Topaz Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I don't think the government can be trusted to tell us the truth when it comes to the Taliban. The Taliban killed the PM or Presidents father when he was working in the US for the oil companies. So I feel every Taliban captured and turned over to that gov't WILL be tortured and then that puts Canada breaking the International law IF this did happen, can you see O'Connor and Harper pointing the finger at who...McKay??? Also, I don't think Harper will make a firm date on withdrawal, being Feb.'09. Why? If Harper goes ahead now and does this, then he won't be able to extended the mission after giving his word to withdrawal date, if he should win a majority election. So he's putting it on hold with another of other items. Quote
M.Dancer Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 I see three options. One is setting up camps for detainees on St Pierre et Miquelon...an other handing out summary executions, or we can continue to hand over afghan nationals to the afghan govt while pressing the to observe the requisite basic rules of war. Quote RIGHT of SOME, LEFT of OTHERS If it is a choice between them and us, I choose us

If we pick summary executions, can we have the old 'blown from the mouth of a cannon' method revived? We did it a bit in the Indian mutiny, but I'd really like to see what happens with a 105mm cannon. Quote
