New Slush Fund for Tory Ridings?

The new program designed to replace the infamously corrupt federal sponsorship fund appears set to become a bona fide Conservative boondoggle, the opposition alleged Wednesday.

An internal memo suggests the government intends to favour ridings held by Tory MPs when they hand out cash from a new $30-million program for festivals, the NDP said. New Democrat MP Charlie Angus said the Tories - who bill themselves as a new government of accountability - have a few questions to answer.

"Are we watching the birth here of a brand, spanking-new, little baby boondoggle?" Angus said.

Who wrote this memo?

Perhaps some of the staffers don't like being the new Liberal party?

Those staffers need to be f*cking fired and now.

They will be too if it wasn't a planned leak.

Better to keep those staffers who buy into the policy compromises in order to hold power. Do they really want to return to the Alliance days? No cohesion, no discipline and no shot at power....

Whoever did needs to be canned, preferably Bev Oda (I can't stand her).

She is a fairly weak minister as far as I can tell.

Some people commented very early on that this new fund would lead to troubles.

So much for accountability, principle, it's all about power.

In there is a course for spin, one topic they'd be sure to cover is the use of the word "suggests." If the memo was condemning, they would say it states or proves.

It is an internal memo that was supposed to be for Tories only. Let's just say their explanation of it is very weak.
