guyser Posted April 6, 2007 Report Posted April 6, 2007 Or have DJ Rita do a rendition of the Black Eyed Peas song .Now that would get Canadians watching CBC. Too late, Alannis Morrisette already did a cover version. Click your link and look on the right side. saw this a couple of days ago. Quote

That is pretty random. Not quite sure what to think. At least it gets her some exposure. Quote No one has ever defeated the Liberals with a divided conservative family. - Hon. Jim Prentice

Saw it yesterday, that's what made me look at Fergie's My Humps. Rita's version(if she does one) I think would be better. How could you not watch.....even if on CBC? jdobbin Posted April 6, 2007 Author Report Posted April 6, 2007 Cancelling Country Canada? Doesn't CBC have a whole channel devoted to country? Quote
jdobbin Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 CBC to Broadcast Soccer. http://www.playbackmag.com/articles/daily/...411/soccer.html CBC inked a deal Wednesday with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment to broadcast the games of the Toronto FC -- Canada's first Major League Soccer club -- for its inaugural 2007 season. The Ceeb will broadcast 14 regular season games this year, including the team's home opener on April 28 against the Kansas City Wizards. The deal also gives CBC exclusive Canadian broadcast rights to the 2007 MLS Playoffs and MLS Cup, as well as the All-Star Game. Rogers Sportsnet and The Score are reportedly also on board for eight regular-season games apiece. Probably not a bad thing to be on the ground floor for this type of venture. Quote

blueblood Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 CBC to Broadcast Soccer. Have you ever watched soccer on TV? World cup soccer is pretty intense. Go England!!! Michael Bluth Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 CBC to Broadcast Soccer. Have you ever watched soccer on TV? This is a third rate league they are going to be broadcasting. Any true soccer fan is going to get up early on Saturdays and watch the Premiereship on Sportsnet. They'll have decent ratings a couple times a year, that's it. How many times does Toronto play Beckham? Tsk, tsk CBC, you don't really *get* it do you. Quote No one has ever defeated the Liberals with a divided conservative family. - Hon. Jim Prentice
geoffrey Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Premiership? Pfftt. Get FoxSportsWorld, they cover tons of soccer from all the continental leagues as well as covering rugby (how many times do you get that on TV). It's a great channel, have to have Shaw digital or satellite though. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
jdobbin Posted April 13, 2007 Author Report Posted April 13, 2007 Have you ever watched soccer on TV? I certainly have. Some league play is quite good. World Cups have been a little dull in some years. Quote

But other than the Beckham games I don't see anybody in Canada caring to watch MLS. If you are a casual fan, premiership is a pretty good option. Basic cable plus package. If you are a hardcore fan get the digital or satellite so you can go with FoxSportsWorld. Quote No one has ever defeated the Liberals with a divided conservative family. - Hon. Jim Prentice
