volunteer Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 Hi, guys. What’s your idea of widening of American peacekeeping missions worldwide? I know that Georgians would be really appreciative if American fitty GIs help them to subdue separatist enclaves of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Presently there are Russian troopers deployed on those territories helping to pacify opposing sides. Well, Georgians are to raise the issue of withdrawing of Russian military men at pending UN meeting. No good idea imo. Actually wily and excessively militaristic Georgian president Saakashvili has his own covert plan. The idea is just to use American military might to start wars on both enclaves. It would be just stupid to swallow the hook. And if American peacekeeping mission still happened I suspect it would be far more challenging then in Afghanistan or Iraq. In the previous clashes between Tbilisi and rebellious enclaves death toll was huge on all opposing sides and hatreds keep staying. Then I say guys, Americans are just aliens in the region unlike Russians. Better let them sort out that mess in the Caucasus. As for American peacekeepers they’ve got a lot of work to do yet in Afghanistan and Iraq. So let Russians clear the site for us to come later and construct real democracy. Quote

From another nation in Canada Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 No way. The routine is: American/Israel starts war, then UN security council appeals for cease file, and then blue helmit from other countries involves in Peacekeeping. Quote
