonald.

He was a lecherous drunk who used the office of Prime Minister for his own personal gain and anyone that stood in his way paid a huge price. Of course he set the tone for those that would follow him in the position, but I do believe he was the worst of all.

I object to the slander Sir John A.

I'm not sure about the status of Beaverbrook's title in Canada, but I know Thompson's title is fully legal in Canada - it has an official exception or something. Black had to give up his Canadian citizenship to take his title.
